Do come in. It's never too late to enrol. We have an extensive programme of rigorous academic study and a never-ending supply of Chateau Gizzy and ratafia biscuits.

Phoenix, very entertained by the presenting of "evidence" on the couples thread. Well done. You deserve a Wine for furthering the cause!

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 05/02/2011 17:05

It was my , itsalarf!!

PassTheTwiglets · 05/02/2011 17:06

Oh that shirt is lovely, MrsLN. Hmmm... Can't believe I still haven't watched any of Strikeback (or is it Strike Back?). It's here, just not seen it.

Techno, you mean MrT actually goes shopping willingly? Dr Twiglets hates shopping with a passion.

Phoenix, I saw that you had been unblocked. Hurrah! I don't think he meant to block you though, as he seemed confused about why you were sad, iirc?

Oooh, this shirt is gorgeous!

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 05/02/2011 17:18

Nice shirt, MrsLN - quite Porteresque...

MrsLucasNorth · 05/02/2011 17:18

That shirt is lovely Twigs. My DH has brown eyes and wouldn't wear purple if you paid him. I was quite gobsmacked when I pulled the other one out and he said "alright then" - we have totally opposite taste in everything normally. He does really like shopping though!

I haven't got round to watching Ultimate Force yet. Can't decide whether to be good and start at the beginning or dive straight into series 2.

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 05/02/2011 17:23

I was ordering a couple of kids books on Amazon today, and somehow my finger slipped and, to cut a long story short, I've ordered a copy of The Golden Hour.

No idea when I will be able to watch it though.

PassTheTwiglets · 05/02/2011 17:29

Yay for Dr Track, Phoenix! It is my guilty pleasure :) Will be interested to see if yours plays ok though, as mine is very odd.

MrsLN, you owe me £50. From clicking on your link to look at the shirt you bought, I've just ordered 2 jumpers and that purple shirt for DH :)

PassTheTwiglets · 05/02/2011 17:31

Quivers at the gorgeousness of this coat

MrsLucasNorth · 05/02/2011 17:36

It's not my fault you've got SMFV, Twigs, but hopefully the good doctor will be able to sort you out Grin!

How are you feeling today btw?

PassTheTwiglets · 05/02/2011 17:40

But I didn't have SMFV until you sneezed your virtual germs all over me!

Feeling dreadful today - even my hair hurts.

MrsLucasNorth · 05/02/2011 17:43

I had DH quite bemused earlier as I was quitting him about the superbowl, when it was in and if we'd be able to watch it.

It has just occurred to me I don't actually know for sure what sport it is - American Football, yes?

PassTheTwiglets · 05/02/2011 17:45

Yes, the Superb Owl is American Football. I couldn't face sitting through all that - far better to wait til it's over and then watch the ad on YouTube!

MrsLucasNorth · 05/02/2011 17:48

I probably will do that as apparently it's on quite late tomorrow and I seem to be terminally knackered at the moment - only 9 working days til half term, thank God!

Did you read all of that 2nd fanfic Twigs, it goes on forever...

PassTheTwiglets · 05/02/2011 17:51

I... ahem... skimmed it for the good bits Blush

I can't believe I just admitted that :o

MrsLucasNorth · 05/02/2011 17:54

Shouldn't worry Twigs, my approach hasn't been that different, although my phone ran out of battery halfway through chapter 10. Have since rebooted and had a quick look at 11 but saving 12 for later Grin!

MrsLucasNorth · 05/02/2011 17:57

While we're on the subject, Phoenix, in your capacity as the Academy's soft porn literature consultant, have you come across any decent Lucas or John Porter fanfic?

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 05/02/2011 18:06

I deny everything!

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 05/02/2011 18:24

If you sign up to that fanfic archive I told you about some while ago, there's plenty Lucas fic on there . There's less JP fic around but I do know of one or two decent examples...will look up some of both from stuff that isn't behind a wall.

MrsLucasNorth · 05/02/2011 18:27

I've just found an epic 20 chapter job with JP from the writer if the Lovelace fanfic.

I may be gone some time...Grin

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 05/02/2011 19:11

That must be Truce, I am guessing, Mrs LN - that is one I was going to recommend. I haven't read the last part myself, last time I looked it wasn't quite finished, but she may have completed it by now.

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 05/02/2011 19:26

Here's a Lucas/OC fanfic The Gruinard Project - this is rated "M". OC=Other Character. This is in a Spooks fanfic archive and I think there are some other Lucas ones there too. It's quite long.

N.B. A lot of Spooks fanfic is Harry/Ruth so there's probably a lot of that in that archive and H/R is somewhere I personally never go. However the writer of Gruinard has written several RA character fics including one with JP and at least one with John Standring - now Sparkhouse fanfic is quite hard to find but it does exist, same with The Golden Hour.

MrsLucasNorth · 05/02/2011 19:30

It is Truce! I have spent forever just getting back to the beginning of it. Have read a couple of chapters along the way...Grin

At the moment I have 3 windows open on my phone - Mumsnet sandwiched between Guy & JP fanfic Blush

MrsLucasNorth · 05/02/2011 19:32

When you say Harry/Ruth fanfic do you mean what I think you mean?

Good luck to them but...

Theresaholeinyourmind · 05/02/2011 19:39

Evening ladies. I have just spent a few very pleasant moments catching up on all the fashion and literature news. Am loving the shirts and Twiggy's coat.

A tip for the ladies who get caught out on their browser history by ther DCs. IE8 allows you to switch on what they call inPrivate browsing, and nothing then goes into your history. I know this because I once wanted to be the tea lady at MI5 but they turned me down.

I have had the most weird day as I have been a bit poorly and had to go to bed but I must have been having the same trouble as MrsLN with series 3 Guy, the outfit and, well I did glance at some of the fanfic, I suppose that had something to do with it.

So I have to say that having an excruciating headache makes no difference, I still couldn't get the most interesting thoughts about him out of my head. It's a bit much when you can't even be ill in peace Grin
''Go away, I have a headache...''
''Yes, but...whisper whisper''
Aaaargh!!!
