Why don’t you want to buy another house if you have the means to do so?

So am I right that you do have some more distant relatives OP but you don’t choose to see them? What made you cut contact with them? Or did it just fizzle out?

We spilt and the house was sold

Ah, OP. I hope you are ok. Financial security is huge, so I am glad you have that.

Would you be keen to meet a man who has children, or would you rather a man without children?

I have no adult family that are of any use (we are all no contact), but I do have children, and I am on my own. It is VERY isolating and whilst I have other single mum friends, I don't believe it plugs the gap of family. I hate it.

Money does terrible things to people, if they think you are vulnerable they will try to attack the vulnerability to take advantage.

I have thought in the past that if I had no family to worry about or worry about me and therefore no expectations or people that rely on me, then I would do something crazy with my life like trek through the jungle or spend a year on a remote island in the seychelles studying turtles, or see if I can make a fortune selling feet pictures or move to hollywood and see if I can become a character actor as a cranky midlife british lady😂
Do you ever get these thoughts and would you/have you acted on them?

In this case I wouldn’t stand for it and the sulky look on their faces when I wouldn’t go along with their wishes was priceless!!

I said “fuck off and never contact me again” to their face and a decade later have resisted the 5 or so attempts they’ve made over the years to get in contact

Given what you've posted about your feelings about your more distant relatives why don't you have a will?
If you die intestate I'd think they'd end up inheriting. Even if you're not sure who you do want to inherit I'd think it's important that you make a will asap if you don't want it to be them. You can always change it later if need be. * *
