Starting a new thread because the old one is full, I never thought when I started it that it would a) be moved to Classics and b) help so many people.

I love that thread!! Ans it really did help me when I needed it.

Thank you for a new one.

GenuineKlatchianPottery Wed 11-Mar-20 11:14:10

smile It’s been a lovely thread to have been a part of.
How are you doing @NaomiFromMilkShake?

FinallyHere Wed 11-Mar-20 11:27:41

Thanks from me for this thread, which has been so helpful to me. It's good to be able to help others, as well as accept their help.

MN at its finest. Thank you.

NaomiFromMilkShake Wed 11-Mar-20 11:28:30

Not to bad at all, I have three sessions this week and then a week of electron boost and then I am done.

I went into the radiotherapy suite yesterday and complained that my boob was sore itchy and the skin had cracked.

The radiographer who I get on well with, looked at me, laughed and said splendid well at least we know we are hitting the target. grin

The machine is down for servicing tomorrow so my last session is on a Monday, it would have been nice to walk out of there on a Friday and be finished.

Still mustn’t grumble, bloody lucky to have the NHS.

Thank you for asking.

If anyone has a day worry I've got time to mind it. ❤️

DramaAlpaca Wed 11-Mar-20 13:18:18

Thanks for starting a new thread Naomi and glad to hear the treatment is going well flowers

It's wonderful how the original thread became such a lovely, supportive corner of MN and has helped so many, especially in the night hours when worries and concerns seem so much worse.

Long may it continue. No worry is ever too big or too small to be shared here with the worry guardians on the night shift, or in the daytime too smile

I never thought when I started it that it would a) be moved to Classics and b) help so many people.

It's strange to think how many people are getting to sleep because of you Naomi! Take care of yourself.

2018SoFarSoGreat Wed 11-Mar-20 14:49:39

Thanks for the lovely shiny new thread. Also great to get an update but Ouch to the cracked sore bit 😟

Ive held back from guardianing as the old one filled up but I'm here and ready so pass them on over.

WhatHaveIFound Wed 11-Mar-20 15:03:38

I didn't even realise that such a service was offered. What a great idea Naomi. Thank you and I hope your sore bits are better soon.

My main worry is my DD who is suffering badly with depression & anxiety. I'm finding it so exhausting being her emotional support and I was the one who broke down in tears during her doctors appointment this morning. Feel so embarassed because i'm trying to be strong for her but it all got too much.

On the plus side she has turned 18 so the doctor finally prescribed antidepressants. I know that's not a cure in itself but it might help in the short/medium term.

ChewChewIsMySpiritAnimal Wed 11-Mar-20 15:10:28

Please hold my anxiety and depression. Just for a little bit. I need a break from it sad

GenuineKlatchianPottery Wed 11-Mar-20 15:22:47

Any worries can keep me company in the kitchen while I make a chicken and butternut squash curry. They can make themselves useful and peel the squash for me.

2018SoFarSoGreat Wed 11-Mar-20 15:29:39

@WhatHaveIFound and @ChewChewIsMySpiritAnimal we've got you today. You just leave these worries with us.

You go be you.

I read your thread when I can't sleep at night which has become a regular thing. I take a lot of comfort from it and I think you are all incredible. It's just lovely to feel the compassion that you all share during what feels like the loneliest times. Thank you

SpeedofaSloth Wed 11-Mar-20 19:04:48

Thank you OP.

JMAngel1 Wed 11-Mar-20 19:43:10

love the phrase "mind them" are you Irish? My Irish parents say this all the time.

LollipopViolet Wed 11-Mar-20 19:57:01

My anxiety is up at the minute, lots of changes (good ones) at work and uncertainty over upcoming plans means I'm not sleeping well. So if anyone is free from around 9pm to mind my anxiety, that'd be great. I'll return the favour next week when some of the changes are over and done with smile

GenuineKlatchianPottery Wed 11-Mar-20 20:17:00

@LollipopViolet I’ve got them for you. Put those worries out of your mind; me and the cat will take care of them while you sleep tonight.

notbeingfunnybut Wed 11-Mar-20 20:29:09

I read the first thread at the beginning but then lost track so I’m glad I’ve seen this, it’s brought a tear to my eyes reading the lovely comments about minding each other’s worries.
I’d be so grateful if someone could take mine for a while to give me a rest, money is the eternal one and lack of it and balancing paying everything but also giving my boys the best childhood I can, which leads into my second which is whether my youngest will get his school place next month. It’s a church school and we don’t attend, my eldest is there already so we should be ok but the anxiety about it is constantly bubbling away.
I’ll take someone else’s tomorrow if that’s ok when I’ve had a decent sleep tonight?

Solongtoshort Wed 11-Mar-20 21:44:17

Could someone take my or rather my dh worries please l need to sleep a full night because waking up through the night isn’t doing me any good. I felt myself nodding off at work today.

He has health anxiety regarding the corona virus, l am scared for my 7 year old as he is going through an anxious phase, he keeps coming home from school asking questions and l answer them age appropriately and we have had hand washing lessons sing happy birthday slowly. I’m scared he is going to learn to worry, l am worried l am not going to be able to talk my dh down with logic for too much longer.

My df is has terminal cancer and her and a mutual friend have fallen out and l can see both sides but l don’t know what to do about it.

My friend wants to live her life as normal as possible for as long as possible, mutual friend feels pushed out as she was helping out a lot,

The lack of sleep is making me emotional. I am going to aim for lights of at 10 and sleep through the night. Fingers crossed the wind dies down.

SpinachQueen Wed 11-Mar-20 21:49:22

I've looked at going part time at work to help my anxiety. I'm anxious that this is the wrong choice.

SpeedofaSloth Wed 11-Mar-20 21:57:24

I'll hold them for a while, not, so long and spinach. I'll be awake for a couple of hours yet, get some rest while you can.

Izzybuzzybuzzybees Wed 11-Mar-20 21:58:51

I only found this thread at the end of the last one. I wanted to thank those that minded my worries in order for me to sleep last night. I never sleep through but I did. I’m not sure how the interview went and feel they asked a question they shouldn’t have. I find out at the end of the week so less to worry about tonight.

DirtyStinkinBass Wed 11-Mar-20 22:02:09

Thankyou for minding my worries last night. As soon as j wrote it down I dropped off to sleep.

I was a latecomer to the thread but what a lovely thread.

I am here to mind everyone's else's worries tonight in return. Notbeingfunny, I've got yours. Rest now xx

SpinachQueen Wed 11-Mar-20 22:04:18

Thank you. If someone else would like to put a worry in my worry bag, it's open.
