Not first up then, I see :) How are you, MrsP? I feel strangely awake - didn't get to sleep til after 1.30am but DS was kind enough to sleep until 7,45am which is infinitely better than his usual 5.30am! How nice of TTL to give you a personal HNY - I think I missed him by a few mins :( Tee hee, whenever I tweet TTL I feel the need to immediately tweet something else, so that my Lucas tweet isn't the one that shows up whenever anybody looks at my page :o

MrsLucasNorthPole · 01/01/2011 08:50

I normally don't get a look in with TTL - now have had a tweet 2 days running which is rather nice. Am off John Porter at the moment - all this business with Danny rather defeats the object....

My DD didn't stay up, although we had people letting off fireworks here when she went to bed at 7.30 which was a bit of a pita. Was not so bad later on though.

I went to bed after Jools finished at 1.15 - am not feeling remotely awake and would happily go back to bed. Instead I'm about to.be.subjected to sticker books and Toy Story 3.

Need to get everything ready for school and de-tip the place later too - the fun is clearly well and truly over!

MrsLucasNorthPole · 01/01/2011 08:55

LOL at your dream! He made a fleeting and insignificant appearance in one of mine a few days ago. How come I can have rude dreams about people I don't fancy at all, but don't get have one with RA in?

It's not as if I don't do my homework...Grin

Re. 'defeats the object' - you've hit the nail squarely on the head there. LOL at "it's not as if I don't do my homework" :)

Am dreading school on Tuesday. As if getting everything ready and the actual school run weren't bad enough, DD hates school and has real problems at drop-off; she is in tears most days (so bad that am on the verge of home-schooling). And DS starts the nursery class at the school on Thursday too! Waaaah, how is my baby ready for school?! I'm only going to send him 2 mornings a week, but still... I don't think I will be able to cope if I have both DCs sobbing for me at the school gates :( I will need lots of distraction next week - are you listening, boys? Pretty Spy Man, Dr Crinkles, Wolfie and Dear Johnny, you will need to make yourself available at my behest.

MrsLucasNorthPole · 01/01/2011 10:39

Bless - big week for you then Twiglets! Will your 2 be at the same school then? At least that makes it easier from a practical pov. Why's DD not so keen? I must admit I love the idea of home-schooling but not working isn't an option for me at the moment and luckily DD loves school - she spends all her time at home playing schools with her teddies and wants to be a teacher when she grows up.

My DD is back in Tuesday too (as are me & H) - she is also starting keyboard lessons Tuesday after school, and French club on Thursdays, although not sure if that's this week or next. Personally I think it's a bit much at 6 (she does a couple of other things too), but the in-laws gave her a keyboard for Xmas and booked her a dozen lessons then told us on Christmas Eve! She's always on the go and she wants to do it all so we'll see...

PassTheTwiglets · 01/01/2011 10:58

They'll be at the same school, yes. It will be annoying but good for my diet 'cos I will have to walk to the school and back 4 times a day!! DD doesn't mind school but she can't cope with being away from me :(

Hope you don't mind going back to school too much (and everyone else who has to go back to work).

MrsLucasNorthPole · 01/01/2011 11:03

I can't say as I'm overwhelmed at the thought, but that's mainly cos we're kicking off with an inset day and they are excrutiatingly tedious! Will be ok once the kids are back and its proper work.

My DD is a mummy's girl too. It drives me nuts sometimes but I love it really! Grin

Have you always been at home FT with your 2?

PassTheTwiglets · 01/01/2011 14:00

Yes, always been full-time SAHM here.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 01/01/2011 14:13

Well done Twiggy and MrsLNP for getting in in the actual morning, after last night's madhouse.

I had to LOL at your dreams, both of you. Maybe your subconscious has realised you couldn't deal with a full-on RA one so has dumbed them down to what it thinks you could cope with.

I had one or two dreams very early on, but they were clearly about Guy rather than the Man.

And I have to say he was totally Guy, but just there so to speak, I didn't have any interaction with him. Was so surprised the first time as I have never much dreamed about my crushes, that I shocked myself awake. And he was still there when I went back to sleep. Twice!! Since then, a mere sighting in the distance once or twice. So I guess my subconscious is playing it safe too...

