Do come in. It's never too late to enrol. We have an extensive programme of rigorous academic study and a never-ending supply of Chateau Gizzy and ratafia biscuits.

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 08/02/2011 13:56

Ah yes, My Bad Boy Byron.

::rummages in the recycling box to see what happened to that script::

I had another idea at the weekend as I was listening to Mr Stephens in The Big Sleep. How about Philip Marlowe? Needs to be sardonic, acerbic and attractive to women. Whaddya think?

And if they ever remade The Singing Detective, he could be Philip Marlowe in that too and then we would get to see him dance.

Oh and there would be double-breasted suits and hats, wouldn't there?

::almost as good as a cravat emoticon::

Theresaholeinyourmind · 08/02/2011 14:13

Oh delicious! Those hats. Remember how they never took them off, in the black and white films? Even when they were having dinner.I remember once watching gangsters chase some poor guy all over a ship, up and down gangways, the lot, and he never lost his hat once. Even when he went over the side...

Oh, but he would look so fine...

Theresaholeinyourmind · 08/02/2011 14:27

Small I am not ignoring your contribution. YT blocks access to some of the vids in some countries for copyright ishoos.

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 08/02/2011 14:58

I think I read somewhere that according to Tolkein the dwarves rode ponies, so I guess that if they ride normal size horses then scale down both horse and rider then that would work. Though I have no idea if there are technical differences between the appearance of horses and ponies (other than size) that would need to be accounted for - they look exactly the same to me.

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 08/02/2011 15:40

I guess you are all doing the school run...

Theresaholeinyourmind · 08/02/2011 15:46

Hi Phoenix, not me! I was just looking for a file I had on horses etc. after some research I did a month or so ago. I remember that the horse/pony divide is mainly though size..Can't find the file now, I am always doing that.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 08/02/2011 15:48

I'm still here. I've been inspired to name change, again, as it's almost spring.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 08/02/2011 16:01

very smart, Maud!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 08/02/2011 16:04

It was dear, dear Alfie who inspired me. And who are you calling an old bat?

MrsLucasNorth · 08/02/2011 16:07

Brain not functioning Maud....who were you?

Theresaholeinyourmind · 08/02/2011 16:09

Not you, Maud, the bat in your poem.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 08/02/2011 16:10

I know, Theresa, but I can never resist a bad joke.

Incoming, MrsLN!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 08/02/2011 16:14

I often think I should name-change but the minute I rabbit on about the Limpopo and black leather, I will be outed anyway. What do you think, ladies?

TheSmallPrint · 08/02/2011 16:16

you can tell by the :: Mrs LN!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 08/02/2011 16:21

You could relocate to another unlikely location, Theresa?

::imagines Theresa reclining on a couch in a bedouin tent, reeking of patchouli and ready to be wooed by Guy in his naughty assassin mode::

Theresaholeinyourmind · 08/02/2011 17:14

Ooooh, Maud, just had to take a bit of a RL break and come back to your post about tents, Guy etc. It sounds delightful

sings:

...At night when you're asleep
into your tent I'll creep

Though I hope he leaves that curvy dagger of his at home...

Roseinthedesert · 08/02/2011 17:21

How about this, then?

Roseinthedesert · 08/02/2011 17:22

Nah, it's a bit naff...

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 08/02/2011 17:30

Well, I like the floral motif. But you need to feel comfortable in it.

::Sounds like vendeuse in venerable dress shop and calls you modom::

SupermassiveLBD · 08/02/2011 17:37

This is smarter. It will take me anywhere. And it's a nice colour...

TheSmallPrint · 08/02/2011 17:47

What do we call you then? Massive?

SupermassiveLBD · 08/02/2011 17:51

If you like, Small. You and I will be like Little and Large Grin
