How do you sign off on work Emails?

I used to sign off Kind regards but DD28 says this is very bad!! and at least change it to Best Regards.
I am re-joining the workforce after several years out so am a bit clueless on the correct sign off etiquette. So how do you do it?

Best is missing a word surely. Best what? Usual one from me is many thanks or cheers if very informal ie someone in my team or ta if I’m asking them to do something (probably a bit northern for some!). Agree that starting an email with just a name is akin to typing ‘you are fucking useless therefore I am having to explain again in words or one syllable”

Maybe 'best' is short for 'all the best' which is another empty expression!

Kind regards ok but the r should be lower case.

I always wonder about my own use of “best”. I often step back and think - really?! That’s the best I can do??? 🤣🤣🤣

Depends who it is:
If I like them, it's many thanks and kind regards
If I don't know them at all it's best regards
If I'm annoyed with them it's regards

I just say "Thank you" and my name.

It always feel so disingenuous to say anything with "regards" in it when I often don't know anything about the person. It's like those really annoying emails I get from someone I don't know saying "How are you" Twats.

Many people are going to hate mine, but they work for me (I'm UK-based, but our Company HQ is in America).

Day to day: Best regards
If I'm thanking someone: Best and thanks
To my own team: All my best

I say All the best. Which I assume people have the same problem with as “best”, as in all the best what? But it’s an established phrase. You might as well ask why you are wishing someone a good bye.

I discovered a couple of weeks ago that our Twatty Ops Manager is an "I hope this email finds you well" wanker. It has cemented how I feel about him.

Internally, I tend to be "thanks". Externally it's usually "Kind regards" unless they've pissed me off in which case it's "Regards". One particular correspondent gets regards plus my "big" signature which includes all my professional qualifications because they accused me of being unqualified and incompetent when I picked them up on an error.

Best wishes, the vast majority of the time. Seems to be the norm within the University I work in. Sometimes All Best Wishes if I want to be slightly friendlier. Or just All Best if wanting to be a bit less informal (but it is annoyingly ungrammatical so usually not).

Laughing out loud at the idea of starting e-mails with "How's your mom?" just randomly.

I one had to take a colleague (not British but working in Britain) aside and tell him that signing his emails "sunny greetings" would likely see him dead by teatime.

This could also be amusing. Within certain circles.

I used to work with a women who just used email titles no salutations and no sign off. It would be like “can you please send me the Baker report “ in the title and the email content would be blank 😂 it took me about 2 years to find out eom was end of message. She was lovely but didn’t waste time!

I use "kind regards" when emailing someone I don't really know, if familiar I go with "thanks" or "many thanks".

Formal eg to a client I don't know or someone in the business I've never met I still use kind regards.

Internal people I know just my initial, a thanks if necessary.

'best' has started to creep in at my company and I have an irrational hatred of it. It doesn't mean anything at all.

I don't start with "Dear Jo Bloggs" either, too formal.

The "Hope you're welle2 is ubiquitous since Covid and also makes me itch.

If it's a proper letter then I always revert to the formal way.

a former colleague who was a bitch used to sign off all her criticising emails with a 'take care' as if that made it alright. Now I have adopted 'take care' when I am pissed off myself.
