Oh there's hundreds of John Porters! CBA to search through all of them...

Theresaholeinyourmind · 09/01/2011 12:10

Mornin' ladiez, to use a JP term.
Poor Oyster, I had to laugh a little at her dilemma, while cringing madly for her. Not so much Toy Story as Toy Boy Story Grin
It is indeed a pity we don't have our own private world to meet in, but on reflection maybe the public aspect of it deters us from the wilder shores of unreason.

Off now to be quite mad enough. Teri was miffed she wasn't going to be in my latest bit of rubbish and has taken advantage of an unexpected menfolk absence by going about all morning practising her contribution though I told her a hundred times it was not appropriate.

If I don't let her do it she will mess up MrsLN's masterly oeuvre. sigh.

MrsLucasNorth · 09/01/2011 12:14

Perhaps the DJ at the Academy Christmas party had better get some Lady Marmalade on the decks pronto?

:o at "Toy Boy Story"

Theresaholeinyourmind · 09/01/2011 12:20

Great idea MrsLN We have to have some cabaret for the boys after they've come all the way from Lapland to see us.

But Teri's intentions are even worse than LM I fear. In a more tacky than lewd direction, I hasten to say.
I''ll just have to go with the flow.

asmallbunchofflowers · 09/01/2011 12:45

::Wonders where Teri gets her inspiration from. Is she, perhaps, being led astray by a close, ahem, friend?::

::Practices her moves with a marabou fan::

Theresaholeinyourmind · 09/01/2011 13:14

Teri amazes me too sometimes, Flowers. I like to think she was a harmless chit, till Gizzy rccked up in his leathers, all mean, moody and delicious.

PrairieOyster · 09/01/2011 13:44

John Porter I am friends with. I'm on there in a variation of my Twitter name, for various reasons.

PrairieOyster · 09/01/2011 13:53

Sorry that may be the mobile version of the FB page

PrairieOyster · 09/01/2011 13:58

Btw the FB characters are not like the ones on Twitter with all the banter etc

Theresaholeinyourmind · 09/01/2011 14:11

So what is the idea behind it, Oyster? Just a gathering of people who enjoy the character?

asmallbunchofflowers · 09/01/2011 14:54

What does one gain from befriending Mr Thornton on FB?

::finger poised::

Theresaholeinyourmind · 09/01/2011 15:43

I bet our versions of Mr Thornton and the rest of the boys are far more fun than the FB ones

However I am willing to be persuaded otherwise.

Flowers, have you succumbed yet?

PrairieOyster · 09/01/2011 15:52

Well they (and others) post photos/videos etc just like normal FB and people comment on them, that's about as exciting as it gets, I'm afraid! There are some fan pages and groups as well, as I am sure you know.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 09/01/2011 15:55

Hmm I think we are more fun.
I see we are getting near that time again.
Oyster or someone else, would you care to do the honours and open a new thread?
Or is it too early yet?

asmallbunchofflowers · 09/01/2011 15:57

Nah. I can see that there is fun to be had in talking on Twitter to people who are in character as fictional characters (although the in character bit seems to rule out TTL), but it's not what I want to do. There seems (to me) far less point in just being FB friends with Mr So-called Thornton or whoever, as it's even less of a conversation. As ever, I'm willing to be persuaded differently.

. As Mr Jagger so memorably said, get your yayas out.
PrairieOyster · 09/01/2011 16:04

Guy Gisborne on FB

I think its more about the community on FB for me, rather than just being friends with fictional characters. I come across people in all sorts of places, forum, blogs, Twitter, etc and FB is just an extension of that, albeit a more personal one.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 09/01/2011 16:17

TTL is a whole world in himself, Flowers. Planet Runcorn, if you will.

The show is doing well, rehearsals are going fine and Gizzy and the others are looking out their best bibs and tuckers for the evening.

I am so glad you ladies stepped up to the plate as they say across the pond, the story works so much better now with your contributions. The less said about Teri's the better.

This would have made a great RH episdoe don't you think? If they can have a casino, they can have the Moulin Rouge , surely.

StripeyMoon · 09/01/2011 17:37

Evening ladies, I see you have been busy again- loved the last installment of Santa but am still waiting for Xmas pressie Wink.

After all your talk I feel very conscious of how much I have outed myself on these threads Blush I forget sometimes that it is a public arena. I fear now I will have to disappear!!

MrsLucasNorth · 09/01/2011 17:45

Don't disappear Snowy! I've pretty much given myself sway, but I don't know anyone who Mumsnet's in RL (unless they're all fibbing!)

PrairieOyster · 09/01/2011 17:53

Lucas North on FB.

One way to have a less public discussion would be to create a secret FB group...just a thought

We're running out of space here - yikes!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 09/01/2011 17:55

Look, ladies, whoever is going to have the patience to trawl through all our rubbish anyway? If you are not a fan, all this is just boring drivel.

PassTheTwiglets · 09/01/2011 18:05

I'm not really bothered about being outed - besides, I have hardly any RL friends anyway [violins] :)

StripeyMoon · 09/01/2011 18:10

I don't know anyone on here from RL either Mrs LN but there must be someone surely?! Maybe I need a new name, does a new name link you back to old threads?

Theresa that is how I am trying to reassure myself!!

Oyster I barely go on FB as I feel more exposed there, I also feel like I am too old to be on it.

However I love the silliness witty banter of you wonderful ladies so do not really want to disappear (unless I am thinking of my own sanity!) so has anyone started a new thread yet?!!

StripeyMoon · 09/01/2011 18:13
