Just in case we need new premises tonight... :)

Gizzy has just requested to follow me on Twitter! Grin

Theresaholeinyourmind · 21/01/2011 17:14

Don't know which episode, Phoenix but have heard him say it, the cad. And OK I admit it, I'd rub his feet for him. He has very nice feet.

Golly, wait till Techno gets in, she will be so disappointed with me.
but to quote Muse

I thought I was a fool for no one
But ooh, baby I'm a fool for you

Mrs LN tell Twitter Gizzy that in order for you to give permission he has to BEG And leave his boots on Grin

(And admit he's Kevin and Perry's friend Darren from Runcorn.)

PassTheTwiglets · 21/01/2011 17:55

I have seen that Annie episode then. Funnily enough, I did wonder if you meant that one but as he was more cruel to the baby than to her, I thought perhaps you were talking about another episode where he did something nasty to her. I did find all that rather upsetting and had to gloss over it, fingers in ears "la la la, I can't hear you" stylee. I love him when he's being arrogant and manly/bossy, but I don't feel the same as you about the violence, Theresa. Still, give me time :) I did note that Annnie said "he has a side he can't show". Does he ever show it?

Theresaholeinyourmind · 21/01/2011 18:11

He does to Marion, Twiggy. He goes down on his knees to her and practically begs her to love him. The look in his eyes and the way he says ''Please!'' would break your heart.

PassTheTwiglets · 21/01/2011 18:17

Oh, bless him!!!

Stupid girl! (and which ep is that, just so I can, y'know, prioritise...)

Theresaholeinyourmind · 21/01/2011 18:29

He also decided to die at her side in Nottingham when John's men come to raze the twon in punishment for the sheriff's loss. though he has been offered safe conduct out of there.

It's the one where he rides out at sunset looking like one of those romantic paintings of Sir Lancelot.

I am not too fond of Marion

Theresaholeinyourmind · 21/01/2011 18:35

MrsLN I can't remember which episode, sorry, towards the end of S2 I guess.

You can hear him say 'please' and other things, here

You should also check out their pic of the day...

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 21/01/2011 20:36

I love the RANet pic of the day - I must request one again soon.

Rub my feet is on that list, Theresa - also "Close your eyes" and I love the way he says "Clarissa Harlow the virtue of all your sex depends on you alone"

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 21/01/2011 20:44

Gizzy is quite good fun on Twitter, but he can be a bit of a wuss...he also has some strange animal companions...

Theresaholeinyourmind · 21/01/2011 20:48

I love the way he says most things. Phoenix!
A voice has never affected me that way, no one's has come remotely near it.

On a totally different level, I have just been listening to RA read from Ted Hughes's letters and it is so well done. I didn't post a link as was so sad and it seemed out of place amid all our droolings.

Talking of which, and back to the less worthy Grin what kind of photo are you thinking of requesting next from RANet?

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 21/01/2011 21:24

Oh you know - this kind of photo...

or this or

even this

Actually that last one is extremely nice, might go for that..

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 21/01/2011 21:28

Request sent!!!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 21/01/2011 21:34

All nicer than nice, Phoenix, I can see how you might be spoilt for choice.

I nearly got caught out just now, having a thud at JP. One of the kids leaning over the lappie to put down a cup of coffee for me. I am loving that steely determined look, there.
Mind you, a shirtless Guy is not to be sneezed at.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 21/01/2011 22:04
that is quite pretty, if anyone is interested. What about the music? Tastes vary so. but you can always watch with the sound turned off, if need be.
PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 21/01/2011 22:14

Looks like my Pic of the Day will be in Monday!!!

Got a #FF from TLN!!

Hubby still not back but didn't want to risk the second half of BtS because he could walk in anytime!! So I've decided not to risk it and I'm watching the Social Network instead!! Looks good!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 21/01/2011 22:36

I shall look out for JP on Monday then.

Is Social Network the Facebook movie?

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 21/01/2011 23:07

Good evening ladies.

I am, as you suspected Theresa, greatly amused (and not a little appalled) by the collective will to excuse and minimise everything that Guy does. Leaving his son to die in the forest? No big deal. Stringing his poor deluded mother along with stories about how he'd marry her if only she were of noble stock, when clearly such finer feelings as he has are reserved for Marian? Oh well.

::knocks back the Chateau Gizzy and hoicks up dungarees::

Theresaholeinyourmind · 21/01/2011 23:12
LaVieEnTechnicolor · 21/01/2011 23:16

Perhaps, Theresa, in the manner of a medieval saint, you need to spend some time reflecting on the nature of truth and beauty.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 21/01/2011 23:26

I see you are carefully editing out the Beeb's addition to the Gaskell version of the Thornton charaterisation, ie the kicking the s**t out of the worker scene. As you are quite justified in doing.

I suppose we are too easy on Guy because we feel he has good in him somewhere deep down. Though would we be as kind if he were plug-ugly? Being brutally honest with myself here.

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 21/01/2011 23:32

I haven't edited out Mr Thornton's, shall we say, imperfections but it is true my assessment of his character and its shortcomings is based more on Mrs Gaskell than on the Beeb. Nonetheless, I think that gazing at that fine icon would enable one to reflect on the nature of truth and beauty, even if the icon's own truth and beauty is somewhat compromised.

Your last point hits the nail on the head, I think. Generalising wildly, women are so quick to excuse bad behaviour by a handsome man or one who professes love.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 21/01/2011 23:44

In that case, other icons of even more compromised truth and beauty might be such a visual aid.

I know, I kmow.

I am sure if Guy were real and we knew him, we wouldn't be so keen.

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 21/01/2011 23:49

Indeed they could. The possibilities are almost endless.

Are you sure? I'm not quite. I suspect that if Guy were to turn up with a blood-stained axe in one hand and the body of a decapitated kitten in the other, there would be someone trying to argue that it was all the kitten's fault.

Well, off to bed now. Sweet iconic dreams.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 21/01/2011 23:53

ah yes, the lovely and equally flawed Lucas?John.

I guess it's biology. I read somewhere about this liking women have for a bad boy. For the fun bit on the side, that is, so you can pinch his genes, with a nice quiet gentleman for the family home.

I am sure it can't possibly true.

Sweet dreams to you too. Sleep tight!