I have been thinking what with all this wonderful stuff about Santas' New Toy. It seems a very expensive and complicated machine to offer to the public at large. So maybe the elves should develop a simpler version for next Christmas -- a sort of Technicolour Dream machine. You put on a teensy little headset, pop in the dream cassette of your choice, rather like a DVD, and away you go.

BTW, I have to say that Missy's final post of last night was, ahem, pants.

Hi Holly - how are you feeling today?

I have just returned to LOTN - get Gisela and her runes - if only modern day men where that easy to convince!

Grin
MrsLucasNorthPole · 01/01/2011 14:36

I mean were not where - listening to all this Anglo-saxon is affecting my spelling!

Theresahollyinyourmind · 01/01/2011 14:53

Nicely wrecked, thank you, MrsLNP! All that and no alcohol involved, what a cheap date I would be!

I really need to give Uthred the attention he deserves as he is a poppet despite all the sword-brandishing stuff, but every night I just fall to sleep within five minutes of putting the damn thing on.

OP posts:
Theresahollyinyourmind · 01/01/2011 14:53

aroused I mean. must be the Ango-Saxon, as you say

I had the most sublime hour of the holidays ealier today. It was my turn for a lie-in but instead I snuggled under the duvet and listened to an hour of Venetia. Ah, bliss. I literally had smile on my face at the fabness of it all. I like Damerel far more than Lovelace, RA's voice for him is more thuddy than the biggest thud in Thudville. It really gives me goosepimples (or 'two swimming pools', as DD usd to think the phrase was!) If his voice were any more lascivious he'd sound like Leslie Phillips but it is pitched pretty damned perfectly as it is!

MrsLucasNorthPole · 01/01/2011 17:39

Damerel is gorgeous! Have you got to Chapter 9 yet?

Theresahollyinyourmind · 01/01/2011 17:50

ROFL, why does Twitter seem to think I'd want to follow Naxos Audiobooks?

I am ashamed to admit I absolutely luuurve Lovelace when he's all purry. But agree about the swoon-tasticness of Lord D

OP posts:
PassTheTwiglets · 01/01/2011 17:50

Um, I don't think so. Well, the fact that I am not sure means that I probably haven't, I presume :) I finished the 1st CD and fell asleep whilst listening to the start of the 2nd CD (hi, Holls! :) )

I love the fact that Venetia is 25 and "very nearly on the shelf" :o

PassTheTwiglets · 01/01/2011 17:51

I feel the same about Lovelace, Holls, but the voice for Damerel is way more thudworthy, pour moi.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 01/01/2011 17:56

To me,Lovelace's voice is like Heineken, Twigs. >

OP posts:
MrsLucasNorthPole · 01/01/2011 18:14

Twigs you still have chapter 9 to look forward to then. Make sure you're sitting down but don't fall asleep!

Hols I love Lovelace too, even when he's being very bad. I have managed to develop a kind of selective listening ability that tunes out both Clarissa and the context and makes him considerably more pleasant to listen to.

PassTheTwiglets · 01/01/2011 18:16

Ah, see I don't like Heineken :) Lovelace does make me thud too - especially the way he pronounces his name "loveless", for some reason.

Just had a look at the sleeve-notes of the Venetia CD and apparently I am 35 mins away from Chapter 9. I think I know what I will be doing once the sprogs are in bed :)

Theresahollyinyourmind · 01/01/2011 18:25

Lots of lovely fun for you in store then, Twigs. I wonder if there are any thud-worthy moments in the other ones.
Did you get Naxos recommended for you on Twitter, btw?

OP posts:
PassTheTwiglets · 01/01/2011 18:36

No, I haven't had , Holly. I only seem to get randomers following me (who I always block). I did beg SirGuy but he doesn't seem to post in character as far as I've seen so far.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 01/01/2011 18:42

They only put Naxos in the suggestion list, Twigs, but I was just wondering how they threw that up.
How disappointing that Sir Guy doesn't post in character, it would have been more fun if he did. But then which one of the personae do? TTL is not really like Spooks Lucas. Or is there something I don't know? Grin

OP posts:
PassTheTwiglets · 01/01/2011 18:44

Lucas used to post in character but no more. Some of the other Spooks do - Harry is fab but not around much.

I think I may have got John Porter back for us though :)
