Following on from the previous thread, this is a new one for spring summer requests

yes please!

would love to be able to wear casual summer middi skirts/ dresses but they always look awful on me. is it because i’ve got bigger hips? they make me look bigger than i actually am.

struggling to know what to wear in the summer. last time i tried on a wrap dress which apparently suit everyone, my daughter asked me if i had another baby in my tummy 😱.

i’m 5’7 a size 12. a pear/ hour glass figure i suppose.

I think the problem is likely to be that midi dresses often have a lot of fullness in the skirt and pleats at the front which adds volume where you don't want it if you're larger on the bottom. Look for styles that are slim fitted such as these

I know I've linked this one before but it's so flattering on. They repeat the shape every season in numerous prints so it must be a winner. Would highly recommend

You were really helpful with my earlier request but things have moved on a touch in that now, DS’s mum is wearing the same sort of dress I was intending to go for.
So now I need to look at jumpsuits or trouser suits for a wedding.

Just to recap, I’m 5ft 5(ish), hourglass size 8-10. I like boho type style but I also quite like 7/8 cigarette trousers and jackets.

DS says he wants glitz and glam so sequins but I think that I’d look like an Abba tribute band.

Sticking with the sequin theme... what about these? Rixo is a stunning brand and their occasionwear has that slightly boho vibe and is very current

Love some of these but sadly about four times as much as I can afford. I wonder if I can hire an outfit? I have expensive tastes

Hurr collective have lots of Rixo dresses in their collection, as well as hundred of others. Also have a look at by rotation. Hope you find something!

Any blazer ideas for the short of height, big boobed size 16s please?

DameCelia · 07/05/2022 11:54

Hi @frillseeking you've been great in this thread
I have another request!
I'm in love with the Jasper Conran dresses, in particular the kimono dress. What shoes would you put with it for work, smart but not overly formal so I could probably get away with bare legs but espadrilles would be too much like holiday wear. The dress looks terrible with nude tights and black loafers btw😂

ConstantlyCooking · 08/05/2022 18:47

Many thanks for your help earlier in the thread. I had problems with app and haven't been able to post until today. I am the mid-50s apple with a short body. I hadn't thought of trying petite tops but that definitely makes sense! Would petite dresses work as well do you think?

Also do you have a jeans style you can recommend. I have enjoyed skinnies with untucked tops but am not sure what to wear now.
This is such a great thread!

Sunnysundays33 · 09/05/2022 15:42

Hey there, looking for summer clothes please. Haven't got a big budget. I'm feeling well and truly fed up of buying online and returning. I'm around 3 stone over weight 😥i am starting to be more active and eat better but that's another thread ha ha. I've got massive boobs, 36f + , 5ft 2 so short. I don't mind my legs especially my calves. I'm having a problem with dresses fitting up the top but being massive everywhere and vice versa with the smaller sizes. I've also got a belly from babyweight that I'm self conscious about. Hahahaa I might as well go around naked. X

Redruby2020 · 20/05/2022 12:15

I would also like to ask for any good ideas for a rain jacket pref lower thigh length, lined because the one I have is cheap and horrible so thin. Feel the cold on my back on a day when it rains but is also not a warm rainy day. For size 20/22.

MrsPerfect12 · 22/05/2022 16:02

Do you have a recommendation for shorts I like loose fitting and longer than mid thigh but above knee please?

timoteigirl · 29/05/2022 13:31

What are your thoughts on capsule wardrobes? When I pack to go on holiday I can see I narrow down colour options and everything matches with everything else so it seems a good start for a capsule wardrobe.

timoteigirl · 29/05/2022 13:33

I am just putting away some of my winter boots and clothing. How do you organise your own clothes and shoes? As a stylist I assume you must have a large selection of clothes of a great variety? Or everything is black basics?

TrickyLicky · 20/06/2022 20:40

Hi @frillseeking I've just come across this fab thread. It's so generous of you to give up your time to help! I wondered if you had any suggestions for a 5' 1", 38 year old with a wobbly tum and broad shoulders with big-ish boobs please? I like simple lines and a more tailored, classic look being short. I find it hard not to look 'boxy' though and so many clothes now are oversized/relaxed which doesn't help. I've tried using stitch fix and had the odd gem but mostly end up returning what they send. Would love your advice!
