I understand completely about all that, Flowers, it seems far to stalkerish to pursue information that keenly.

And you know my chief field of interest in this forum, I won't restate the obvious.
I need to keep the focus of my madness narrow if am going to be able to cope with it!

And yes, everyone here is clever and witty and funny and fun and the sort of little virtual world we have built up here is a hoot.

It's all done me a world of good, I can tell you...

I expect you are off to sleep by now! Wishing you a peaceful night..

MrsLucasNorth · 09/01/2011 00:24

Flowers - I'm glad you're still loving the thread - me too! And as much as I adore all the RA stuff, the other cultural gubbins and the cameraderie are just as much what it's all about for me.

If Mr A were to visit the south coast while I was out and about with my DD, I would have to face exactly the same mortification as you!

MrsLucasNorth · 09/01/2011 00:26

I have to confess, though, that my fantasies involve the man himself as much, if not more than, the characters Blush

At least my lot have no idea, so my only problem would be myself!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 09/01/2011 00:31

Understandable MrsLN, I just can not go there myself Grin Guy is safer! Which is sort of ironic, given the temper and the big sword but YSWIM

asmallbunchofflowers · 09/01/2011 00:36

After I posted that, Theresa, I remembered that I had seen one of the FoFs at a party. Seems a jolly sort, but launching myself at a stranger and demanding that they tell me about their jolly times in Nottamun is a step too far, even for me.

Much of the fun of MN for me, MrsLN, is getting to know people, although I know that it's a bit odd to talk of knowing people who may turn out to be Kevin and Perry from Runcorn or a random smattering of electrons across a screen. I'm wondering now if - just as everywhere the Queen goes smells of new paint - everywhere The Man goes there's the sound of small children squealing "Look mummy it's Mr Armitage. You love Mr Armitage, don't you?" and then the sound of said child being bundled out of the way.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 09/01/2011 00:45

Poor, poor Mr Armitage, how absolutely awful for him, I do hope that scenario doesn't happen.

What can we do to redress the matter for him I wonder?

Sorry!

asmallbunchofflowers · 09/01/2011 00:45

Apart from anything else, I don't feel I know enough about The Man to know whether he would rock my world (if I weren't so old and married). Very wisely, he seems to give very little of himself away in interviews, which is perhaps part of his attraction - he's a pretty (admittedly very pretty) blank canvas onto which one's fancies can be projected.

Well, it's late. Must go and find The Poet and The Crimson Petal and The White. (V good book, by the way, but some scenes are quite shocking).

asmallbunchofflowers · 09/01/2011 00:46

Eh?

Theresaholeinyourmind · 09/01/2011 00:50

You must tell me more about your book when you have time, Flowers. Amd meanwhile goodnight. And to you MrsLN if you are still there.

I do hope it's not true about Mr Armitage and the pesky kiddies, it is going to haunt me now Sad

Theresaholeinyourmind · 09/01/2011 00:52

I know it's not true really , of course!

MrsLucasNorth · 09/01/2011 00:52

That's my problem, Flowers. I was perfectly happy with Lucas until I clicked on a link to an interview with RA, and the website it was on had lots more links to lots more interviews and.... I really should have stopped myself a lot sooner than I did Blush

asmallbunchofflowers · 09/01/2011 00:56

::Looks back at you::

I doubt it's really true about the squeaking kids. It's just a feeble joke of mine (and makes me feel better by giving me false hope that it's not just me who's delinquent and other mummies are watching clips of North abd South on YT when they ought to be forcing encouraging their childer to practice the violin). I didn't see the children as pesky, just as embarrassing their mothers by revealing their Achilles heels.

But who were you apologising to?

asmallbunchofflowers · 09/01/2011 00:57

Sweet dreams one and all!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 09/01/2011 01:00

I was apologising to an imagined version of the Man, noticing all these kiddies being bundled out of the way whenever he steps out.Just running with your scenario. And the word pesky I always use in an affectionate manner. Especially as it is not said kiddies' fault.

