Starting a new thread because the old one is full, I never thought when I started it that it would a) be moved to Classics and b) help so many people.

This blasted virus..it's taking over MN - I've hidden the topic for it and now I've hidden AIBU as it's everywhere.

I know it's important but I am struggling with a bereavement and all the talk of corona and dying is more than I can handle.

I’ve developed a cough - just a cough, no muscle aches or anything- but I keep getting indigestion for the last couple of weeks and the heaviness of it on my chest makes me worry I’m having heart issues (I’m only 2 years off the age my dad had his first heart attack). There’s that much strain on the GP’s at the moment I daren’t book in for a check up.....and then I worry, anxiety gets up and chest tightens......it’s definitely indigestion as gaviscon sorts it (plus I end up burping like mad Blush) but I keep worrying......

cantdoitalone I'm here, you're not alone. You can do this. Deep breaths, slow your breathing down, count in and out, one to five. You can do it. I'm here.

Seeitsortit I've got you, too. And I hear you as I have to eat my bodyweight in Rennies... Try not to worry, get some sleep if you can.

I’m here to take care of any worries that are plaguing you tonight. I have a gentle hand hold if needed.
Havelock also sends sleepy, purry, cuddles.
Leave those problems here and sleep well.

Scream if you need to, throw something if it helps. Then deep breaths. I can see you are in a tough place right now. At this distance all I can do is offer you a handhold and a virtual takeover of your worries. And a big if it helps at all, virtual of course. I'm off to bed now, I hope you manage to get some sleep too Flowers

I’ve just posted in chat but had no replies as it’s so early in the morning. I’m so panicky and anxious and feel like the worst mum ever. I’m taking anxiety meds and this is the first panic I’ve had in ages (yay!) but it’s pretty bad

@2004pickle I’ll take your worries now so you can drop off for a bit. My husband suffers with anxiety sometimes and I know what a shit it can be. You are not the worst mum ever, it’s the stupid anxiety voice trying to make you feel that way. Deep breaths, sleepy eyes and I’ll keep watch for a while. Xx

2004pickle · 15/03/2020 03:34

Thank you PoppityBoo Anxiety is so lonely, especially at night.

I’m here too, can share in taking in all and any worries that need minding for the remainder.

Go easy on yourself @2004pickle. This is an especially difficult time for everyone but we will get through it.

I'm new to this board hope you don't mind me joining in.

I have lots of things going on in my life at the moment that is causing me massive anxiety and affects my sleep at the best of times. The thing that is keeping me awake tonight tho is the coronavirus. I'm not sure if I am being irrationally worried about it. Myself and my son is asthmatic (albeit mild) and my husband has type 2 diabetes. It's really stressing me out.

Oh and I've just come on my period and have the most horrendous stomach cramps.

Thanks for listening.

@LotKell these are tough times but I've got you. You relax and get some rest. Be calm. Be still. It's all ok for right now.

Hi all, I cannot sleep :( Am nearly 31 weeks pregnant and woke with a start feeling I couldn't breath and had a palpations. ECG ok and Doc said they think it's where I am big and it's going to happen. To turn back over and try to sleep but every time I do, I just end up waking myself up shortly after :(

@Raindancer411 you are doing that most important job of work, growing a human. Settle back. Shut your eyes. Picture the bond you already share. And sleep. That's the way.
