Woolly Hugs. A Blanket for GoJetterGirl, a tribute to her beautiful GoJetterBoy

I am afraid we bring very sad news. There are no words really to describe her shattering loss, the wonderful Mumsnetter GoJetterGirl’s beautiful seven year old son has died following two years suffering with cancer. Life has been so utterly cruel to him, to his family and friends, to all who love and will miss him. We are so so sorry. GoJetterGirl’s thread is here and we know many of you supported her on there through until his devastating death on February 25th. We are so very sorry and send so much love

We are so pleased that the lovely GoJetterGirl accepted our offer of a Woolly Hug, there will be love in every stitch and we hope lots of warmth, comfort and memories for his little brother too. We hope that many of you who have already supported on her thread will be able to help make this blanket. Many thanks to @NoWordForFluffy for all her help.

We shall need donors of yarn, funds and crafters. Can you help us? We know that many are away or on summer breaks, so provisionally we are setting a last posting date of Monday 21st September

Pinks (His favourite colour was pink, his favourite Go Jetter character a magenta pink, maybe one to focus on where poss?)

Important
Squares to be six inches, using 4mm needles or hook. Please knot off VERY carefully when finishing or changing colour and sew your ends in, thank you! No blocking please, makes it much easier to join squares.

When posting, it will be the Teddington address, please make sure you add your name and who the squares are for, and if you would like to include a card for the GoJetters family, please do, we will pass it on.

I've never contributed to a woolly hug, but I found GoJetter's thread so incredibly moving that I really want to help. My knitting and crochet is nowhere near as creative as some of yours, but I'd love to make up some squares.

A diamond sword and a pig would work with the colour scheme too for Minecraft squares.

I have the colours for a panda in my stash, maybe also a Happy Meal box applique as I have some of the Ruby wool and possibly a little bit of yellow left.

I might try something like this is square format for jumping in puddles.

I've just read GoJetterGirl's thread - missed it at the time. So very sad for her and her family - he sounds like a beautiful boy.

I will happily donate - can go to 4 balls if needed, just need to match me with a crafter. We also have the Penguin book by Polly Dunbar so would be thrilled if my "crafter" could do the penguin, or something from that book (and anything else).
