What side hustles do you all do?

I am thinking of trying Match Betting my self. I don't want to spend all my time doing survey sites for a pittance.

I write product reviews. I don't get paid for writing them but do get to keep the products which I can sell on after a certain time period. I'm not the best at keeping on top of the reselling side but can make a few hundred quid a month from it if I make a bit of effort.

How can I get into that please? Thank you.

There are some great side hussles here.

Ive tried matched betting- got up to about £500 with the simple beginner bets and stopped when it became more complicated (casino etc).

Also counted votes for local council.

Hosted foreign students for a local language school- was about £130 a few years ago. Have since stopped as we no longer have a spare room.

I really like the idea of feeding cats.

Where can I try match betti? Thank you x

Matched meeting- www.teamprofit.com tells you everything you need to know.

As pp said - I did team profit. There’s also odds monkey, they do free step by step tutorials. I followed team profit tutorial which is how I got where I got. It gets more complicated needing to download snarkets and casino betting etc which is when I stopped. I found it quite exciting at the beginning but it became pretty tedious pretty quickly as you have to spend a bit of time finding the bets that it’ll work on (but team profit and odds monkey have blogs etc for this) and then you’d win small sums of money. I bet on football as it’s much simpler. Good luck if you do it. People do really well from it I just got bored pretty quickly to be honest x

Not a side hustle but Crypto currency. This is hugely risky/unstable and not financially regulated so beware of it but I bought £1300 worth of Ethereum in March last year. It's now worth £2480.

As I said- you need to know what you are doing and the risk is high so it's not for everyone but its not bad for doing nothing.

How do you know what you're doing tho? Where does one learn about crypto?

I teach programming classes for beginners in the evening for a company called Code First Girls. I don't even have a massive amount of programming knowledge, I just did some of their courses myself and have teaching&toturing experience so that helped.

I do it from 6.30pm-8.30pm so it fits with a 9-5, but they also sometimes need teachers for 1.30pm-3.30pm classes and even 11.30pm-1.30am classes (teaching students in the US)

@inabubble3 @lollydu Can I ask a question about matched betting? Once you've gained all the "free bet" money from the bookmakers, what do you do then? Do you wait for more bet offers? If not, how do you make a profit? Thanks!

Yes - they will send more offers and most bookies have weekly offers you can complete regularly. Until they decide you are taking value from them and then they restrict you. But it's good while it lasts. If you join something like outplayed they have tutorials that take you through everything. It's worth doing especially if you are saving up for something x

I help out with local/general elections, okay it's not regular but this year they'll be two so for two months I get about £400 extra each time (after tax etc). I live in an area where our local elections are in alternate years to general/crime commissioner, so I've had one every year I think.

Writing - copy for websites, mainly.

There are always people looking for this service, it just depends whether your sector experience is relevant to their requirements.

Where ? Im desperate for this kind of work?

Hipnotised · 09/04/2024 11:02

@bambara what is your field of expertise / experience?

That's the key to where you find work.

Does anyone know of an agency where I can sign up to teach English as a foreign language for a few hours a week as a side hustle? I used to do this privately but got sick of chasing people to pay me!

I have a few resources for sale on TES resources where the royalties trickle in. If I was more inspired, I'd upload more as it's very easy money

AnonyLonnymouse · 13/04/2024 21:05

@husbandcallsmepickle
That’s cool. I’ve looked into that too.
What kind of thing do you find sells best?

Chewbacalava · 14/04/2024 09:47

I’m thinking of getting a little evening bar job or waiting on in a very nice hotel around the corner from my home.
I know it’s minimum wage and I’ll be on my feet, but my main job is wfh and massively stressful, so I'm hoping it will make a pleasant change.

This is really interesting- I'd be keen to know more too - so many of the resources seem to be free. How much have you made?

husbandcallsmepickle · 29/04/2024 15:30

When I first uploaded them, I got quite a bit but it's only been small amounts recently. I have just uploaded a 'packing your bag' activity and resources linked to 'one is a crab'. tbh it's nothing very much but people seem prepared to pay £1 for them

Thanks - how many resources do you have? Do I need hundreds?
