Starting a new thread because the old one is full, I never thought when I started it that it would a) be moved to Classics and b) help so many people.

Not sure exactly how this works but I've got a load I want to get off my chest. Sorry if this is incoherent.

I'm 40 weeks and 2 days with my second and the doctors want to induce me on Monday morning. I was induced with my first and the process was traumatizing. The first time around it took so long and I was unable to leave my room for days because I came in with a basically closed cervix; they couldn't figure out the right dosage of Pitocin so my contractions were really painful and not consistent We ended up staying in the hospital for 8 days before we were able to come home. I'm really scared of what will happen this time around.

Our little is 2 and a half and I've never spent a night without him. I've been so sad the past week thinking that I'll have to be away from him for multiple nights but also that he won't be my only little anymore. I'm not sure if this is a normal thing people experience when they have their second but it's been so hard.

I feel like an anxious mess and I want this all to be over so I can just be at home with this baby out and my other little close by. (really thankful I found this site tonight, I needed to vent about this stuff to people who might better sympathize with what's going on)

Flyingarcher · 15/03/2020 06:02

@TJSN2017 It is totally normal to feel like this. You'd be not normal if you didn't. My second birth was nothing like the first - your body k8nd of knows what to do. Soon you will have a sleepy snuggly baby to cuddle and a happy toddler too. Breathe, I've got your worries here - if I hear a plane go over ( I live near a major airport) I will send them off with that.

Make tea, snuggle back in your fave place and have as much of a rest as you can with a two year old. We've got your worries.

Frownette · 15/03/2020 07:38

Thank you @MrsMozartMkII :)

Seeitsortit · 15/03/2020 07:58

Thank you so much - having a safe space to write it down last night was a Godsend......and I got to sleep thanks to it so thank you so much everyone who’s here on this, you are wonderful

Dowser · 15/03/2020 08:55

I hope everyone managed some restful hours last night.
I did , I managed about 6 and a half.
I’ll be here to hold anyone’s anxieties tonight.
We are going into lockdown from 8 am tomorrow morning. Only allowed to go to chemist and supermarket.
I kind of feel peaceful about it right now.
I shall use the time, mnetting, studying, ( I’m very much into radionics and natural health) reading, speaking with friends and family.
There’s another English family on our floor that we are close too so we can have a natter with them
We can sit on the balcony in the sun.
We are fine.
Spreading love, peace and harmony to everyone struggling through the nights.

BogOffWinter · 15/03/2020 09:17

@Dowser I hope the lockdown isn’t too bad. Take care of yourself Flowers

Here to hold anyone’s daytime worries if they need

Seeitsortit · 15/03/2020 09:23

@Dowser - as you have been here for us on MN, we too will be here for you .
Stay safe Flowers

NaomiFromMilkShake · 15/03/2020 11:27

@TheRoqueforteFiles

Thank you for that, I will look in to it.

@Flyingarcher thank you so much! I was able to rest easy last night after writing all that out and I woke up feeling a bit lighter.

Auldspinster · 15/03/2020 20:13

This is such a lovely thread, thanks for your comfort!

MrsMozartMkII · 15/03/2020 20:43

I hope all are well.

I'm curled up with a book and I'm nowhere near tired so will no doubt do some work. Feel free to leave your issues, they can be stacked in the corner and my big (very friendly but very much have 'the look') dogs will lie down and keep them there whilst you rest.

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 15/03/2020 22:42

I’m signing in for the night watch. Me and the cat are now tucked up in bed ready to take any cares and worries off your hands. Pop them at the end of the bed and sleep well while we guard them for you.

TheRoqueforteFiles · 16/03/2020 02:41

@ Dowser There are free courses here ( also some paid depends on their level ) www.futurelearn.com and lots of museums have virtual tours available might be worth a meander through the cyber halls and galleries to distract yourselves and bring the world to you as it were.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 16/03/2020 07:21

Thank you Roqueforte

I'll have a look at that.

Howmanysleepsnow · 16/03/2020 12:14

Checking in. I’m on a night shift in A&E tonight so can take any worries with me. I’ll keep them busy so they won’t have time to bother you.

BogOffWinter · 16/03/2020 12:30

@Howmanysleepsnow Hope it’s not too bad in A&E tonight!

Howmanysleepsnow · 16/03/2020 15:03

Shouldn’t be. I expect the worried well will stay home!

2018SoFarSoGreat · 16/03/2020 16:19

I am here for duty today in CA. I've got my whole office on semi lockdown and it is surprisingly calm so far - first hours into the worday. So much less on my plate than last week, so I'm feeling like a WORRY MASTER!

Send yours over. I shall corral them all and hush them if needed. Shall take them for a brisk walk at lunchtime if they behave.

MrsMozartMkII · 16/03/2020 20:42

It looks like we're covered tonight, but although I think I may sleep earlier tonight, I can still coral any burdens by the dogs. They'll guard them and let you rest.

Wishing you sweet dreams.

Bluewater1 · 16/03/2020 23:10

My worries were minded for me twice by the night shift and I slept better both nights. Thank you so much!!
I'm here for anyone that needs their worries minded tonight Flowers

NaomiFromMilkShake · 16/03/2020 23:41

I am not so much worried as pissed off. Angry

We have a teen who finished college at February half term with our blessing, the plan was for him to get a bar job and think and regroup. The gig economy has just imploded, so he is going to be hanging around like a fart in spaceman's suit, angsty because he can't go to the gym.

DH is working from home, ordinarily not a problem but for the forseeable........ Beam me up Scotty... Grin

I finished chemo in January, and have a week of radio left, I work for a small family firm and we can not afford to close until we have to. We thankfully after thirty years of mortgage have only just dumped it we can take the hit of me losing my part time job, but I am not sure I can handle the actuality of it.

I drive to work and then have my own half of a large office with literally over ten feet between my colleague and I. If they close the office I will go slowly loopy at home.

I need to hit Costco and buy more wine and beer if we need to bed down in. Priorities...Wink

I have a heart condition, and this is my second time around with cancer, so CV19 if you are feeling up for it, come and get me... Past caring. Grin

MrsMozartMkII · 17/03/2020 08:05

NaomiFromMilkShake well that's all a bit of a bugger lass. A Costco wine and chocolate run sounds like an excellent plan.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 17/03/2020 16:51

@NaomiFromMilkShake and all of the rest of us who are having big and small panics leaping up and biting us (wine stock low? DH on my last nerve? Bloody virus. Bloody bloody blooming virus?) I shall take it all today. Bundle the blighters up and send them my way.

Despite being on Shelter in Place (SF/Bay Area) my work is ridiculously deemed essential - only because the stupid government has not got it together to lift paper filing restrictions and extend deadlines. So I am at work. In a large, mostly empty office building. Lots of rooms to corral the worries and fears. I shall pop in regularly and give them all a bit of what for if they need it. Otherwise I shall shush them and tell them it is okay. I've got them.

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 17/03/2020 23:45

Worry guardian signing in for the night watch, alongside my little furry shadow.
Pass them over and I’ll keep them under control while you sleep.

Dowser · 17/03/2020 23:54
