Welcome to our newest faculty building. Make yourselves comfortable and ignore the smell of paint. We cannot keep up with the demand for new premises.

Missy, do remember that it might be too full of frivol for you

StripeyMoon · 13/12/2010 16:40

I came home and you had moved!!!! Shock

I have watched Strikeback.

I now must spend the next 24 hours going over what I've missed!

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 13/12/2010 16:43

I hear you, Holly. Do I really portray myself as such a humorless old trout? I have been known occasionally to have fun, y'know.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 13/12/2010 17:05

Of course not, Missy. None of those three epithets could possibly apply to you. But reared as you are in the grand tradition of N&S and beautiful poetry, Heyer may seen lacking in the deeply affecting emotional experience department. And some of the voices are rather silly. Though I think they are meant to be, says she quickly running to the defence of the august reader, who can Do No Wrong in her eyes.

Looking forward to Stripey's dissertation on
Strikeback

That beardy and jumpery link took me to some interesting places, Missy. I'd not listened to folksy stuff in a good while.

OP posts:
StripeyMoon · 13/12/2010 17:20

Well. I actually found it very gripping. It is quite gruesome and uncomfortable in many place but I really got into it. RA, of course, was his usual fabulous self and there were some rather lovely muscle shots but I got more absorbed by the plot lines and actually enjoyed it for more than the visual content aloneWink.

Definately worth the money spent and now I will be looking out for the sequel when it comes on Sky.

lovelyopaque · 13/12/2010 17:23

Ooh Stripey, what did you think? Apart from the dodgy security guard ensemble and hair, I thought it was pretty thud worthy.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 13/12/2010 17:25

By 'eck, looks like a further drain on my budget, then, Stripey. I don't think Mr Armitage is going to be in the sequel too much. Did I read two episodes, or did I dream it?

OP posts:
asmallbunchofmistletoe · 13/12/2010 17:27

Thank you for the reassurance, Holly. I am sure I could derive a deeply affecting emotional experience from Venetia. After all, I was deriving one last night from Bridget Jones' Diary. I too am agog for news of StrikeBack.

Do you still have your woolly jumper on (although I guess it may be excessive in Limpopoland)? If so, we might take a trip up to the castle in .

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 13/12/2010 17:31

Ah, we have the Strike Back critique. Should we look again at the Faculty Michelangelo?

Theresahollyinyourmind · 13/12/2010 17:38

Believe it or not it is brass elephant weather in Limpopoland at this moment in time, Holly.

What a find, with that vid! I wonder if the minstrels play that up at t'castle? It's certainly cheerful enough for the ''in'' crowd there. And the sheriff would like the bit about the naked drummer.

Re Venetia again, I just didn't want you shelling out your cash on my recommendation, then deciding you hated it.

MrsLucasNorthPole · 13/12/2010 17:40

He is beyond thud-worthy in Strikeback, and occasionally very naughty (nearly fell off the sofa with shock during the ink blot test scene - a far cry from Mr Thornton there!)

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 13/12/2010 17:43

You're Holly. I'm Missy.

Yes, the minstrels are very jolly (and a double joy that you can see it in Limpopoland). I am sure they might play their lutes at one of the sheriff's select soirees.

Don't fret about the Venetia cash (if I take the plunge). In the unlikely event I'm disappointed, I will just set it against the huge pleasure the whole fambly has derived from RH.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 13/12/2010 17:44

Oh yes, the, ahem, monologue thing, Mrs LNP. Trust me to remember such bits of gossip.

OP posts:
Theresahollyinyourmind · 13/12/2010 17:46

Ooops, shorry, too much cordial I fear, Misshy. It really put the wind up me, when I was confronted by a computer that was bumping and grinding like an exotic dancer this morning. Sho I haven't been quite the thing ever shince

OP posts:
asmallbunchofmistletoe · 13/12/2010 18:35

No worries.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 13/12/2010 18:44

Such wild abandon! Look, Missy, you even got a smile out of this gentleman

OP posts:
StripeyMoon · 13/12/2010 18:50

Yes he is very thud inducing. Very jealous of the woman whose job it was to help him get rid of his mental baggage before he left on his mission .

I think I may now need to watch it again just for a full RA critique as opposed to gettng involved in the story Grin.

Holly, each episode is 1.5 hours long so if they repeat that in the sequel I won't be complaining!!

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 13/12/2010 18:52

Well, who do you think I've been congaing with? I've got Guy in front (you should see him moooove) and Mr Thornton behind me, clasping my teeny-weeny waist in his strong elegant hands.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 13/12/2010 18:56

Stripey takes one for the team! Very noble of you to wade through all that again. And 90 minute episodes too.

Can I join the conga or have I passed the legal drink and conga limit?

OP posts:
StripeyMoon · 13/12/2010 18:56

Ah, if only missy, if only...

Theresahollyinyourmind · 13/12/2010 19:00

No wonder Guy has that naughty grin on his face, you have been getting your hot little hands on his leather-clad posterior, whenever you conga'd past a dark corner.
Hopefully Mr Thornton is too otherwisely occupied to notice.

I think Lucas and John Porter want to join in.

OP posts:
asmallbunchofmistletoe · 13/12/2010 19:02

Excellent research from Stripey there in a comparatively unexplored field.

Of course you can join the conga, Holly. Do you want to swap places with me, so that you get your hands on Guy can follow Guy's snake-hipped lead? I'll then grab Mr Thornton. Look, Stripey and that nice Mr Porter are joining in.

.
asmallbunchofmistletoe · 13/12/2010 19:06

Right, the line up for the conga as (at the time of writing) is

Leading the line, Guy, hotly pursued by
Holly
Mr Thornton
Missy
John Porter
Stripey
Lucas

Do you think that MrsLNP might be persuaded to come and clasp Lucas' lithe form? It's a long shot, but I thought I'd ask.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 13/12/2010 19:15

I think MrsLNP is otherwise engaged. Xmas Wink

I just lost a post saying I ought to sit this one out being as I had done so much cordial-imbibing today. But I don't want to be a party-pooper.

Besides, I seem to have ended up as the meat in a Gisborne/Thornton sandwich. How did that happen?
