And these people advise the government? You can ask a teacher to help you apparently. This is grooming

Surely children would have to lie? I am sure that only answers from people 16 (or 18) and over will count?

They know that the tide is turning, the only way they can push this through is lies and manipulation now.

Penny Mordaunt seems incapable of doing her job right, to me anyway. If she has already decided to 'stand against hate' when there is no fucking hate, only people wishing to keep womens rights.

There is no ago box on the form.

Bolloxio · 03/10/2018 16:21

Ah right I see. I filled it in months ago so don't really remember the questions, assumed they would ask age.

Badstyley · 03/10/2018 16:31

Getting primary school kids to fill out the consultation, not desperate are they?

Are there any guidelines as to who can participate in a government consultation,eg people of voting age, eligible to vote in the UK etc?

I might get DS to do it in that case, he’s horrified at the thought of girls seeing him wee or get changed. Fucks sake...

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 03/10/2018 16:32

There seems to be none for this one.

ChrysanthemumsAreMums · 03/10/2018 16:34

Oh My God.

That video is aimed at children who are MUCH younger than 16.

sexnotgender · 03/10/2018 16:37

I’m actually speechless.

Unethical and so fucking wrong on so many levels.

Sounds like they’re trying to game the consultation as they’re worried about it not going their way!

AbsintheFriends · 03/10/2018 17:00

I've just watched the bit at the end again, because it's been bothering me all day.

This is a video aimed at primary-aged children. It features teenagers, who younger children will naturally look up to and see as role models, telling them to take an action (filling in the GRA consultation) the full implications of which they can't possibly understand. 'I shouldn't have to prove that I'm female' says the obviously male Sashh, in an obviously male voice.

You don't have to listen carefully to hear the sound of children's boundaries being undermined and their trust in their own instincts being trampled on.

So, who do we complain to? Can the charities commission do anything if it hasn't been made by stonewall or mermaids? Presumably youtube won't give a toss...

LangCleg · 03/10/2018 17:25

Stonewall's youth pack also contains a quote from a child who says that anonymous online fora are the only places they can find friends and presents this as a benefit of youth internet activity (where anyone can be anyone, including an abuser).

Add this to the Allsorts guidance pack, which:

*Recommends allowing confidential disclosures by gender-questioning children, thus creating a safeguarding loophole through which an infiltrating abuser can gain control of a child.

*Disavows the need for multi-agency input into work with gender-questioning children, thus creating a safeguarding loophole which reduces checks and balances on infiltrating abusers.

*Recommends withholding information from parents of gender-questioning with PR (legal parental responsibility - PR can be given to local authorities if parents are abusive, but the guidance means normal parents, not abusive ones), thus creating a safeguarding loophole, which makes it easier for infiltrating abusers because parents are not aware of what is going on with their child.

*Recommends socially transitioning gender-questioning SEND children at school without informing their parents and even if other professionals working with the child disagree.

Now this.

WHATEVER THESE PEOPLE THINK THEY ARE DOING, THIS ALL DIRECTLY MIRRORS ABUSER TACTICS. IT IS MORE THAN DANGEROUS: IT IS CATASTROPHIC.

OrchidInTheSun · 03/10/2018 17:25

I've had a look at the government guidelines - you have to complain to the charity itself before the Charities Commission will look at it.

I am going to write to Stonewall and cc the Charities Commission tomorrow. I'm also going to email the GRAConsultation email address. While there are no guidelines on age of participants, I don't supposed the government imagined 9 year olds were going to fill this in. Olly and Pop has thousands of followers, all who can go to the handy Stonewall guide and just tick yes and no in line with Stonewall advice.

Oops - pressed post too soon.

Thank you R0 for the link to the GRA email address.

And I urge you all to write if you're as appalled as I am.

And
you can make a report to:

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 03/10/2018 17:35

There is no doubt this is exploiting children.

NopeNi · 03/10/2018 20:58

Yikes ... it's a bit reminiscent of the whole Hitler Youth thing isn't it - get to the kids early, indoctrinate them, control parents through them.

On the plus side that survey is ridiculously and stupidly difficult to fill out isn't it? So they'd be lucky.

R0wantrees · 03/10/2018 21:04

Petition launched by Jonny Best, Julie Bindel etc
'Please join us in asking Stonewall to reconsider its transgender policies and approach'
Since 2015, Stonewall has also campaigned on trans issues. We believe the organisation has made mistakes in its approach. These mistakes are undermining women’s sex-based rights and protections, and damaging the relationship between transsexual people and women - a relationship which had been positive for many years.

On Oct 19th the Government’s public consultation on proposed changes to the Gender Recognition Act closes, so it is important that there should be debates amongst us all about transgender politics and the rights of women and girls. Stonewall disagrees and calls debate on this matter of public policy transphobic.

Stonewall’s promotion of the concept of 'gender identity’, which has it that a man or woman is anyone (of either sex) who identifies as such, is also undermining the basis of lesbian, gay and bisexual identities as orientated around same-sex attraction. Lesbians in particular are coming under pressure to accept male-bodied trans women into their spaces and as sexual partners.

At the moment, Stonewall is failing in three key ways:

By uncritically adopting a form of transgender politics which undermines the sex-based rights of women and the concept of homosexuality itself
By refusing to recognise the diversity of viewpoints on these issues, including among LGBT people.
By seeking to prevent public debate of these issues by branding as transphobic anyone who questions Stonewall’s current trans policies.
We call on Stonewall to:

Acknowledge that there are a range of valid viewpoints around sex, gender and transgender politics
Acknowledge specifically the conflict that exists between transgenderism and sex-based women’s rights
Commit to fostering an atmosphere of respectful debate, rather than demonising as transphobic those who wish to discuss or dissent from Stonewall’s current policies"

Fuck me sideways, every time you think you’ve heard it all......

R0wantrees · 03/10/2018 21:24

It would be interesting to see the Easy Read Version.

I've just read somewhere that there is a version of the consultation as well as guidance.

AngryAttackKittens · 03/10/2018 21:30

Have we forgotten that there's a reason we don't let children vote, and it's related to cognitive development? Also, is what the creepy fluffy kitty ear wearing video person is suggesting even legal?

HawkeyeInConfusion · 03/10/2018 21:30

The current Stonewall leadership are a disgrace to their forebears.

On the plus side, if there is no age limit for filling in the consultation then I'll get DD to do it. She's already said that she will leave Brownies if a boy joins.
(don't worry - I won't really let her fill it in)

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 03/10/2018 21:35

OK, email sent to the GRA email address. this is attempting to manipulate and exploit children

it's just not on

Noqont · 03/10/2018 21:38

Fuck that video is creepy. Targeting children who aren't gillick competent. Oh well. I can get my kids to fill it in too. And my friends kids. And their friends too. Don't worry stonewall. We've got this. And we see you.

AngryAttackKittens · 03/10/2018 21:41

Is Stonewall a registered charity? If so their status should be revoked for pulling a stunt like this.

ChattyLion · 03/10/2018 21:47

Shock So horribly manipulative.
Peak!
The air is getting really fucking thin up here..

AngryAttackKittens · 03/10/2018 21:55

On the plus side that survey is ridiculously and stupidly difficult to fill out isn't it? So they'd be lucky.

Ah, but that's why Stonewall has produced a helpful guide to tell people what answers to give. Who cares if the kids they're urging to complete it don't understand any part of the process?

This makes a mockery of the democratic process and it needs to be stopped right now.
