For many households this year, Christmas might look a little different as families struggle with the rising cost of energy bills and mortgage rates.
It’s no surprise, then, that Mumsnetters are turning towards more practical gifts over luxuries, both as gifts for others and for their own Christmas lists. 2022 has already been the year of the air fryer, so useful kitchen items like that alongside items that keep you warm - like hooded blankets - are at the top of most wish lists this year.
As Mumsnetter wibdib says when sharing her Christmas wish list, “you can see a theme - warmth, energy saving, making life easier for myself!”
Despite this, when asked what they’d like for Christmas from John Lewis this year, some users are still lusting after luxury items that they wouldn’t buy because a) they can’t justify spending that money on themselves and b) that money could be better spent elsewhere this year. That said, if there's anyone that deserves a luxury item at Christmas, it’s a parent who has spent the last few months planning and stressing about the festive season. Handbags, clothing, fragrances, and pizza ovens were all at the top of some users’ wishlists for 2022.
Here’s the official Mumsnet Christmas wishlist for 2022.
