As title! I’d love to be earning £500,000 or £870,001 but that’s life!

OP posts:

So why did you think it appropriate to post this when you are probably more fortunate than the vast majority of mumsnetters? Aren’t you as out
of touch with the vast majority of people as the “I earn £ million/billion” posters??

Why am i about of touch as someone earning millions/billions🤣

I still have bills to pay, c.tax, utilities, pet/car insurance, school lunches, car tax/maintenance, food, pet food etc.

I have to & do live very frugally.

Why are you so miserable? Would it be better if OP said that she has to visit food banks because her mortgage is so high? If you don’t like the thread, don’t comment. Many of us are enjoying this thread. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out

Serious question- do you socialise? Im in a very different financial situation and need to find inexpensive social activities!

Ive liked this post a lot!

I go out (for a nice meal/drinks) 4 times a year with my friends without my DD for a proper night out. I go out with my DD to Wetherspoons for tea with my friends every couple of months.

I see other friends at their houses/park etc quite a lot but that’s free!

OP posts:
Delphiniumandlupins · 23/03/2024 00:45

Where do you go on holiday? If you had lots more money would you privately educate your DD/buy a horse? Are you saving for a specific reason?

SinisterBumFacedCat · 23/03/2024 00:46

Did the dog invite the cat to move in? Is the cat an “old friend on hard times”? Do you suspect the dog is lining the cat up as your replacement? Get all your ducks in a row, I’ve seen this before.

Antagonishy · 23/03/2024 00:57

Brilliant thread, really cheered me up!

idontlikealdi · 23/03/2024 01:24

You work 20 hours. Why are you taking the piss out of women that earn significantly more and educate your children to what they can achieve. It's not a race to the bottom.

PeachCastle · 23/03/2024 02:22

Is it your earnings OP or are you shamelessly humble bragging vicariously through your husband's years of hard work and £££££ whilst you yourself while away your days trying to get people to blow smoke up your arse on forums whilst your poor husband is out 14 hours a day 7 days a week grafting in all weathers whilst you plait the manes of the horses he bought for you and slag him off online proclaiming that "nobody would want him" even though you clearly have no plans to let go of the meal ticket he represents for you, because then you'd have to get a job to make up for the £700k loss of income you've appropriated through absolutely no effort other than washing some pants and cooking some dinners for a man who you despise but not enough to not take his £££££££.
😂

She’s not taking the piss of of anyone, she’s taking the piss out of some stupid threads.

Earning 500k isn’t the only way to achieve and society couldn’t function if we were all set on that.

Anyway OP I do need to know how much you spend on your horses, or did they leave because of your dick of a doglodger??

Northernsouloldies · 23/03/2024 02:34

Don't you even think about having any joyful moments in life bragging about your big bucks life.

Nice to see a real life post that's a reality for many.we are in same boat, tough times indeed.

Air fryer & no dishwasher!

Though I do have marigolds. Like, the proper branded ones, not the B&M ones.

gosh! how the other half live! my marigolds are from homebargains

PinkTeaForMe · 23/03/2024 04:45

OP in the thread title you said you earn £13000 but further down the thread you said £13001. Which one is it because your story is very inconsistent and now I'm struggling to believe that any of it is true. Is that the dog is actually earning the lot and you're out getting your nails done?

I think dog and cat both need a trip to the vets to get fixed! That would stop any more funny business. You deserve better OP.

StarDolphins · 22/03/2024 22:39

I don’t have a partner. I have a DD but she is at school so currently not contributing. My dog is unemployed but doesn’t qualify for any help. So again, staying here for free.

Get the dog a paper round!
Not sure you can send dd up a chimney so much these days, so the dog gets the job!

I actually used to do people's ironing for years. I ironed about 150 shirts every morning. I wouldn't recommend it!!

effoffwind · 23/03/2024 05:31

Op ... can you confirm if you got a woodwork level ?

effoffwind · 23/03/2024 05:31

O Level !!!!

It's fucking hilarious.

Just what Mumsnet needs. OP is genius. 👏🏻

BrightHorizons24 · 23/03/2024 06:02

I think the OP's post is misleading because it doesn't state until further in to the thread that she has NO MORTGAGE and NO RENT to pay.
This is a bit mad - yet another thread about someone privileged.
I earn 3 x your salary in a professional career, slog my guts out for it, paid 37.5hrs a week but work 47.5 hrs a week with daily unpaid overtime which is expected in my job, and I have a mortgage to pay. Reading your breakdown of finances I think you are better off financially than I am.
You are incredibly vague about how you found yourself in the EXTREMELY PRIVILEGED position of having paid your mortgage off at such a young age. Saying ' I overpaid my mortgage and made a little bit from selling my 1st home, then made a little bit more from selling my 2nd home' is bollocks. You can't overpay your mortgage by that much each month that you end up mortgage free by your age - there is a cap on how much you are allowed to overpay each month. And you don't profit enough from 2 home sales to totally pay off your mortgage by this stage in your life.
There's BS going on.
Your income, given that you have no mortgage or rent to pay, is the equivalent of a much higher earner.
You are in, yet another, privileged position.
So don't bother being all sarcastic about other threads when you yourself are in a privileged position.
I'll be paying my mortgage off until I'm 68. It's the only way I could afford to buy a teeny tiny semi with box rooms and I earn 3 x what you do and work way more hours.
Lucky you to have no mortgage/rent which means you can have a terrific quality of life and an amazing work/life balance by only needing to work 20 hours a week.

Mollyplop999 · 23/03/2024 06:23

Brilliant thread OP, really made me laugh. Ignore the eejits who can't take it for what it is, a bit of fun 🙄

Countrylife2002 · 23/03/2024 06:32

Thank you OP this thread is a fab start to the day. Unsurprisingly you sound much nicer than the other thread OPs.

It's not a bit of fun.
OP earns £13,000 a year, pays no tax on that, and has no mortgage or rent to pay.

Edited

I earn more than the OP and have no mortgage. I also live in a teeny tiny house with my dd as a single parent. I did this by buying a teeny tiny house after my divorce (from a violent marriage), I didn’t get a mortgage as I wanted absolute stability . I wouldn’t say I’m privileged. We don’t have much money and my car is knackered!

Countrylife2002 · 23/03/2024 06:37

And earning less also means less pension of course

DrawersOnTheDoors · 23/03/2024 06:40

Great thread 😂

Combattingthemoaners · 23/03/2024 06:40

😂 brilliant satire.
