Welcome to our newest faculty building. Make yourselves comfortable and ignore the smell of paint. We cannot keep up with the demand for new premises.

Important news item for Missy. You should definitely check out the Google home page today

It doesn't sound it though does it? Not that I would want to criticize the wonderful acting of RA.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 16/12/2010 12:07

I shall have to have another listen when I get a minute, Stripey.

The Google home page I mean is the UK one, I should add.

Ah yes, Miss Austen. Quite delightful if the limits of one's horizons are bonnets and sprigged muslin, but I prefer to have some social history and politics in the mix too. Such as one might find - oh, let's see - in the works of Mrs Gaskell, whose creations are timeless and immortal.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 16/12/2010 12:27

Nice threads, though, there. The top hat was very distinguished. I thought you might like it. I'd hate to have had to wear a poke bonnet, I must say.

Am enjoying Venetia now, although it's a slow process ploughing through it. Damerel is v. thuddable and Venetia considerably more modern and fun than Clarissa Harlowe (thank goodness!).

Between the Sheets is also well worth a watch - the storyline and acting stands up well, even without the presence of our favourite thesp. He's not in it a huge amount, but enough to be worth watching and mostly only half dressed so it's all good!!!

Last day at work for me til the new year so hopefully a bot more viewing time now Xmas Grin!!!

MrsLucasNorthPole · 16/12/2010 12:32

That should be 'a bit' (or maybe not Xmas Wink)

Theresahollyinyourmind · 16/12/2010 12:42

I keep falling asleep over Venetia MrsLNP. But that's mainly because it's last thing at night when I listen to it. I do keep coming out of the coma whenever Lord D has a bit of a purr, but I miss so much. I have managed to make it through the first two CDs by dribs and drabs. Most disrespectful of me.

Your Freudian slip made me smile....

OP posts:
MrsLucasNorthPole · 16/12/2010 15:02

I've had Venetia for about 6 weeks and I found the first hour or so before Lord D makes an appearance like wading through treacle, especially as I tend to read contemporary fiction most of the time.

Am so looking forward to having some time to write, I am working on something festive for my fellow academics!

Theresahollyinyourmind · 16/12/2010 15:59

That's lovely for you MrsLNP, we will look forward to it. In contrast, I am going to be extra busy for a while.

Hello, hello!! I got away without having to go to the castle last night - grandparents took DD instead, phew! But that pesky RL got in the way of playing, grrrr.

Yes it was me who wanted to hear beg/fetch - many thanks for the pointer to that site! much appreciated!

Oyster, it was a while back now but your pic of a young RA was hilarious :)

DH is away tonight and I have a hot date with Harry Kennedy. Haven't seen it since it was broadcast so really looking forward to that. Could do with some nice, easy TV.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 16/12/2010 16:33

Oh, lovely Twigs (And glad you enjoyed the beg thing.) Have a great evening.

Reluctantly I am going to have to go out tonight and I don?t know how late back I?ll be, so maybe I?ll have to see you all tomorrow.

So I shall leave you a few little things to be looking at.

Mr Thornton looks thoughtful

Lucas has been at the doughnuts again

And Guy goes for a ride

And this one we?ve seen before but for me it?s the best one that uses this song.

MrsLucasNorthPole · 16/12/2010 17:09

Lucas...doughnuts...MrsLNP hyperventilating....Xmas Grin

PassTheTwiglets · 16/12/2010 17:55

Some lovely artwork for us to peruse there, Holls. Always grateful for an opportunity to see Lucas sucking his thumb licking his fingers.

Holly, one of the links on the left of your Big Bad clip led me to which is one of the best I've seen. I've always adored this song and it does suit Guy well. The visual-matching-audio is great (look out for "pearly white"). I especially adore the ending. Also, having only ever seen the Botticelli moment as a screencap, I was rather exicted to discover that Botticelli Face leads directly onto Glove Biting!

Theresahollyinyourmind · 16/12/2010 18:13

Hello all, still waiting to go out, but will definitely have to. I'd rather stay here with you and the boys.

Mack the Knife is great, Twigs. Very well done as you say. Love the snarl.
I had seen this listed actually and not expected much so didn't click on it.
I always laugh at Alan's expression when Guy strips his top off.

Certainly a keeper, anyway. Thank you!

Some old friends, some new twists...Sorry to go on a Gizzyfest, but I didn't want to lose this.

OP posts:
PassTheTwiglets · 16/12/2010 19:59

Holly, you were talking about something in the DM about parallel universes... was it about string theory? I read about that once but my head started to explode so I had to stop.

Anyhoo, off for my date with Mr Kennedy.

PassTheTwiglets · 16/12/2010 20:48

Oh pretty, pretty Harry...

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 16/12/2010 21:18

So many treats! Including dear Mr Thornton at his most pensive and brooding!

I adore Mack the Knife and I adore Bobby Darin so that vid was especially lovely. The only reason I remember any German (which to my surprise was some use recently) is Ute Lemper - .

As for Alan's expression when Guy takes off his Ye Gappe t-shirt, we will one day have to write an essay exploring the homoeroticism in RH. But not yet, for fear the thread will either catch fire or explode.

StripeyMoon · 16/12/2010 21:20

Some lovely clips there but cannot play the YT as DH on sofa making faces.

I think I am coming down with something, my glands are up in my throat and I have a cold headache. Bah Humbug.

PassTheTwiglets · 16/12/2010 21:21

Missy, we've just had your "it should've been me" moment. Awww, I'd forgotten just how lovely Dibley is. If you ignore the few stupid bits (eg. the life-drawing scene).

I love Bobby Darin too, Missy.

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 16/12/2010 21:31

Why is StripeyMan pulling faces? Because he spotted the word Armitage on the screen or for some other reason?

I never really watched Dibley so my only real knowledge of it is the YT clips with Harry in them. And the Comic Relief bit I posted a day or so ago, where Geraldine pushes a cake into Sting's face. Tee hee.

I thought you might like Bobby Darin, Twiggy, what with you liking Frank Sinatra an' all.

Stripey - Would some Polish cordial ease your symptoms? I think I'm going to have a large one.

StripeyMoon · 16/12/2010 21:33

Pulling faces at the sudding music coming out of the laptop, he cannot see the screen thank the lord.

I think it would missy but I think I may need some medical attention, it could be serious. And maybe some doughnuts.

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 16/12/2010 21:39

Fortunately for Stripey, NHS Direct is offering house calls now.

Perhaps the Ocado man will bring some doughnuts?

The recipe for marital harmony, I have discovered, is headphones on the computer.

StripeyMoon · 16/12/2010 21:42

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I would feel much better with those eyes looking into mine while he checks my pulse

And if only the Ocado man looked like that.
