Oh God, LOL, I've just noticed how that sounds - I honestly did not meant to do a TTL there!! [please believe me emoticon] :o

Theresaholeinyourmind · 26/11/2010 15:36

Don't worry about unintentional TTL moments, Boden. All I did was google something totally innocuous for my dissertation, ahd ShockBlush Shock Blush

I may never recover!

BodenBabe · 26/11/2010 17:31

OOH, OOH, OOH!!! Potential news about The Rover!!!

--------
The Rover Richard Armitage has mentioned in several interviews this year the possibility of appearing in a production of Aphra Behn's The Rover next year. Although there's been no announcement about it, the English Touring Theatre said on 26th November on Facebook (and Twitter) "Had a great read-through of The Rover with Richard Armitage yesterday! Went very well and got some great feedback, so we're excited!"

Ooh, Boden, how exciting, Flowers will self-distruct! Or perhaps not as she says she has achieved her Ambition.

Where will it be? And when?

BodenBabe · 26/11/2010 18:08

There's been no announcement apparently, but I have 'like'd them on Facebook so will keep a close watch! I am SO going!

Just watched The Culture Show. Did you see yourself in the audience, Flowers?! How frustrating that Silly Name Lady didn't join RA's team...

PrairieOyster · 26/11/2010 18:10

I saw it on Twitter too! And I must also like them on FB !!!

Could be soon, he films The Hobbit starting in Feb.

MadameOvary · 26/11/2010 19:31

Hello everyone, Smile
hope you're all in fine fettle. Have just caught up (still wiping my eyes at "At By Myself")
Boden, my thoughts exactly about Silly Name Lady.
Am coming round more and more to the thought of North and South as my next view, but when???

BodenBabe · 26/11/2010 19:57

It's never going to be before Feb though, surely?

Madame, N&S is so cheap at amazon - I think it was about £3.50? Or do you have it already but you don't know when to watch, do you mean? I put it on my Xmas list ages ago, as soon as I started watching Spooks S9, but then wished I hadn't, so that I could watch it sooner :) Though will be a while before I can have alone TV time - DH really enjoys Spooks but he will NEVER watch period drama with me :)

Theresaholeinyourmind · 26/11/2010 20:22

Hands up all who are now following the ETT on Twitter.
The Rover is fun and naughtiness apparently. Can't be bad!
Then they could do a sequel next year. The Rover's Return.
Maybe not.

Am seriously thinking of unfollowing TTL but somehow can't bring myself to do so.
Runcorn. Runcorn. Runcorn

BodenBabe · 26/11/2010 20:35
naughtiness? live on stage?

I can't unfollow him either. Can't be done. I still think it's a girl.

BodenBabe · 26/11/2010 20:36
Theresaholeinyourmind · 26/11/2010 20:38

Anyone for floppy white shirts? Avec lace, forsoooth.

Ignoramus that I am, I hadn't heard of this play and it looks like a lot of fun indeed. By an early feminist, no less. I do hope it all comes off.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 26/11/2010 20:42

Actually, there does seems to be a sequel indeed.
Sorry about the joke, I just couldn't resist. I am all shook up, having watched Gizzy sleep in his Maybelline Volum'Express, in RH season 2 episode 12
Today is a Good Day to Die
So that means Little John is a Klingon?

Theresaholeinyourmind · 26/11/2010 20:50

The text of The Rover is free on line here if anyone is interested. Might be one for a rainy day.

BodenBabe · 26/11/2010 21:15

I hadn't heard of it either. I do struggle with the language in these things though :( I find I am spending most of the time thinking "right, what did that mean?" :(

Theresaholeinyourmind · 26/11/2010 21:21

Hellena. ?Tis true, I was never a Lover yet? but I begin to have a shreud Guess, what ?tis to be so, and fancy it very pretty to sigh, and sing, and blush and wish, and dream and wish, and long and wish to see the Man;

Wink
BodenBabe · 26/11/2010 21:25

OK, I get that bit :o

Theresaholeinyourmind · 26/11/2010 21:32

Belvile. See how kindly she invites me to deliver her from the threaten?d Violence of her Brother?will you not assist me?

Willmore. I know not what thou mean?st, but I?ll make one at any Mischief where a Woman?s concerned?but she?ll be grateful to us for the Favour, will she not?

Belvile. How mean you?

Willmore. How should I mean? Thou know?st there?s but one way for a Woman to oblige me.

It sounds saucy, that much I can understand Grin.

I wonder who we are going to be.

BodenBabe · 26/11/2010 21:42

Who are we going to be? Well I was going to say Willmore, but then I read this, from your link: "Blunt, who is sitting half-clad..."

Um, maybe Blunt would be a good role?

asmallbunchofflowers · 26/11/2010 22:27

Oh, oh, oh. The Rover. I know (as I have only a very limited repertoire of anecdotes) that I have said that I saw a production of The Rover many years ago. You will see from this fine image of that production that it has much potential for bawdiness, sauciness and leather trousers.

It is true that I have achieved one Ambition, but there is also my Resolution to go the thee-ay-ter as often as we did pre-Offspring, so that would, natch, encompass going to see The Rover. I am nervous though about the English Touring Theatre - will that mean having to sit in a cowshed in Hull to see it? Nothing at all wrong with Hull but it will make the babysitting rather expensive.

And no, I didn't see myself in the audience. They filmed in the seats where they only had to rattle their jewellery. We were in the cheap, clap your hands seats.

So, what's new? Who's got some homework to show us?

OP posts:
Theresaholeinyourmind · 26/11/2010 22:34

Oooer, I have got all discombobulated with thoughts of The Rover, bawdiness, sauciness and leather trousers, o my! and poor Guy fast asleep with his sooty lashed fanning on his pale cheek. Swooning at a man in eye makeup whatever next?
I will try to shuffle my rather crumpled notes and give my presentation asap. Meanwhile talk among yourselves.
BTW. Flowers, did you leave a cat in here last night?

asmallbunchofflowers · 26/11/2010 22:38

No. Am thoroughly confused by references to the cat and (shame on me) was assuming it was some arcane bit of innuendo which had passed me by. Did TeenageTwitterLucas have anything to do with it?

OP posts:
Theresaholeinyourmind · 26/11/2010 22:40

No, you were mentioning Andrew Lloyd Webber you see. Nudge nudge, wink wink

TTL and his dongle are innocent for once.

asmallbunchofflowers · 26/11/2010 22:51

Ooops. So I did. (Have been busy today and brain has melted).

I found [[

this curiosity]] in the opera department's basement. The atmosphere is great, and it's not just the usual selection of clips.

I had studiously avoided mentioning TTL and his threat to get his dongle out. I no longer follow him but he still follows me. Must be my magnetic allure. Maybe he's seen me taking my gloves off?

OP posts:
BodenBabe · 26/11/2010 23:00

Re. Admetus - "Not much is known about this cat except that he is surprisingly tall".
