I’d like to put 20p on OP being from Liverpool.

rainbowstardrops · 12/07/2018 13:53

This is fascinating and you sound lovely OP Smile

IrmaTooth · 12/07/2018 13:55

OP, I think you mentioned having an MSc? In your experience, are you unusually highly educated among UK footballers' wives or girlfriends? I think the only ones I've ever met who had degrees or tended to be the partners of foreign players.

BertBox · 12/07/2018 14:22

How’s your husband feeling today? 😪

Where do you get your food shopping from? And do you (or DH) have a Nandos black card or know anyone who does?

Givemeallyourcucumber · 12/07/2018 14:49

Why did my message get deleted? Sorry OP it wasn't anything mean or offensive. Just a guess my DH made of who your husband is. He was wrong anyways. He had not idea the footballer he guessed retired last year. DH has proven he doesn't know everything about football like he thought!

Cheesymonster · 12/07/2018 14:50

Bit uncalled for lyn, she's got a masters in engineering

iamawagama · 12/07/2018 14:55

I know a couple that are qualified teachers and personal trainers. But mainly there are many, many beauticians. I'm not knocking it however - they are busy making money with their qualifications while my MSc Just gathers dust in the corner 🙈

Hi @lynmilne65 yes I can read. It was one of the requirements for completing my Masters of Science. If perhaps you could read and comprehend you would've realised that.

Do you ever feel like a "non-person" because everything is about him? Do you think you will use your qualifications or go back to work when your kids are older?

iamawagama · 12/07/2018 14:59

Cucumber I didn't even get to read the post, but glad your DH was mistaken! Grin

Thats what was wrong with your post and yours isn't the only one to have been deleted. Im sure you can understand that possibly outing the Op isn't the best way forward on the thread for a lot of reasons.

Floradoranora · 12/07/2018 15:02

On the back of this thread Ive been really surprised by the qualifications some of the PL players have.

IrmaTooth · 12/07/2018 15:19

Well, the academies should now mean that players themselves have a decent education, but I was talking about wives and partners of football players, or the ones I've come into contact with. There seemed to me to be a big gap in educational attainment between the wives/girlfriends of foreign PL players and the British ones, which is why the OP's MSc struck me as unusual.

mnahmnah · 12/07/2018 15:37

Love this thread! You sound fab.

How many of the footballers you know do some good with their money? I.e charitable, rather than just about the flash cars etc.

Imagingerbreadman · 12/07/2018 16:23

If I have read the thread right you and dh have a child together and each of you have one from a previous relationship? Does dh job cause problems/ jealousy with your other child’s father ?

halfwitpicker · 12/07/2018 16:28

Ha!

And can people stop guessing who the footballer is or this thread will be deleted, and, well, we're all having fun`, aren't we?

Ginorchoc · 12/07/2018 16:45

Do the older players act as mentors to the u17 squads (16 year cousin has just moved half way across the country for a signing)

PodgeBod · 12/07/2018 17:01

Ha! I literally said during last night's game "I wonder who has to wash the kits" and my whole family scoffed and said of course they get new ones every match. Can't wait to quote this thread back at them Grin

iamawagama · 12/07/2018 17:13

Where do you get your food shopping from?

I love Ocado but I'm always topping up in Tesco. M&S for fruit because DH can totally tell the difference between a nectarine from Tesco and one from Marks, it's a skill, bizarre!

And do you (or DH) have a Nandos black card or know anyone who does?

No but I bloody wish I did !

You know what, now I think about it.... not that many. And those that do tend to be from overseas. Plenty of foundations and outreach programmes for local children in their hometowns, that sort of thing.

No jealousy at all, they get on like a bloody house on fire! In fact I think DH gets on with ex better than I ever did 🤣

Yes a lot of the older ones take the younguns under their wing. Though he might find himself having to wash the first teams boots Grin it's kind of an initiation thing while they're making their way up the ranks. Good luck to your cousin, I hope he does well!
