Just that really. We are thinking about starting a family but want to know what you miss most about pre-parenthood??

The ability to be spontaneous- 'let's go out for dinner tonight' / 'let's have a weekend away'

You really don't realise how much you take that for granted pre-kids.

Doing whatever I want, whenever I want.
Leaving the house as soon as I'm ready not having to worry about whether DD is going to get into the car seat without a fuss.
Saying that, she has made our lives a hundred times better though, so wouldn't change it.

Sleep, having something to talk about that isn't DC, holidays, freedom, my pain free body, time, a clean house...the list goes on. Why?

Spontaneity.

Expensive holidays.

Trips to restaurants/theatres/cinema whenever I wanted.

Leaving the house with a tiny bag.

Nice things in the house with no sticky handprints.

More disposable income (£800/month nursery fees!)

Lie ins and late nights.

Only having to think of myself (and DH) selfishly.

Pre-baby figure. (Can't believe I ever thought I was fat before)

So much less stress.

And yet... how your heart grows Smile

Sleep, being able to leave the house spontaneously, a relatively tidy house.

Sleep, having a lie in. Getting wasted and knowing you can have the next day to recover.

Sleep, quiet time, getting laundry done over 3 loads a week, having nice clothes and keeping our home tidy with minimal effort.

Spontaneous outings.

We've just had to book our babysitters for 9th December for a Christmas party.

Being able to go out for dinner and the cinema midweek.

Lie ins. Although neither of mine surface before 7 so I'm not too bad.
