But once you remove the legal right to consent, the protection afforded by 'age of consent', parent's rights to have information shared with them then children are exposed and vulnerable.
This x 100
You can't shut down safeguarding concerns because someone says they're offensive.
That an MP in a select committee tried to argue parents raising concerns about this should not have been covered in the Times is DEEPLY disturbing.
That a well respected leader of an international organisation such as the guides responded to concerns raised about this by suggesting they are somehow a form of discrimination is DEEPLY disturbing.
That anyone would suggest destroying and not even reading schools guidance that seeks to address issues of safeguarding and female consent being disseminated in schools is DEEPLY disturbing.
This is about protecting vulnerable children and ensuring policies are designed to protect and work for all.
Who on earth would have a problem with discussing these openly, and ensuring and reassuring that safeguards are in place?
Why on earth would ANYONE have a problem with discussing and addressing this?
