The lady we know and love, who has brought us 30 Days Of Yoga, is starting a new series of sessions on YouTube from 1 January called .

This just might be the incentive I've been waiting for to establish a daily practice. Does anyone want to join me? Smile

Getting up early is not working for me at the moment, keep setting alarm and then slapping it in the morning so I can go back to sleep...

So afternoon yoga it was today, but enjoyed day 10. Really good stretch in pigeon Smile

StillaChocoholic · 12/01/2016 21:53

Oh I love pigeon, I've done up to day 9 now some I'm looking forward to pigeon in day 10 tomorrow. I've really struggled with tree pose so need to work on my balance, I did enjoy the warrior poses in day 9 today. I'm really enjoying this yoga camp.

MagicalHamSandwich · 12/01/2016 21:53

Try evenings if you can make it work, Rhinestone. I'm not a morning person at all and struggled for several months trying to get some yoga in before work and even dragging myself to classes. I've felt much, much happier with my practice since switching to evening yoga. Might not be your thing but give it a try at least once!

Day 11 done. I really loved today and even though I'm decidedly non-woo today's mantra was just what I needed after yet another 12-hour workday with the client from hell ... Still don't like that holy-cow-this-hurts-legs pose, though. Never have.

cece · 12/01/2016 21:57

Wow = really behind.

Did Day 6 today and really struggled as I have poor abs. I have done a lot of classes so only doing Adriene on the other days. I am going to give my class a miss tomorrow and do Day 7 and 8.

Expellibramus · 12/01/2016 22:25

Had to miss a day today but back again tomorrow for day 9!

Musicianofbremen · 13/01/2016 06:12

Day 11 done. Liked that twisty legs pose. Have never come across it before.

CoteDAzur · 13/01/2016 09:18

Day 10 done Smile I agree, this session was very pleasant. I didn't want to chance my hip problem with the one-legged pigeons, so did a variation with double pigeon instead. Other than that, smooth sailing! I even added a full wheel my head bare millimetres off the ground at the end Grin

Day 11 done! Loved the "take your prop. Hopefully it's not alive" part. Totally pictured people doing that exercise with their cat at that point!!

Day 11 coming up - I found day 10 quite a challenge with the half-pigeon!

thegiddylimit · 13/01/2016 19:41

Loved the "take your prop. Hopefully it's not alive" part.

I think this is a big part of Adriene's appeal, the humour. I like that she makes slightly rude jokes and then laughs at herself.

I'm way behind all of you on day 5 today (not done it yet but will do before War and Peace and bed). Not sure if I should skip day 6 (the abs stuff) since my usual class is tomorrow or if I should just do it on Friday. Decisions decisions. Being behind you all isn't good - I know what's coming!

Expellibramus · 13/01/2016 20:45

Day 9 done and dusted. Hi everyone, namaste and all that :)

cece · 13/01/2016 21:57

Just finished day 7 and 8 this evening. Trying to catch up!

Cote my yoga teacher calls that pose firelog. We do forward folds in it. Ouch!

My shoulder is starting to hurt a bit on the left side so I pleased there was no down dog tonight.

MagicalHamSandwich · 13/01/2016 23:15

Day 12 done! I really need to improve my balance, that up and down warrior one sequence makes me wobble at speed. Why do othe people always seem to breathe that fast? Every instructor I've ever met is already done with the exhale motion while I'm still not done breathing in.

Good to hear that tomorrow is supposed to be nice and easy as I have an evening dance class before I'll get to do say 13.

RubberDuck · 14/01/2016 08:41

Done Day 12!

I still can't do crow pose - either my arm strength is rubbish or my knees don't seem to be designed to get in the position she does to be able to lift (and I can't totally work it out are your knees supposed to be resting on your arms to distribute weight as you lift?).

I spent time in froggy pose instead (love that pose!)

quirkychick · 14/01/2016 14:33

I am now quite behind. Just done day 9.

I have had a mad 2 days with my friend's husband's funeral, dd2's birthday (same day) and meetings at dd2's school, yesterday. I have walked loads, even though I just couldn't fit in the yoga. Will have to try to catch up.

Yes, you are, Fatrascals, yay for you!

I'm working 14-hour days at present and have been since December with only two days off over the holidays, so feeling too tired to yoga is something I can absolutely relate to. OTOH I feel I have so much more energy when I practise daily. Five hours of sleep plus yoga or some other exercise seem to make me feel better than six hours of sleep without. I think it's because physical activity puts all that stress related adrenaline to its intended use of powering muscles ...

opioneers · 14/01/2016 18:11

I am catching up! Did day 11 this morning, am about to do 12 now, and from then on will be in sync as I tend to practice in the mornings. And I am finding it really, really good - better even than 30 days of yoga.

The thing that bugs me though, is that I find an easy thing really hard. Stepping forward from downward dog into a lunge. Just not possible in less than three steps and a lot of faffing. Is there a trick I am missing somewhere?

MagicalHamSandwich · 14/01/2016 20:32

Use your core muscles for that. Basically lift first and pull your knee towards your belly. Then step the foot forward. Think lifting the leg you're bringing forward over a fence.

At least that's how I do it.

quirkychick · 14/01/2016 22:05

opioneers I'm glad I'm not the only one. I think I'm just not flexible enough... yet. I can't put my palm on the floor in a forward fold, so I can't actually lift my leg enough, it needs a bit of help on the way Grin.

thegiddylimit · 14/01/2016 22:48

No yoga camp for me today, I had my usual yoga class today. Very inspiring to read how you are all getting on. DD1 has swimming tomorrow evening so I'll probably have a swim at the same time so considering getting up for a morning yoga session.

Expellibramus · 14/01/2016 23:34

Day 10 here. I really couldn't do the pigeon pose :(

RhinestoneCowgirl · 14/01/2016 23:51

No yoga yesterday as no time, but caught up with day 11 before tea today. DS (9) had a bit of a rough day at school so he did it with me on my spare mat. Was nice Smile
