Welcome to our newest faculty building. Make yourselves comfortable and ignore the smell of paint. We cannot keep up with the demand for new premises.

forgot to say, that RA actually features for about 3 seconds around the 1:52 point.

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 13/12/2010 12:35

That's delightful, MrsLNP. If we are having a fruit theme I'll leave it to someone else to provide the peaches and nectarines but will offer this.

This is just to say

I have eaten
the plums
that were in
the icebox

and which
you were probably
saving
for breakfast

Forgive me
they were delicious
so sweet
and so cold

I have no idea what Prince Valiant is/was about but will study teacups' important new resource once I am back from Ikea.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 13/12/2010 12:38

Lovely poetry. Sigh. I am feeling a bit cynical today and can't help reflecting that some of the blokes that wrote such lovely stuff didn't seem to act on such beautiful sentiments in RL.
Shakespeare abandoned his wife and kids in Straford, and Ted Hughes led Sylvia Plath a merry dance. Then there's bad boy Byron, and others I am too lazy to dredge up from that hole in my mind.

Why why why, all talk the talk and no walk the walk. Could it all be a big con?

I am so good, I watched a whole vid about Bobbin for the sake of 3 seconds of Guy. Confused I guess that's infatuation...

Theresahollyinyourmind · 13/12/2010 12:40

Poetry about peaches? I only know the song.

OP posts:
vintageteacups · 13/12/2010 12:43

I'm infatuated by that song though Smile. Unfortuntately couldn't find any vids on youtube playing it with RA Sad

Theresahollyinyourmind · 13/12/2010 12:43

Stop press. this by Peter Davidson, I kid you not

A mouthful of language to swallow:
stretches of beach, sweet clinches,
breaches in walls, bleached branches;
britches hauled over haunches;
hunches leeches, wrenched teachers.

What English can do: ransack
the warmth that chuckles beneath
fuzzed surfaces, smooth velvet
richness, splashy juices.
I beseech you, peach,
clench me into the sweetness
of your reaches.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 13/12/2010 12:47

Maybe you could have the two vids going with the song behind your favoured visuals, with its sound muted,Teacups.

It was Davison , sorry

OP posts:
vintageteacups · 13/12/2010 12:51

sounds technical theresaholly....

Theresahollyinyourmind · 13/12/2010 12:59

If I can do it, anyone can. I found out how to do it by accident. Youtube going in two windows, one behind the other. You click on the little loudspeaker at the left hand side of the one that has the vid you want to see,to turn the sound off. Then you can run your other vid which will be behind the one you are watching, but will give you the audio. Not very good as the synch will be off but it gives you a taste.

OP posts:
vintageteacups · 13/12/2010 13:33

hmm - okay will give it a go.

vintageteacups · 13/12/2010 13:43

OMG!!!!
Okay - so I have now done what theres a said and it SOOOO worked. I'm all flustered now Blush.

play the Prince valiant theme as posted above to this vid.....

Perfectamondo Grin

Theresahollyinyourmind · 13/12/2010 13:59

Which one was it, teacups? Pesky YT/Sony won't let me access it here in Limpopo land. This is getting beyond a joke.

I am sort of hoping Missy will get Venetia from the library as it might possibly be not to her taste, it's a little light-weight. Now me, if this was a new release from Naxos:

Trolley Madly Deeply
Selections from wet and mangled shopping lists found in Morrison's carpark
read by Richard Armitage

I'd probably buy it

OP posts:
vintageteacups · 13/12/2010 14:04

it was the almost 4 mins of long, adoring glances between marion and Guy. Oh droooooooooooooooooooooooooool [winnk]

I'd buy anything (even the bible...and I'm a non believer) if it was read by RA!

Theresahollyinyourmind · 13/12/2010 14:09

Ha ha, I am such a Voice addict, I could actually hear him read out that title, in my brain.

I am even more bonkers than I thought!

OP posts:
PassTheTwiglets · 13/12/2010 14:14

LOL at 'Trolley Madly Deeply' - very clever!

I just looked in our library for Venetia but it's only available read by Sian Phillips, sulk.

MrsLucasNorthPole · 13/12/2010 14:16

You're not the only one Holly!

Theresahollyinyourmind · 13/12/2010 14:39

What are we like, MrsLNP?

DOOMED

Did you get to have your DVD session yet?
I watched Spooks 8.6. today. Poor Lucas betrayed by that awful woman, how could she. He was so upset, poor lamb.

OP posts:
MrsLucasNorthPole · 13/12/2010 15:02

Tonight's the night Holly!

Theresahollyinyourmind · 13/12/2010 15:10

Peachy! Xmas Grin

OP posts:
asmallbunchofmistletoe · 13/12/2010 15:58

Polish ..... cordial ..... please.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 13/12/2010 16:08

You are lucky there was some left, I needed lots today!

OP posts:
MrsLucasNorthPole · 13/12/2010 16:12

Save some for me - will be needing it tonight! Xmas Grin

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 13/12/2010 16:13

Have you fixed your 'puter problems now?

I was listening to this earlier. Although not every detail corresponds, it puts me in mind of poor, silly, dead Marian.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 13/12/2010 16:18

Well, still baulky as anything but I lit up the backup and it will suffice in an emergency. That is the main thing.

I will put in a large Polish Cordial order for the faculty -- looks as if it'll be needed tonight

OP posts:
asmallbunchofmistletoe · 13/12/2010 16:22

And I've just established that our libraries don't have Venetia as an audio book at all.

Offspring is watching RH instead of doing her homework. We have just had the Saucy Apple Moment. Wahay.