MrsLucasNorth · 09/01/2011 07:39

Sweet dreams?

Two hours watching Spooks before bed and who do I get in mine? Ros, Connie and Harry Angry!

PrairieOyster · 09/01/2011 09:34

I like the camaraderie here as well, my only worry is that all the content is searched by Google.

BtS and Cold Feet were delivered yesterday - unfortunately due to spending the whole morning on motherly duties I forgot to check and when we left to go out for lunch, it was 'oh, what's this?' swiftly followed by cries of "Open them! Open them!" by little ones hoping for the next installment of Toy Story. I resisted thankfully but felt a bit mean...needs must however and they are now safely hidden away, still unopened!

PassTheTwiglets · 09/01/2011 10:07

Morning, morning. MrsLN, had to laugh (sorry) about your dreams of Ros & Harry!

Spooks 7.5 as birthday treat - hmmm, sounds good (that's the Mr Suity-Bank-Man one, according to Google?) Although going in mid-series would make it even more obvious that I'm only watching it for one reason :)

Theresa, sorry, I forgot about a name. I'll be Lola if we haven't had that one already ("her name was Lola, she was a showgirl...")

I'm glad everyone is still having fun with the thread. I feel the same as you, Theresa, that it's done me the world of good. I also like learning about us all but find it frustrating that we're in public and that people, understandably, don't want to out themselves. I often find myself thinking "I wonder where so-and-so lives", or "I wonder what x does for a living" etc. but then I realise I can't ask :( I wish we had our own little private corner of Mumsnet where nobody else could read us and we could all be out! The other thing that amuses me in this thread is our little in-jokes and acronyms. It makes me smile to think that a stranger reading this thread would think "huh?" when reading about BBT armour, TTL, FAF, Dr Crinkles, Runcorn and so on :)

Oyster, oops about your littlies thinking that Toy Story had arrived! Enjoy your homework when you get a chance.

MrsLN, I think I did the same as you re. being happy with Lucas until you Googled! Blimey though, how much more obsessed am I going to be after seeing Spooks 7 and 8 for the first time though?! Approx. 20 more hours of Lucasy goodness

PrairieOyster · 09/01/2011 10:22

Yeah my hubby surprised me a couple of days ago complaining about the number of emails he gets from mumsnet - I had no idea he was even a member!! Scary!!

PrairieOyster · 09/01/2011 10:33

BTW there is a little Armitage community on FB, you can friend John Porter, Guy Gisborne, Harry Kennedy, etc

asmallbunchofflowers · 09/01/2011 10:36

I am always very conscious that this is public and searchable - it's yet another reason why I am more comfortable discussing Mr Thornton and his screen brothers than The Man himself.

asmallbunchofflowers · 09/01/2011 10:46

Something to accompany the tea and toast?

MrsLucasNorth · 09/01/2011 11:18

Yes Twigs - 7.5 is the one you've Googled. Almost better than the navy blue suit though, is the whispered conversation he has with Ros in the foyer of the bank she's working at. Very much The Voice at its best (I 'rewound' it twice)!

Grin at Oyster smuggling goodies in under the radar. How on earth will you manage to watch BtS without your OH catching on?

PrairieOyster · 09/01/2011 11:50

I'm not sure yet - obviously I can wait for a time when I know he is out all evening... Might take a while to get through though.

I'm also wondering about putting it on my iPhone, episode by episode but obviously that requires time/space to enact as well, and the evidence will need to be encrypted. Perhaps now is the time to invest in a hard disk drive of my own... Decisions decisions...

He's a big Tolkien fan so at least there will be one thing in future that won't require all this cloak and dagger stuff.

PassTheTwiglets · 09/01/2011 11:53

I didn't know about the FB stuff, Oyster! I did search for Lucas on FB a while back, but there were so many... are any of them worth friending, is it someone posting in character? I'm not interested if it's just some random person with a photo but it could be amusing if they are in character.
