Anyone else doing the 2019 Yoga with Adriene 30 day programme?

The details are here

do.yogawithadriene.com/p/dedicate

It's free and the videos are posted on YT each day. You can sign up via the above link and you get a daily e-mail or via her YT channel.

I joined in for the first time in 2018 and loved it. The community of MNers to share experiences and provide encouragement kept me going to the end.

And I'm ...err ..not young! I'd only done a couple of yoga classes before but have continued an ad hoc basis since. I remember stiffly lowering myself to the floor on day 1 and feeling extraordinarily flexible about 14 days later. I'm hoping I can recover some of that this year!

I’m a day behind but I am running three times a week and doing a yoga class once a week so I am just going to add them on to the end.

quirkychick · 12/01/2019 09:57

A day behind, here, so Day 10. I think it'been my favourite too, nice and stretchy but not too slow. I'm also feeling much more over my cold.

Ulysses I was thinking I could feel my arms quite a bit today, too. Not just the triceps, but the forearms as well. All that holding down dog while she talks!

sweaty hope the pain becomes more manageable soon Flowers

Have had a brilliant start to the day with day 10 and 11 in the bag, loved them. Love it when it all comes together with the breath and movement, makes me feel very zen!

@mrsr8 I can’t get to the top of the mat either, or step through to the top without having to hoik my leg to where it’s meant to be. Those will be my benchmarks for the end of the 30 days I think!

Gumpendorf · 12/01/2019 11:06

I've had a couple of flat days -it's January Sad. I missed Thursday so did forced myself to do day 9 yesterday and will catch up this weekend. I didn't enjoy Day 9 much which may have been my mood, as I usually enjoy the breathing and all the poses.

Was Shockwhen I saw the e-mail this morning. It was nice of Adriene to warn us that Day 11 included crow.Grin

I'm quite behind, but have been doing something everyday - pilates, running or this. Day 6 done today, might do day 7 later.

I'm just about to do day 9. Did 7 & 8 yesterday. I found day 8 really challenging as I can't sit cross legged, so I adapted the leaning forward doing it from childs pose (?) position.

Overall I'm really enjoying it. I watched her business model talk, and it was really interesting.

I also did her stress release session (from 4 years ago), and the mantra 'I choose to let go" has really resonated with me. I am trying to choose to let go at the moment. Smile

AugustRose · 12/01/2019 12:12

Ulysses yes I can feel my triceps this morning and didn't think we'd done that much yesterday but it just goes to show.

Mrsr8 Crow is the one at the end where you rest your knees on your arms, lean forward and lift your feet off the floor.

Not so keen on Day 11 as I'm not great with balancing but I did it and actually felt quite warm at the end, plus I got both feet off the floor in crow so that good Grin

Just did 10 and 11 together, really enjoyed them and starting to feel like it's all coming together. Something is definitely working as, although I didn't quite do it, that was the closest I've ever come to doing crow. I don't think it should have be the video picture- it's easier if your brain doesn't know what's coming and just does each step she says so it builds up without you thinking 'I'm going to balance on my arms!

Habadabadoo · 12/01/2019 13:50

Just did day 11. Omg the crow - I am amazed! I couldn't do it but would like to one day!
My legs were burning today whilst doing the one leg poses so happy that it was a 'proper' work out today!

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 12/01/2019 14:00

I've slipped behind so did day 9 today. I kept getting interrupted and didn't really understand the breathing she was doing.

I feel like I should go back and redo day 8 and 9 because I feel like I skipped loads but I'd quite like to catch up to keep things on track.

I think I'll do day 10 tonight and 11 / 12 tomorrow and then see how it goes.

DeadBod · 12/01/2019 14:16

Day 11 completed. I didn't quite manage the crow, my feet lifted but only for a millisecond. I'll try that again and see if I can build it up.
I certainly felt a burn in my legs during the 1 legged poses but I had a wobble on.
I had DH sitting on the bed watching me today so that was a bit off putting.
So far, so good, we're all doing well.

mynameiscalypso · 12/01/2019 14:23

I skipped crow as well, can rarely do it at the best of times so wasn't going to even attempt it. Enjoyed it otherwise though, I like balancing.

Day 11 done. It seemed to go very quickly. It was tricky in places but I really enjoyed it. Whilst my balance is still not great I can definitely see an improvement over the last few days.

Gumpendorf · 12/01/2019 16:36

Day 10 done and enjoyed. It was a really good stretch session. I'm doing Day 11 and 12 tomorrow. I am definitely doing Day 11 and 12 tomorrow.

LadyLance · 12/01/2019 16:47

Day 11 done- No chance of getting my feet off the floor in crow, but I did all the balances and was proud of that! Definitely felt it in my legs though!

Hockneypool · 12/01/2019 17:00

Day 10 and 11 in the books today. Enjoyed them both a bit wobbly and shaky in places but just going with the process and doing what I can. Feel like getting stronger.

chutneypig · 12/01/2019 17:41

Wow Day 11. I loved it so much. Very challenging but I really enjoyed it. It would have been much more enjoyable without the loud conversation my family insisted on having while I was doing the session, I missed a lot of the crow instructions. This is one I’ll come back to for sure.

daisychain01 · 12/01/2019 19:29

myView2 you could try doing one session in the morning and the 2nd in the afternoon or evening to catch up. Depending on your time commitments that is. You don't have to do the together. Or you could even skip on and add that Day onto the next one that's a 17min day. Then it's manageable.

I did Day 10 yesterday evening then we had dinner and I forgot to post oops.

Day 11 I just finished, Phew I found it very challenging on my tired legs, as I do a daily cycle outdoors (or spin class at work), today it was 1.5 hours probably not the best day to do Courage eeek my hamstrings and glutes were really burning doing the one legged mountain tadasana sequence omg.

I really enjoyed the thread the needle, my shoulder blades felt very stretched out after that. Like her version of airplane arms, my triceps felt it after yesterday!

daisychain01 · 12/01/2019 19:31

Next Wednesday it's Reveal which is 17 mins, so it's worth bearing in mind as a catch up day, to double up. Hey needs must and all that, we all have busy lives.
