A shiny new thread for a bright shiny new year.

This is a place to pause, be still and count our blessings, great and small. Everyone is welcome, whether you have faith of any kind or none at all.

We would love for you to join with us as we celebrate the good things from loving families to washing drying on the line😁

Happy New Year to all

I am grateful for all the people on a thread here that encouraged me to stop drinking alcohol. Grateful to be waking up on New Year's Day without a hangover.

I am grateful for technology that helped me to 'be' with my loved ones from afar last night at Hogmany.

I am grateful that I'm coming through having Covid19 over Christmas and feeling much better! I feel much ready to face the new year and feel optimistic that over time things will get better.

May I join?

I am grateful for the fact that nobody else in my household got COVID from me, allowing us to end isolation on-time just before Christmas.

I am also grateful for the fact that I have a warm, comfortable house and bed.

Happy New Year to you all Smile

I am grateful for a good conversation with my mum today who is in a nursing home with Parkinsonsand Dementia. These good conversations don't come very often so I cherish them when they do.

Going along the same lines as Breathmiller, I am grateful that we had 18 good months with my DGF before dementia took over two years ago.

I'm thankful for fresh sheets on the bed so tonight will smell lovely; kisses from DD who is the sweetest kindest girl; the soft tummy fur on our lovely cat; a job to return to tomorrow albeit with challenges; living close to my mum so we can wave through her window on our daily walks.

I'm very grateful for having family (that get on well together) at home right now. I really feel for those on their own or in difficult situations at home.

I am grateful for a warm, safe place to sleep. I cannot imagine the horror of being homeless just now

I'm grateful that we live in a mature democracy governed by the rule of law, even if I really don't agree with government decisions

I'm grateful for technology that allows my children to stay in touch with one another and with their friends.

lessstressedhemum ☝ yes!

I am grateful for a walk outside today with my family.

For technology that will help me support my closed business for the duration.

For the ability to keep in touch with my adult dds while we can’t meet up.

For the carers in the nursing home who look after my mum.

I am so grateful today for my very jumpy, non stop chatty 9 year old son who sat in meditation with me for 5 minutes and then we did some yoga together. Blissful moment of peaceful connection.

I am grateful that DHs chronic illness did not have a massive flare overnight even though he had a lot of the warning signs yesterday evening.

I am grateful for all the teachers who have passed on their knowledge and wisdom to me in my practice and faith. That they decided to follow a path and then share it with me so that I can walk that path and do my bit to pass it on too. 🙏🏼

Winter sunshine all day. In spite of very low temperatures, it was a joy
Contact with family and friends, which dials my spirits up - I hope it works for them, too
All those whose work keeps us going through these extraordinary weeks and months

Some lovely winter sun
Bin men who help keep the place clean and rubbish free
My chronic illnesses have been quite settled. Usually they flare up wildly in the aftermath of Christmas and New year.

Lessstressedmum Glad to hear your condition is not as bad as it usually is at this time of year. That must be a relief.

I am grateful for family video calling from Australia yesterday and hearing that life is pretty close to normal for them. Gives hope.

I am grateful for my daily practice.
And grateful for DH that
even though he is working too, he has set up online schooling this morning for my son who was struggling yesterday. They are working together at the table happily.

Grateful for my son's teacher who is a gem of a human and for all the work she has put in to set up work for the kids. A really lovely mixture of curriculum stuff and wellbeing breaks.
