Dedicate: 30 days of Yoga with Adriene

Anyone else doing the 2019 Yoga with Adriene 30 day programme?

The details are here

do.yogawithadriene.com/p/dedicate

It's free and the videos are posted on YT each day. You can sign up via the above link and you get a daily e-mail or via her YT channel.

I joined in for the first time in 2018 and loved it. The community of MNers to share experiences and provide encouragement kept me going to the end.

And I'm ...err ..not young! I'd only done a couple of yoga classes before but have continued an ad hoc basis since. I remember stiffly lowering myself to the floor on day 1 and feeling extraordinarily flexible about 14 days later. I'm hoping I can recover some of that this year!

TulipsInbloom1 - they seem to be getting progressively shorter, so 45 mins is one of the longer ones. Think there's a timetable somewhere but I haven't seen it but I think it shows all the timings.

DeadBod · 06/01/2019 12:59

Day 5 completed. Less talking and more doing today. I'm a bit wobbly on the lunges but hopefully this will improve as we go along.

StarJazmin · 06/01/2019 13:28

Calendar of how long each one is here

Just done day 5 - definitely a nice energising/warming yang session when it gets going but it’s only short, it builds up gradually, and then when you get to that nice sukhasana/gentle twist at the end it feels lovely. I did take a few minutes shavasana as well after to bask a little more.

Really enjoying doing this and feeling optimistic about completing the 30 days, it’s good sharing the experience on here too Smile

coffeecow · 06/01/2019 14:22

Day 5 done. Enjoyed today. This is the best I've felt any year at doing it each day. It's about now I usually start to find it a chore but I'm really enjoying it. It helps to check in here and see how others are getting on.

Threesocks · 06/01/2019 16:16

Day 5 done and really enjoyed it. I love flowing yoga so this is definitely my sweet spot!

chutneypig · 06/01/2019 16:28

I loved Day 5 but did have to resort to puppy posture a couple of times. I think I made a real breakthrough with my breathing, I normally have to concentrate on not exhaling through my mouth but it felt more natural today. I’m hoping for a knock effect on my breathing when running,

I’d like to be optimistic and think I’ll do day 6 when I get up tomorrow but need to leave by 5.30 so I think it’s unlikely! It’s core too tomorrow so that might be for the best.

londonfeather · 06/01/2019 17:10

I’m joining! I’m a day behind

BigGreenOlives · 06/01/2019 17:13

I’m really enjoying it, on holiday at the moment so I hope I’ll keep it up when I’m back home. I normally do yoga 3 times a week and throw in Adriene when I can’t get to the gym.

londonfeather · 06/01/2019 17:35

I’m joining! I’m a day behind

GreenHatHacker · 06/01/2019 17:36

Done but rather wobbly as I went to the gym this morning! Was convinced someone had said today's was 17 mins, so was a bit shocked at the 28!

FranKubelik · 06/01/2019 17:41

'Some days are going to be harder than others but you still show up' - this resonated today as I didn't feel my usual keenness to get on the mat. Ended up with a smile on my face though. So day 5 done.

cheminotte · 06/01/2019 17:44

Just done day 3 - found the pulses a bit tricky. Have been interrupted both today and yesterday while doing it which isn’t ideal, but have decided doing it with interruptions is better than nothing and am using it as an opportunity to teach dc of Mums right to time to herself.

SPARKS17 · 06/01/2019 17:45

Really enjoyed today, less chat more yoga and felt like I had achieved something. Hopefully more of these to come as this one has gone on my will do again playlist.

Spudlet · 06/01/2019 17:47

Day five done although with some difficulty as DS insisted on building a cushion pile at the top of my mat and sitting on it Confused Couldn't forward fold with abandon, was having to make sure we weren't about to nut each other Grin

Back to getting up at 6.30 to do it tomorrow, which ironically will be much easier. Fewer pitch invaders!

Enjoyed the flow of this one, o was definitely feeling a bit of heat by the lunges!

Gumpendorf · 06/01/2019 17:54

I've done day 4 and 5 today. I really enjoyed both of them and feel great as a result. I toppled over going into the first high lunge but am thrilled with how much more comfortable everything is this year. It's those little successes that keep me going. Smile I'm looking forward to next week.

Well done everyone for still being here on day 5. 🤗

I've also done day 5, so day 4 and 5 in a day- there were a few things in day 5 I found tricky, and at one stage I did have to rewind as I got lost, but I powered through nearly everything, just having to drop my knees for a few seconds during the last downwards facing dog.

Part of the reason I'm doing this is to build my core, so I think I may struggle with tomorrows.

I'm still feeling really good for doing it, though!

daisychain01 · 06/01/2019 19:42

Was convinced someone had said today's was 17 mins, so was a bit shocked at the 28!

GreenHat that was probably me - except it's Tuesday that's 17 mins Smile. I'm going to do Day 7 at work during my lunch break as a trial run using my mobile (to test out if it's OK for Thursday when I can't do the session in the evening). All very confusing sorry!

Ulysses · 06/01/2019 19:44

I've just done day 4 this evening and feel really good from doing it. It was a challenge but I liked the pace of it. Some of the poses give me a bit of back strain and I am hoping this is things realigning themselves properly. I don't go back to work until Wednesday so I am hoping to catch up by then. The last time I got so far behind I didn't have the motivation to see it through to Day 30. I've got a laptop now so I can be a bit more flexible about where I do it now, which hopefully helps.

daisychain01 · 06/01/2019 19:46

Day 5 done!

Nice session with vinyasa, including plenty of beach ball arms which I like as triceps are always difficult to target.

Benji was Centre stage wasn't he! I thought he was going to demo downfacing dog at one point, the way he plonked himself down on Adrienne's mat! Very cute.

9/10 for minimal waffle today.

1000piecepuzzle · 06/01/2019 21:29

I can't believe I only just noticed it was a lake in the background not a different section of grass. I don't know why I thought they had a boat randomly parked in the middle of the lawn!

GreenHatHacker · 06/01/2019 21:31

daisychain01 wish I could find somewhere to have a go at work. Unfortunately, not really got the facilities for it, though would give everyone in the office a bit of a giggle!

Habadabadoo · 06/01/2019 22:09

Day 5 only just done. Doesn't suit me at all doing this late in the evening but pleased I did it. I've got all of you on mn to thank for my motivation as I can see you are still doing it Smile

Talisin · 06/01/2019 23:08

Day five done. I really enjoyed that. From all the posts about today I thought I’d be suffering but I was fine, wrists no longer hurt and feet didn’t cramp today, so bonus. Tomorrow is the dreaded abstastic day six though...

evilharpy · 06/01/2019 23:43

I’m a day behind but not beating myself up about it.

Pulses on day 3 were the hardest bit so far.

sweetkitty · 06/01/2019 23:46

My shoulders and neck still hurting, I had to modify a lot of the poses today as I have fibromyalgia so taking it very easy.
