Salon magazine have published a few pro-paedophilia articles recently.

I didn't even realise it had already started. I've heard the phrase 'child prostitution' and not given due consideration as to what it means to society to have abuse phrased like that.

Words have power

Trite but true

c75kp0r · 01/05/2018 22:54

Thanks - a lot to digest there ... though without a source for the handbook,(and posted on an anonymised twitter account) it is open to accusations of being faked to make a point as it is so very similar to the tactics being used elsewhere.

ah have now read previous tweets... my eyebrows have hit my hairline and I sit here open-mouthed wtaf

Thread about the Wright Stuff discussion today about Dr Christian wanting porn to be shown in schools.

This has been happening for a few years now. I guess the pedophiles have noted the sympathy shown to anyone who says they identify as oppressed and decided that can be used to their advantage too.

(I will stop now as pedos are a group of people who I find it very hard to talk about without breaking Talk guidelines.)

flowersonthepiano · 01/05/2018 23:30

Horrific. Stop the world, I want to get off.

AngryAttackKittens · 01/05/2018 23:36

I assume everyone here has seen the term MAP (minor attracted person) coined because pedophiles realize that most people don't like them very much and thought that a change in branding might help.

Showing children porn is literally child sexual abuse:

www.nspcc.org.uk/preventing-abuse/child-abuse-and-neglect/child-sexual-abuse/

So Dr Christian has effectively gone on TV to advocate state sponsored child abuse. Nice.

Italiangreyhound · 01/05/2018 23:57

I think Dr Christian had good intentions. However, this has shown him to be a twat.

"TV doctor Christian Jessen has told BBC Radio 5 live that pupils should watch “heavily edited” porn in school, as part of their sex education lessons."

www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p065wpk5

If Dr Christian is worried about teenage boys and porn maybe he should join a campaign to stop internet porn being so easily available to children.

Not all kids are watching porn and if the UK schools start showing porn to kids they will be making schools procures of sexual content from prostituted women. That's not who I want educating my kids.

Is it only me who finds the linking between paedophilia and the ‘trans narrative’ grossly offensive?

I notice that people are being very cautious with their words, but the intention is clear - both from the person who wrote the twitter thread linked to here, and the insinuated comments above.

I appreciate that there are people who may not be supportive of trans people, and are protective of women’s rights, but this is one step too far!

Paedophilia is vile and disgusting and has no place in society. To insinuate for one moment that trans people have anything in common with this group of depraved people is appalling. We are better than that!

TERFragetteCity · 02/05/2018 00:21

So we can't talk about the horrors of paedophilia because it seems to use the same tactics as TRAs?

Ok then. We'll just forget all about it.

Probably not, but nevertheless, we should be able to talk about it.

Your right not to be offended ends at the point child protection becomes an issue.

RedHoodGirl · 02/05/2018 00:30

No, I’m not saying we shouldn’t talk about how disgusting paedophilia is. However insinuating that there is anything at all in common with people who engage with that and trans people is highly offensive and intentionally misleading.

Wanderabout · 02/05/2018 00:31

What links are you seeing Red ?

@RedHoodGirl I do not hate or dislike trans people. I do worry a lot that the debate around trans people and their rights and women and our rights (and I say debate but actually the trans 'side' have said 'no debate') has been hijacked by militant people. These militant people may well not care at all for women or trans people.

The young masked yobs who are trying to stop women attending meetings are not (I believe) speaking for your average trans person. Lots of transexuals are very concerned about self id.

If ordinary trans people and ordinary women could get together and speak and debate and centre the needs of those who really need protection, we might get somewhere.
