Thank you!
It is raining here and I need to get out of bed, shower and dress so I can go to the supermarket

Thanks for the new thread MissC

DH is still asleep here, luckily Silkiecat is too.

It stopped raining an I am down from my shelf (no food, no cuddles).

Report
Silkiecats · 08/08/2021 11:18

Silkiecat is also finally down from the shelf, after over 24 hours on the shelf. She then even when on the upper floor of the house, she hasn't been there for about a year so she is clearly feeling very brave today.

I have ascended the stairs using both legs to propel myself. First time in two years.

@Prokupatuscrakedatus Have you got a longer cable from something else that you could use?

Was just about to leave to go to the supermarket, but its torrential, again. I'll watch some of the Olympics closing ceremony while I wait for it to pass.

Is this a thread anyone can randomly join or do we have to know all the injokes? Asking for a friend..
Anyway, if its the former, I'm in bed, eating melon segments and its pouring outside.

Congratulations, @DisgraceToTheYChromosome, and thanks for your ambulation news.

Welcome, @TokyoSushi. It's been raining here too, but I think it's almost over. I might go to church.

@ssd, of course you can randomly join, but weren't you on one of the prior threads? I cba to look. I'm done exercising, showered, and about to have some fruit and yogurt for breakfast.

Good choice on yogurt @MissConductUS, I'm having a black cherry yoghurt and have two cats staring me down waiting for the empty tub.

@MissConductUS, i might have been on a previous thread, not sure really. I can hardly remember what i had for dinner last night.
Anyways..I'm still in bed, its still pouring down.

Frogs, I'm having cherry yogurt too, with strawberries and fresh cherries and granola. I "make" the yogurt myself by taking plain yogurt and mixing it with halved, defrosted frozen cherries.

I had a black cat named Toodles who loved yogurt. She was a great kitty. I had her when I met DH and she immediately approved of him. That was one of my first clues that he was the one.

Just come back from walking the dog, going to make an omelette for lunch. Next I will take DD to her hobby and make awkward small talk with the other parents. The weather is very meh.

Thanks @MissConductUS for the new thread, posting on the last one gave me the jitters in case I was filling it before you had a chance to link to a new one.

champagne no need to be jealous, we got properly drenched today! Fully wet through to knickers. DC took this in good part and I feel like it will be one of those walks which goes down to family legend. We rewarded them with milkshakes and flapjack in a lovely tearoom/art gallery.

@sueelleker - Unfortunately nothing else fits. It has been like that for a couple of years now. He will buy a new one when the old stops working at all.

Off to walk friend's dog (the charming but wilful one) and then coming back for brunch.
Bought lovely lavender bath foam.

I have been away for what feels like weeks now, but finally found a moment to say hello.

I have delivered 2 college-age teens to one city, and driven another college-age teen to see where she'll be living once she leaves in a few weeks.

I have driven approx 2000 miles in the last week and would like to never see the inside of a car again.

Lovely to see you all.

Welcome, @Terrysmyorange, and thanks for sharing your dog walking, lunch, and DD hobby news. I had an omelet for lunch last weekend for the first time in ages.

Welcome back, ZZ. That is a lot of driving. The one good thing about DD staying on campus this summer for her internship is that we don't have to take he back to uni. We will make the journey with DS on the 19th.

I'm just back from church. It was nice, but now that we're singing hymns again we have to mask, which means that my reading glasses fog up when I try to read the tiny type in the hymnal.

I have been unable to pick my next British TV series to stream, so am watching an old Star Trek movie instead. Halifax was great but it was only one season. I tried Inspector Lewis again but was put off by all of the Oxfords toffs. It's a dilemma.

Have you watched Unforgotten on Amazon Prime? I just binge watched all 4 seasons.

Report
MissConductUS · 08/08/2021 17:02

I love Unforgotten. Nicola Walker is fantastic. I watched the first three seasons on Prime and am now watching season four using my PBS Masterpiece subscription, where it is dropping one episode per week.

Can you access all of season four on Prime?

I have just written my to do list for tomorrow (1st day off work):
GP to collect results / library returns / bank storage / a book shop to trade in vouchers / IKEA for storage boxes / pharmacy for DS's official vacc. document (no way I'll allow him to carry his booklet) - all on public transport. I hope it does not rain all the time!

@MissConductUS yes we thought she was lovely. They had a baby within a year and within weeks of the baby born he withdrew. We hadn't realised but he had withdrawn from his friends, changed jobs, moved in with her, and then a fall out was almost engineered and he's cut us all off. With the exception of his younger brother who was invited but due to being unwell and in hospital has been unable to go.

We've not been in touch for nearly four years now. It's strange. You have your children and do your best but never expect this!

I'm sad but I hope they have a lovely day anyway.

I've been watching clips of The Fast Show on the Youtubes remembering the genius of Caroline Aherne and the magnificence of Paul Whitehouse. Brilliant!
