Posters jumping before they're pushed

Well MNHQ we have the start of the exodus. Posters leaving due to these new guidelines that throw women under the bus.

A poster has deleted their account today due to the upset and stress of getting a strike for saying something that is 100% true. We know it's true because TRA's posted it on Twitter themselves, yet we post it and it's kick off time at HQ

It's a fucking disgrace HQ WOMEN are your target audience yet you don't give a fucking shiny shit about us. Not a fucking shit and it stinks.

More and more women will leave and you will be left with nothing more than people who present as opposite to their birth sex sitting posting about heels, make-up, clothes and fucking knitting.

Good luck with that one.

I am fucking livid that a post I put thought and care into today, was deleted for being 'uncivil'.

WTF?

I was not being personal. I was not telling fibs. I was not saying anything that the law doesn't currently imply. I was not being rude to anyone. I did not do anything wrong. I just spoke of the facts.

We had a clarification from @JustineMumsnet that we would be allowed to talk about males and females in order to discuss inequality.

I was doing that when I concluded that males... (will I get deleted for saying this?) with a GRC should be subject to the exemptions in the EA as should any other male, no matter how nice they are as a person.

We have changes in the law that we need to discuss.

This place is full of trolls talking bullshit.

I got told by @MNHQ that my post was 'uncivil' for discussing them.

WT utter F?

I had my first deletion and strike today.

I don't want to say what I said as I fear even quoting a deleted post will earn me another strike but I will say that what I said was factual and wasn't offensive in any way. It was a really innocuous post actually but it was still my truth that I was speaking.

I'm actually undecided about whether I should leave. If this continues then it will be a really stifling environment and I will feel like I'm walking on eggshells constantly. Then again I am TTC again (there's that pesky biology again!) and think Mumsnet might come in useful.

I really think the world has finally gone mad.

I have actually had two posts deleted today but only one email. Does that mean I am on my first strike or my second?

I wondered about that when the transgender ads kept showing up at the top of the page since I turned off my ad blocker and even bought some things from an advertisers link.
I stayed after the security breach and the inadequate response to the security breach though some of my long time friends left because they were put in jeopardy by MN.
It never occurred to me that MNHQ would kick us when we were down.

People at the other place are at a total loss as to what we can do right. The moderation is inconsistent. One poster got a strike today for a post cleared by another mod.

It's only by posting freely at the other place can we really see the fuckwittery here. It's crazy.

What isn't crazy is women who are suffering mental health episodes or are frightened to post here. FRIGHTENED to post here. Let that sink in. They just don't want a strike, so don't post.

Some fucking support site this is!

I have autism and find this whole thing stressful to get through at the best of times.

Where is @MNHQ's compassion for people with disabilities who might be struggling even more so?

Report
spontaneousgiventime · 24/06/2018 23:43

I'm not naming who has left as I promised her I wouldn't. Sorry.

It's out of order. Under the disability discrimination act people with autism are protected. Here not at all. You have been told you will be looked at sympathetically. After this last couple of weeks I suggest sympathy went the way of common sense.

I am more than aware this thread could get me kicked out, but is by posting it, it raises awareness then I have at least done something to support those women not supported and afraid to post here. That is more than good enough for me.

There will be women who have strikes who will be afraid to post on this thread and I understand that completely.

Why women should be afraid to post on a forum aimed at women is a sad indictment of where MN head is these days and it aint with the women it purports to be there for.

I have a suggestion to make your guidelines a bit fairer and not totally weighted against women and girls and feminists in particular..

How about you give people a strike for the insulting and uncivil use of the words (even in compound) girl, woman, female, mother, aunt, daughter, sister, lady for anyone who is male? Or for attributing any aspect of female biology to males such as motherhood, periods, hysterectomy, etc.

That seems really fair to me.

Let people find a work around to describe males who seek to present or 'live as ' the opposite sex.

That will help to level the playing field.

ie someone says:

Trans** are women = strike.
Trans
** are the same as women who have had hysterectomies = strike.
A male says "I am looking forward to being a mum" = strike.

Wouldn't that be a lot fairer to women, to stop all these casual, entitled, gaslighting insults?

It is beyond offensive to be appropriated on a feminism board on a site called mumsnet.
