Just in case we need new premises tonight... :)

Morning, ladies. ROFL about "it was all the kitten's fault", Techno! :) I don't feel I can forgive Guy for all his horridness but some of it I can excuse. For example, his kebabbing of Marian at the end - you can see he is out of control and has been driven to it by his passion/anger (that's just to explain it, of course, not to forgive it). Yet other times he is just plain horrid and he has calmly intended to do the hoirrid thing in question, like the baby in the forest thing.

Gosh, last night we had the glove-biting and Fallen Angel Face scene. It actually works better in the YT vids, out of context, I think!

Social Network - blah. I fell asleep when we saw it at the cinema. I know everyone else loves it though (and I was exhausted at the time).

Thanks for linking to that sound clips site again, Theresa, as I didn't get a chance to listen last time and then the link was lost in the midsts of time. I have bookmarked it now :) Proof that it's not just me with "close your eyes" then, as it's one of the first clips on there :)

Now, to the most important point from last night. Theresa. Your DC made you coffee and brought it to you?!?! What an angel! Unless he or she is at least 15 then I am in awe! :)

Obviously Gizzy wouldn't decapitate a little fluffy-wuffy kitten. He'll have found the body and axe while riding masterfully through the forest and have bought it back for a decent burial...

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 22/01/2011 12:32

You just carry on believing that, MrsLN.

::rolls eyes:: ::winks::

MrsLucasNorth · 22/01/2011 12:54

But he didn't, did he?! Grin

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 22/01/2011 12:56

But he was willing to do it. The thud-inducing leather-clad cad.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 22/01/2011 13:09

Hi everyone. Glad you enjoyed the soundbites, Twiggy, there are some gems on there and no mistake. Was there some Mr Thornton ones for Techno? There should be, he says some very wibble-worthy things after all. but atm I am too lazy and pushed for time to check.

Twiggy, I feel the same way as you do over Guy and his dark side. Even the worst things you can sort of explain, if there are things you cannot excuse. Men in those days didn't think the same way as we do about babies. Life was pretty cheap. Gawd help 'em, some men today are just as bad.

TBH I don't think Robin and his men would have been all that much better, if it had happened in real life and not in a TV show where they wanted to demonstrate that Guy was not just playing at being a baddie. Just as earlier they had Roy killed off so you could see the outlaws were in very real danger, rather than just a merry frolic, with lots of quips and cheeky-chappieness.

Anyway, my take on it will continue to be that Guy was very bad indeed as he used his own baby as a convenient asset to help trap the outlaws, rather than deliberately plan to leave him to die. If he had died, he might have looked on it as collateral damage, though. Sad

I know, Techno, I know. but he's a fictional character. it's my right to tweak him as much as I like Grin

Theresaholeinyourmind · 22/01/2011 13:11

Pudsey? It was the bear's fault for wearing that spotty kerchief. Red rags to bulls, and all that...

Theresaholeinyourmind · 22/01/2011 13:13

I can see MrsLN's face now at the thought of tweaking Guy Grin

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 22/01/2011 13:15

Tweaking? Tweaking would be the least of it.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 22/01/2011 13:28

I suppose it would, Techno. If not quite in the way you meant it, maybe.

TheSmallPrint · 22/01/2011 13:36

Hello, just pooping in to say the otulaws are here so can't be around too much. Hopefully off to the cinema tonight if we can get in - will report back...

Have fun.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 22/01/2011 14:18

Well, maybe I should offer a bit of culture after all my unworthy stuff. Trouble is. YT won't let me watch it, but it's read by Mr Armitage.

Hopefully you will have better luck with YT than I do, and approve...

If the link doesn't work, try going to the one where he reads the Hughes letters and look on the right for the CODE poem.

MrsLucasNorth · 22/01/2011 14:39

Theresa I posted that on one of the early threads - it's beautiful.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 22/01/2011 15:39

Can anyone point me to where I can find the text of that poem, then? My imagination is quite good with sounds, as well as pictures.

MrsLucasNorth · 22/01/2011 16:37

The life that I have is all that I have
And the life that I have is yours

The love that I have of the life that I have is yours and yours and yours

A sleep I shall have, a rest I shall have, yet death will be but a pause
For the peace of my years in the long green grass will be yours and yours and yours...

I know it by heart

MrsLucasNorth · 22/01/2011 16:45

Actually bought Leo Marks autobiography in the charity shop a couple of weeks ago. God only knows when I'll get round to reading it mind you.

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 22/01/2011 20:22

::Pokes head round door::

Anyone about?

Meg from RH has just shown up in Merlin. Talk about recycling.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 22/01/2011 20:25

Beautiful indeed, MrsLN. No wonder you know it by heart

My imagination did its best with it and it was no doubt a pale shadow of the original, but good all the same.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 22/01/2011 20:28

Hi Techno. How are you this fine evening?

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 22/01/2011 20:32

Am well. Spent afternoon with TechnoGirly on a (very small) shopping spree.

Comment ca va ce soir au pays du Limpopo?

Theresaholeinyourmind · 22/01/2011 20:33
has some nice moments, including the sunlight through twiglets one
Theresaholeinyourmind · 22/01/2011 20:36

Very boring au pays de Limpopo. Rien du tout on the telly and no chance to get a DVD on, a cause du footie.Did you buy anything nice? I daren't go to the shops for a while after the other day

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 22/01/2011 20:55

Oh yes. Some excellent smouldering and wistful yearning there.

::swoons onto the chaise longue::

Too bad about the telly being taken up with football. Still, there is always the stately pleasure dome that is Mumsnet.

We bought ballet shoes and other odds and ends. Did you buy anything on your recent jaunt? I thought it was just a browsing session.

::Worries that Theresa may have succumbed to Slippery Credit Card Finger Virus::

Or do you mean that other one of the world's great rivers?

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 22/01/2011 20:55

Hello? Anyone there?

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 22/01/2011 21:02

Hello, Phoenix. Wassup?
