And these people advise the government? You can ask a teacher to help you apparently. This is grooming

Needmoresleep · 03/10/2018 08:23

Good Luck. Who needs SATs when a 10 year old can manage that unwieldy consulation.

R0wantrees · 03/10/2018 08:24

current thread about Mermaids guidance:
Mermaids have focus on trans & non-binary children and young people.
They are using the acronyms typ and cyp.

Pushing hard for children to also legally self-id.

Gosh, he's very perky and relatable isn't he? Never mind he's grooming young kids.

CAAKE · 03/10/2018 08:27

Christ on a fucking bike.

R0wantrees · 03/10/2018 08:30

Good Luck. Who needs SATs when a 10 year old can manage that unwieldy consulation.

Mermaids guidance will help with this.

Also see Easy Read Government guidance which is intended for those with learning difficulties, non-fluent english language speakers, those with low literacy levels, children...

The Government is wanting to
improve the way that people can
lawfully change their gender in
England and Wales.

This document explains the proposals.

The Government wants to know what
you think about these proposals.

Please give us your views by Friday
19th October 2018.

Gender
When we are born, our parents say
that we are either male or female.

This is recorded on our birth
certificate.

As we grow up we start to understand
more about gender.

Most people will be quite happy with
being the gender that was written
down when they were born.

Trans people may feel that they are a
different gender to the one that was
recorded at birth.

They may not feel like either a male or
a female.
We think that there are between
200,000 and 500,000 trans people in
the UK" (continues)

What could possibly go wrong with changing a child’s legal sex and putting them in facilities and overnight accommodation with children and adult supervisors/carers of the opposite sex? 🙄

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 03/10/2018 08:37

Actually that might explain that diaper fetish troll.

MacaroonMama · 03/10/2018 08:45

Peak-transing on a daily basis for about two weeks now. Anyone else?

LangCleg · 03/10/2018 08:48

GROOMING

PLAIN SIGHT

PillowOfSociety · 03/10/2018 08:52

Is Stonewall a charity?

This is very, very unethical.

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 03/10/2018 08:53

Is there anyone we can actually report this to?

Ifonlyus · 03/10/2018 08:56

Why is no one challenging those figures. 50000 trans people? I was looking at Hansard from 2003 before GRA 2004 was passed. It quotes figures of fewer than 400 people having undergone SRS in the 6 years previous. And as we know (I think!) just under 5000 people currently hold a GRC. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Ifonlyus · 03/10/2018 08:58

Is anyone allowed to challenge the figures used in that easy read document? Where do they claim to get the estimate from?

R0wantrees · 03/10/2018 09:03

What could possibly go wrong with changing a child’s legal sex and putting them in facilities and overnight accommodation with children and adult supervisors/carers of the opposite sex?

The principle that the child's 'preferred gender identity' should be prioritised (even if not Gillick competent ) was established in NHS policies:
eg From Yorkshire and Humber Protocol:
(extract)
"Gender variant children and young people should be accorded the same respect for their self-defined gender as are Tran’s adults, regardless of their genital sex.
Where there is no segregation, as is often the case with children, there may be no requirement to treat a young gender variant person any differently from other children and young people. Where segregation is deemed necessary, then it should be in accordance with the dress, preferred name and/or stated gender identity of the child or young person.
In some instances, parents or those with parental responsibility may have a view that is not consistent with the child’s view. If possible, the child’s preference should prevail even if the child is not Gillick competent. "

I think the opening statement is extraordinary:

When we are born, our parents say that we are either male or female. This is recorded on our birth certificate.

There are clear guidelines for easy read documents about font, space, language choices, use of illustrations.

They are also surely required to follow standards with regard to content? This is especially relevent when considering the vulnerabilities of the intended audience.

The Charities Commission would be the place to complain to I think?

Enjoli · 03/10/2018 09:20

This is radicalisation.

deepwatersolo · 03/10/2018 09:30

Yes, I did that. Baby came out, I said male, and there grew the penis. I am all powerful and decide such things.

vicviking · 03/10/2018 09:35

Massively unethical. As well as the charity commission we should also complain to those running the consultation.

Stonewall and Mermaids are such a threat to childhood. Their logic and their statistics make no sense. They use the experiences of a few outliers to decide that our children as a whole need to have their natural bouts of adolescent confusion interpreted in a way that makes them more vulnerable and unhappy. Both should be shut down. Mermaids is built on the dodgy foundations and Stonewall have completely moved away from their original purpose.

vaginafetishist · 03/10/2018 09:38

OMG that twitter! Look at that book called 'Jamie'.

Fuck, peaked again.

catchyjem · 03/10/2018 09:41

This is truly sickening. Grooming in plain sight indeed. Especially the part where he says "Do you think you're old enough to make decisions about your gender?"

AbsintheFriends · 03/10/2018 09:41

"If you are not trans or non-binary, changing the GRA won't have any impact on your life..."

Jesus Christ. Do they have no conscience at all? Not the slightest bit of unease about brainwashing children with lies?

This jaunty little piece of propaganda is going to be one of those things we look back on in horror, like episodes of Jim'll Fix It.
