You won’t believe what happened at a wedding last night

blush (no I’m not the guest in question)

Evening guests turned up at 7pm. Around 8pm bride and groom decided to cut the cake. Only to find cake had already been cut by a hungry guest shockshockshock

Cake in question was a three tiered cake made of different cheeses. Surrounded by grapes and crackers/biscuits. No little bride and groom on top.

An absolute war broke out about it. Half the people saying well, how were they supposed to know it was the cake, other half saying it was pretty obvious.

Cake was in a separate room to the bar and dance floor. Bride in tears (or tiers boom boom).

Around three or four people had taken some of the cake by the time they realised!

Some people just don't give Edam do they?

PierreBezukov Tue 01-Jan-19 22:11:49

Tough cheese I guess.

Ginsodden Tue 01-Jan-19 22:12:54

Having a good truckle at these cheeses puns

daisychain01 Tue 01-Jan-19 22:14:21

Tough cheddar

TheRealJoseph Tue 01-Jan-19 22:16:57

Was it delivered by truckle?

The names of the couple are Wens & Ly Dale.

Sounds like a bit of a pickle with the bride having a meltdown.

Curd they cheer her up with Morbier?

HeronLanyon Tue 01-Jan-19 22:18:22

That would get my goat. Sounds like she was a bit of a sheep to be so upset though. My language would have been blue for sure. It would be the last straw for many. Guess thise friends are now toast. What a pickle.

ShortandSweet96 Tue 01-Jan-19 22:19:01

That's un-brie-lievable!

daisychain01 Tue 01-Jan-19 22:19:47

A wafer-thin morsel of Venezuelan Beaver Cheese for you, per-chance?

YourEggnogIsBetterThanMine Tue 01-Jan-19 22:22:29

I bet the cheese thieves don't raclette it though.

notangelinajolie Tue 01-Jan-19 22:24:23

Can we have a photo of this please?

Ali1cedowntherabbithole Tue 01-Jan-19 22:24:55

Oh that's hard cheese.

How very Dairylea of the guests.

brizzledrizzle Tue 01-Jan-19 22:25:49

It was in another room and they still(ton) found it?

xsquared Tue 01-Jan-19 22:30:08

At least they can have a bit of cheese with their whine wine now.

It is bad manners for a guest to cut the cake. I witnessed one of the bride's relations cutting into their wedding cake before they did many years ago. No idea whether they were particularly upset although they managed to salvage one of the tiers for keeping.

jessstan2 Tue 01-Jan-19 22:33:59

Oh hard cheese, bride will get over it. It was rude to tuck in before anyone else though, whoever did it.

HeronLanyon Tue 01-Jan-19 22:36:18

Brizzledrizzle - you have an odd spell check going on - odd brackets thing going on there(ton). grin

TheRealJoseph Tue 01-Jan-19 22:37:08

Was "3 cheese wheels on my wagon & I'm still truckling along" played by the DJ??

sirmione16 Tue 01-Jan-19 22:40:23

Have seen this happen with a stack of cupcakes which were on a stand as the wedding cake - 3 were missing! Had to strategically turn it and take photos from right angle grin

elephantoverthehill Tue 01-Jan-19 22:41:44

When I get to my next significant birthday, as getting married is extremely unlikely, I want a cheese wheel cake, suspended over a huge, hidden fondue pot. When the cake is cut all will tumble down to make a lovely gooey melted cheesey mass.

brizzledrizzle Tue 01-Jan-19 22:43:21

Heron it's a really annoying spell checker, I think it's from Philadelphia.

HeronLanyon Tue 01-Jan-19 22:46:02

brizzle - that makes some sense. Had a friend called rick cotta who had one of those once I think.

AlpacaPicnic Tue 01-Jan-19 22:50:29

Ooh, I'd love an excuse to get one of those cheese cakes, I fancy the Smeatons Tower.

I can't believe nobody's made any cheese based puns yet...
sarcasm!

Ali1cedowntherabbithole Tue 01-Jan-19 22:50:57

Comte think of it, did anyone see the man(chego) what done it?

HeronLanyon Tue 01-Jan-19 22:51:45

Brizzle - Alice has a Philly spell check too !!
