Just in case we need new premises tonight... :)

OP posts:

Evening ladies. I see you have been doing some indepth research this evening, some lovely shots on here, the potrait one is still open on another tab and I'm wondering how to save it to my phone...

Do we have new premises yet?

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 30/01/2011 20:48

Eeek, Theresa. That's awful. His facial expression is quite upsetting (and I'll overlook the baby oil fake sweat).

I just found this, which might raise a smile.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 30/01/2011 20:55

What do you mean, smile, Techno? I used to have a hat like that and still have the sunglasses. Come to think of it that could well be me. If it wasn't for the must-have fashion item on the left, however, which I have so far been unable to source. As they say in the biz.

Of course the expression on his face is bad, so would yours be if you were being barbecued.

No new premises yet, Small. Do you want to do the honours this time?

Sorry I am no help with phone stuff

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 30/01/2011 21:00

Yep, it's the fashion accessory's facial expression - which seems to be saying "is this sufficiently brooding for you?" - which I thought might raise a smile. I am sure Ros would kick ass in that hat, as she did in everything else. The picture puts me in mind a little of another sleuth couple.

TheSmallPrint · 30/01/2011 21:01

I would happily T but I have no imagnation and would have to think Very Hard for a good name..

Theresaholeinyourmind · 30/01/2011 21:01

PS was sort of joking about the hat, mine was rather less exhuberant...

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 30/01/2011 21:02

Ach. Why did my last link not work?

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 30/01/2011 21:03

OK. May I commission the new premises?

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 30/01/2011 21:04

Being Human on now on BBC3 - also big breaking news in movies is that Henry Cavill (The Tudors) has been cast as the new Superman.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 30/01/2011 21:05

Fancy my noticing a hat rather than the divine Lucas' facial expresssion. Shock
Bless. Brooding must get to be an awful bore, at times

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 30/01/2011 21:05

Yes - go ahead Techno - we're running out of space..

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 30/01/2011 21:07

I like the fact that the jaw is brooding granite but the eyes are twinkling and amused. An interesting juxtaposition, I think.

::Remembers that this is supposed to be a university and so words like juxtaposition must be de rigueur::

Theresaholeinyourmind · 30/01/2011 21:10

Do go ahead with the real estate, Techno.

Now how about that for project for Mr Armitage?

The Even Newer Avengers.

With Hermione in the Diana Rigg/ Joanna Lumley role?

Theresaholeinyourmind · 30/01/2011 21:13

yeah, Techno, the juxataposition, like, brings out the dichotomy, innit.

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 30/01/2011 21:17

New premises, much like the old premises.

I thought perhaps we needed the word Armitage in the title, in case any itinerant student wishes to pop in for intellectual sustenance. Anyway, hope you like it.

Mr Armitage as Steed? How delicious, especially with bowler hat and furled umbrella.

Mr Armitage as Superman in tights and spray-on t-shirt?

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 30/01/2011 21:19

PS I think it represents a paradigm shift, Theresa.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 30/01/2011 21:26

It might be a nice change to be light-hearted, though one would hope he would be allowed the odd brood.

Didn't Percy have a bowler hat of sorts?

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 30/01/2011 21:28

And a wing collar!

::swoons::

Theresaholeinyourmind · 30/01/2011 21:33

Great idea about the Armitage on the signboard. Techno, we were getting a bit recherche, perhaps. (how does one do an acute accent on here?)

He is far too elegant for Superman which is maybe as well because after the Speedos I don't think I could survive the Superman outfit.

MrsLucasNorth · 30/01/2011 21:42

"...get to use both body and voice to the max"

Now there's a though to go to bed with Wink!

I kind of had my first RA dream last night - I was reading an article about him in a magazine and could kind of sense that he was standing behind me - I was just about to turn round when DD woke me up...Biscuit

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 30/01/2011 21:44

Hmm. It's tricky. I never post his full name because I don't want my insane witterings insightful analysis to pop up on all and sundry's google search but, on the other hand, it's always fun when we attract new students and if the title is too obscure they might not know what we're about.
We've had some fantastic and very funny titles - I was particularly fond of the Nicholas Higgins Library - and I do like recherché.

I'm sure there's some way of doing it with the control key, but the only way I know of doing any accent on here is by writing it in Word and C&P it in. I seldom bother.

::My old French teacher would be aghast::

Theresaholeinyourmind · 30/01/2011 21:51

Sacré Bleu!

Was your teacher a teacher of old French or was he an old teacher of French?

Ha! it worked!

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 30/01/2011 22:00

Hélas!

She is my old as in former teacher of French, although I suppose by now she is old old, too. She would never have tolerated a misplaced accent - there was none of this new-fangled it doesn't matter as long as the meaning is clear malarkey when I was at skool. I suspect she would have attended the sort of university where Old French would have been on the curriculum, but we never studied it.

That reminds me of a story our English teacher told of going to a library (probably the Bodleian) to look at a document and being told it would be no use to her as it was in Anglo-Saxon, to which she cheerily replied "that will be fine, I read Anglo-Saxon".

MrsLucasNorth · 30/01/2011 22:05

Am just browsing bedding on Debenhams website - have found duvet designs names Halston (nearly), Grid & Gisela - wonder if they have a designer who is lurking on here?
