The lady we know and love, who has brought us 30 Days Of Yoga, is starting a new series of sessions on YouTube from 1 January called .

This just might be the incentive I've been waiting for to establish a daily practice. Does anyone want to join me? Smile

Day 13 done - the irony is, I'd have loved this gentle session a couple of days ago. Today, however, I woke up with loads of energy, plus it was FREEZING cold downstairs (kids had left the front door open too long before going to school). I spent most of the "relaxation" shivering violently and desperately wanting to MOVE!

(You wait, I'll want to relax tomorrow)

RubberDuck · 15/01/2016 08:16

Expellibramus (love that name:D): pigeon does get easier over time, but then is also one of the first things I lose if I don't practice for a bit. I must have really tight hips.

It does progress from impossible>possible but bloody uncomfortable>tolerable>woah this feels really good

Stick with it :)

Day 11 done Smile

A word of caution re pigeon: I managed to give myself a very painful hip strain a couple of months ago with the pigeon pose. It didn't feel painful at the time but I realised that I had difficulty walking the first minute after sitting down for a while. It took a long time to get better and now I'm wary of extending my legs back in pigeon and even warrior poses.

On the other hand, it was interesting to see that my hips are more 'open' than Adrienne's - see her 'fire log' (double pigeon) at about 34:00 of Day 11. When I do it my knee rests on the foot On the other hand, I still can't do any binds, not one. Shoulders just won't move back.

Thanks sandwich, I will have a go at that today. I think my giant bust gets in the way too, but will try and notice where the real problem is.

Hi there,
Am managing to do the yoga camp almost every day - I think I skipped a day because last night I did Day 12, but 20 mins was perfect for the end of a busy day.

Was starting to ache all over a couple of days ago and wondering if I should give my body a break, but now I seem to be ok again after a couple of gentler sessions. My neck is still quite sore though so I'm trying to protect it and not always look upwards for some of the poses.

I also struggle a lot with the leap into lunge. My foot gets nearly there and then I have to move my arms out to the side to get my foot in the right place.

Otherwise I'm pretty proud of myself for keeping it up so far, got a normal yoga class tonight, first one of the year, so I guess I'll be another day behind because after 2hrs of class I don't think I'll need to do any more!

Thanks for this thread.

"I find an easy thing really hard. Stepping forward from downward dog into a lunge"

This is no problem on my right side but I can't get my foot up more than half way on the left side Confused Any ideas what the problem might be?

Have done Day 10. A busy morning with a dentist appointment and errands in town meant I did afternoon yoga, this gentle, slow session has made me really sleepy! Yikes, I am taking dd2 to the panto this evening - I need to wake up.

I afternoon definitely better at morning yoga. ..

RhinestoneCowgirl · 15/01/2016 17:51

Managed morning yoga this morning, yay! Our internet grocery order came at 6.30am so I got the mat out as soon as I'd put the shopping away and did day 12.

Considering doing day 13 when the DC are in bed tonight...

Have just done day 11. I am very stiff! I had thought day 10 was too gentle... The twists are great for my shoulder, though. I do feel Adriene knows which bit of my body is suffering from the previous day and devises the right poses to stretch those muscles out!

Cote no idea, I just can't step forward to lunge in one go on either side. I had a post-natal yoga dvd by Shiva Rea and she always said step into lunge "helping your foot on its way". I still hear that in my head Grin. I was like that doing the one-legged pigeon, right side very hard but left side easy to the point I had to check I was actually doing it right.

Expellibramus · 16/01/2016 07:47

Thank you Cote and Duck for pigeon advice!

RubberDuck · 16/01/2016 08:56

Day 14 done. I may have done rather more childs poses than vinyasas in that one Grin But I did it!

RhinestoneCowgirl · 16/01/2016 09:39

Did day 13 before breakfast today, lovely start to the day.

Although I really struggle with cobblers pose, very tight in the hips I think.

My DC have been inspired to do more yoga too, the meditation aspect is particularly good for fidgetty 7yr old DD

I've fallen somewhat behind - I did days 11 & 13 just now (12 yesterday as it was nice and short and I was exhausted). Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to tackle 14 & 15 & then tack on 16 as it's only supposed to be 15 mins and be all caught up again. To motivate myself, I have gritted my financial teeth and splashed out on the Lululemon big mat so I am determined I will get good use out of it Grin

I can't do lunges either, the rest of my body just gets in the way Blush

thegiddylimit · 16/01/2016 23:39

Down dog to lunge- Adriene thinks of everything Grin

I missed two days because I had my usual Yoga class on Thursday and DD1 had her swimming lesson on Friday so I had a swim as well. After a 1 hours swim I was not ready to do any yoga so just did day 6 today. Oh my. Felt better when I got DH to try and do the boat pose, twas hilarious. Not that I'm competitive or anything oh no.

quirkychick · 17/01/2016 09:13

Ow, ow, ow sore muscles round my ribs from the twists on day 11. They didn't hurt at all at the time, in fact they really helped my tight shoulders. I have done day 12, nice and short and gentle-ish.

I will check that link thegiddylimit.

PixieChops · 17/01/2016 09:24

I did day 10 yesterday evening. I don't really get to do it in the morning so I use it as a de- stress after dealing with two under two! I found it quite slow going but still good.
I go to a yoga class on a Monday and the yoga teacher taught us a breath that's really good for colds but can't remember what it's called if anyone can help?
You take a big deep breath and then you breath in and out very quickly, forcing the breath out from your nose making a noise and you have your hand on your tummy as this is where you force the air out from.
You do it in 3 rounds of 108.

RubberDuck · 17/01/2016 10:37

Day 15 done - really proud of myself as I managed half moon pose for a few seconds on the left and for the full time on the right for the first time ever, using a block with the long edge to balance. Also used the block for triangle and managed to straighten my front leg. Clearly a block is the way to go, for me :)

quirkychick · 17/01/2016 16:17

Well done, RubberDuck I have a block somewhere...

thegiddylimit · 17/01/2016 23:00

Day 7 done, love all the warrier poses (my favourite!) but not so good on Tree pose. Stuck between finding it dead easy with the foot below the knee but can only keep the foot above the knee if I hold it in place. And yet I find the half lotus balance easy, it doesn't make sense.

Expellibramus · 18/01/2016 00:03

Day 11 done, hi everyone!

Talisin · 18/01/2016 00:07

Completed days 14 and 15 and having a quick rest before doing 16. My lunge seems to have improved literally overnight, not sure how that happened. I tried watching the vid giddy posted last night - thank you! - but my iPad ran out of juice before she actually got to the lunge so don't think it can have been that.

Triangle wasn't a problem, half moon - Hmm lets not go there.

Talisin · 18/01/2016 00:30

16 done and I'm all up to date again. 16, BTW, was lovely and gentle and short Smile

MagicalHamSandwich · 18/01/2016 07:25

Did day 16 last night. So grateful this one was nice and gentle. I'm on my period and cramping like crazy - promised myself I'd have a go and would postpone the day if it was anything overly flowing (I'm well settled in terms of flowing stuff right now! Grin)

This was actually nice and relaxing and helped relieve my cramps somewhat. I'll see how today goes ...
