Do come in. It's never too late to enrol. We have an extensive programme of rigorous academic study and a never-ending supply of Chateau Gizzy and ratafia biscuits.

Do I need to get the paddles out again?

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 09/02/2011 15:03

Grrrrr

SupermassiveLBD · 09/02/2011 15:10

I love it when he growls

Keep your paddles to yourself, Small.

There's a North and South fanfic Past and Present just been loaded on Wattpad, can't remember if I have read it or not (if anyone interested).

SupermassiveLBD · 09/02/2011 15:26

I have just seen on Twitter that the astronaut's glove is doing the rounds of US schools again.

No comment Wink

"special occasions" Phoenix...

..there are no words...

SupermassiveLBD · 09/02/2011 15:45

Special occasions...
Oh dear, there is no hope for any of us..

PassTheTwiglets · 09/02/2011 15:52

So... do you think he has the boots too?

MrsLucasNorth · 09/02/2011 15:54

Twigs - I daren't even go there...

SupermassiveLBD · 09/02/2011 15:55

Don't even go there, Twigs.

SupermassiveLBD · 09/02/2011 15:56

MrsLN massive GRIN here!!!!

PassTheTwiglets · 09/02/2011 15:56

Oh, my 'Porter' shirt arrived and it's not a Porter one at all in RL. So it's going back. Did yours arrive, MrsLN?

Proper catch-up later. DH is in Manchester with work today and won't be home until late, so it's dinner, bath, bed for the Little Twiglets and then I have a date with Mr Porter :)

PassTheTwiglets · 09/02/2011 15:58

And completely a propos of nothing, how gorgeous are these shoes? Looks like something you could wear whilst Mr Thornton was kissing you at the train station...

MrsLucasNorth · 09/02/2011 16:01

They are lovely, Twigs - and they look like you could wear them for a while without getting sore feet or breaking your ankle.

SupermassiveLBD · 09/02/2011 16:03

Lovely stuff, Twigs. both to the prospect of Porter, and the shoes.

MrsLucasNorth · 09/02/2011 16:12

Was that the purple Porter shirt Twigs?

If you haven't read The Gruinard Project yet, you might want to have a look tonight and see if it has the potential to be a Lucas shirt before you send it back Grin

DH bought his shirt in the shop, although he hasn't worn it yet. Is not his usual thing so will probably end up taking it back, knowing him.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 09/02/2011 16:28

Good afternoon ladies. My, you have been busy today.

::Has fire extinguisher ready, in case of conflagrations::

I would almost be prepared to concede that Guy (in Fallen Angel Face mode) is the most wibblesome incarnation, if it weren't for this.

::swoons::

Ha ha at his terrible handwriting. Perhaps that is his Achilles' heel?

::Hides old theatre tickets from Twiggy but gives them a surreptitious hug::

And, Phoenix, pray explain your cryptic comment about his niceness. Has he just adopted an orphan kitten?

SupermassiveLBD · 09/02/2011 17:20

Phoenix will explain herself of course, Maud, but IIRC the niceness came more from the pulchritude angle, as demonstrated rather than the state of his soul.

He was sweetness itself to Meg though. And even more handsome than he was in FAF mode.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 09/02/2011 17:26

Aha. Perhaps I was misled.

I misconstrued niceness as reflecting (as you say) the condition of his soul rather than of his visage. I agree with you that the exchanges with Meg represent something of a redemption for Guy, but you will never dissuade me from my view that the FAF is his plus beau visage. The long lank hair in S3 is too offputting for me (despite my fondness for the hairy biker type).

And you've reminded me of the Woody Allen gag about his cheating in his metaphysics exam by looking into the soul of the boy next to him.

SupermassiveLBD · 09/02/2011 17:35

He is indeed beyond lovely there, Maud, but today with Meg you could see his beautiful blue eyes so well, they usually look dark, something to do with the lighting maybe and his lovely hands without those gloves of his on.

I think the hair quite suits him, it looks very poetic. It could do with washing more often, I will give you that.

PassTheTwiglets · 09/02/2011 17:55

Yes, the purple shirt, MrsLN. It looked more navy in the picture. It was this one. I haven't read The Gruinard Project yet - curious as to why it may suggest a shirt to me now :)

Btw, I am with you, Maud - FAF Guy is by far my favourite Gizzy incarnation.

MrsLucasNorth · 09/02/2011 18:08

There's a bit where Lucas is getting dressed for a date and wearing a purple shirt. Am not sure what chapters/pages off the top of my head, but suffice to say he has a fairly eventful time getting in and out of it Wink!

I preferred it to Truce, as the back story was really good as well as, well, Y'know...

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 09/02/2011 18:54

Yes, long hair is most poetic ::thinks of her Bad Boy Byron:: but lank greasiness is more student grunge than lofty aestheticidm, I feel.

The Gardener has a purple shirt. Should I hire him out as a Lucas lookalike for the partially sighted?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 09/02/2011 18:55

PS Glad we're still friends, Twiggy. ::wink::

PassTheTwiglets · 09/02/2011 19:49

Always, Maud! :)
