And these people advise the government? You can ask a teacher to help you apparently. This is grooming

Oh ffs

Frankie you have a vagina. You are at risk from men. They won't give a shit how you identify. And that little piece of paper stating your non binary identity will do Jack shit to protect you from the real risks you face in life.

A fucking grooming video...that's all it is. It's lies . You will not be recognised in any meaninfull way for something no one else can see

Penny Mordant MP, the Minister for Women & Equalities attended a Stonewall reception yesterday at Conservative conference.

Stonewall tweet:

"Minister for Women & Equalities @ PennyMordaunt
thanks @ stonewalluk & everyone in room for being steadfast in face of hate; says we stand by #trans people who have faced so much hatred in past year; need to make #GRA reform and more a reality #ComeOutForTransEquality"

Stonewall encouraging primary aged children to fill in the GRA consultation
NormalPeople · 03/10/2018 09:53

Nobody is assigned a gender at birth.

'If you're not trans the changes to the GRA won't affect you'.

Wrong on so very many ethical and factual levels.

scepticalwoman · 03/10/2018 09:54

This is an example of people with no boundaries. And people lacking boundaries can be a threat to children.

We now have one charity demanding that children below the age of consent should be allowed to make legal changes to their sex and another demanding that children should participate in an adult public consultation.

Unethical and dangerous.

Biologifemini · 03/10/2018 10:01

It’s all a bit jimmy saville
I just don’t believe stone wall are seriously expecting primary kids to do this. Imagine the school encouraging this. There would be a total fuss.

It looks a bit like trolling to get mumsnet wound up?

WatchThePotatoesBoil · 03/10/2018 10:19

Note that Stonewall have not put their name to this. It appears to be an independant effort - albeit with Stonewall references.

Manipulative statements include:
Be a hero - and let the government how much we support trans and non-binary people

What child would turn down the opportunity to "Be a hero"?

Lisa Muggeridge explains grooming in plain sight. In response to the Helen Watts incident, but makes it very clear how the TA movement acts as a grooming movement for young people.

Bloody hell! Grooming indeed.

All that ‘parents say what gender you are’-Bull shit. The biological sex of a baby is noticed and recorded. Parents then dress their children in certain clothes, buy them certain toys and expect/encourage them to do certain things depending on how influenced they are by the social construct of gender. Some might go all Girls: pink, dolls, housework, butterflies, women’s work and, Boys: blue, naughty, boisterous, construction, cats, manly jobs, and others might spend a lot of time and energy trying to show their offspring that they can wear, like, do, be anything they want no matter what genitals they have. Some do something in between because the societal construct of gender is ingrained deeply.

We should be teaching children it’s OK to like pink if you’re a boy or play football if you’re a girl. It’s ok to want to wear sparkly shoes from the ‘girls’ section if you’re a boy or a batman top from the ‘boys’ section of your a girl. This self-ID stuff anyway, but especially when aimed at young children, does nothing to the gender binary but totally reinforce it. “Oh your silly parents put you in a box because they believe gender is binary, it’s ok though. Put yourself in this other box if you don’t feel you fit in.” Binary reinforced. Nice one chirpy chappy.

If I found out my child’s school were considering helping children to fill this out, particularly using the Stonewall “guidance”, I’d be fucking livid.

VodkaRevelation · 03/10/2018 11:25

**ideally separate sections for girls and boys wouldn’t exist.

SirVixofVixHall · 03/10/2018 11:26

Totally agree with vicviking’s post on p1.

Danaquestionseverything · 03/10/2018 11:26

Truly lost for words. A 1st for me.

Totally. This does not encourage research or independent thinking at all. It’s completely unethical.

PillowOfSociety · 03/10/2018 11:33

I used to support Stonewall. I was really active in their Clause28 campaigns.

I now feel compelled to complain to my MP and the Charity Commission about them.

I believe in free speech. They have a right to their position and to lobby and campaign. But not as a charity(are they?) and not involving children like this.

SirVixofVixHall · 03/10/2018 11:54

Yes they are a charity and they have a massive income. They are government funded. As I understand it once gay marriage became legal, they have shifted to transactivism because there are some hefty salaries there that need sustaining. Bizarre that an org set up for the support of gay men and lesbian women should now be anti same sex attraction.

vicviking · 03/10/2018 11:54

Thanks Sir
If Mermaids really wanted to support children their message would be that a few children will grow up trans and need to be supported and not bullied while they work this through. Full stop. Instead their mission seems to be to prove that there are hoards of trans kids due to a few gnc toy preferences. It is almost as if someone did something they are not too sure about and has to constantly double down to prove that they were right.

As for stonewall. Would have happily raised funds for them in the past. Now? Ha!

SirVixofVixHall · 03/10/2018 11:59

“It’s almost as if someone did something they are not too sure about and has to constantly double down to prove that they were right “
That’s what I always think reading stuff from mermaids too. Sorry vicviking I don’t know how to put your quote in bold type.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 03/10/2018 12:00

wtf?

OrchidInTheSun · 03/10/2018 13:57

"This is what Stonewall thinks"

That a child who is not old enough to vote, have sex, decide what school to go to or what time they should go to bed, should legally be allowed to change their gender

This is grooming in plain sight. And the government is encouraging and funding it.

and that if a child whose parents / carers are encouraging watchful waiting wishes to do this anyway no doubt there are charities, organisations and individuals who will support the child against the parents' guidance?

OldCrone · 03/10/2018 15:20

Stonewall talk about gender, when what the gender recognition act is all about is changing legal sex. Nothing to do with gender. Changing gender makes it sound trivial - like choosing what sort of clothes to wear.

jellyfrizz · 03/10/2018 15:22

When we are born, our parents say that we are either male or female. This is recorded on our birth certificate.

I don't know why Labour are bothering about banning feotal sex tests when the parents can just say whether babies are male or female.

Needmoresleep · 03/10/2018 15:49

Echoes of Larkin 'They fuck you up, ypur mum and dad'

Add sex asignation to the many sins parents can be blamed for.
