We have heard the dreadfully sad and shocking news that WhereDoAllTheCalculatorsGo’s husband died suddenly earlier this month following a brain haemorrhage. We send Calculators our love and are so sorry for her loss. She, their children, grand daughter, family and friends are in our hearts and thoughts.

We are so pleased that she accepted our offer of a Woolly Hug, there will be love for all of them crafted into every stitch. Calculators’ thread is here if you would like to post a message to her

So we are now asking for help once again Sad Thanks

I will co ordinate and Knotty (KnottyLocks) will help you with any queries, crafting, colour choice etc that you may have. If you are unsure about anything please ask. We need crocheters, knitters and donors (of funds or wool) If you would like to be involved in any way, please post on this thread and PM me (RatherBeOnThePiste) with your offers: crafting, donating, need wool, etc, I can help you with all of it.

Thanks Thank you so much.

    Suggestions for personalisations and motifs
    Lovely Calculators says….
He enjoyed flying model aeroplanes and riding motorbikes. He loved watching Formula 1 and all other car and bike racing.
I love owls, birds and butterflies.
Our favourite colour was always purple.
His favourite thing in all the world was a margarita cocktail. (Hence our toast to him here.)

We also have their initials, if you would like to help with this, please also PM.

Squares to be six inches, using 4mm needles or hook.

Simple or complex, made by beginner or expert, we genuinely welcome them all. It really is the love and thought that counts.

    Thanks Thanks

Previous blankets can be seen on our website We also have a Facebook page MNWoollyHugs and are on Twitter @MNWoollyHugs. If you 'like' or 'follow' us you'll be updated on progress via your feed. If looking for ideas for a pattern, there are many linked to from our website under Crafting

Please don’t block your square, and when finishing, knot securely and use a needle to sew the pesky in, please don’t cut to the knot as it could well fall apart. When ready for posting, please PM me for info. As always, we thank you so much for your support,

“I am so touched and grateful that you would do this for me.”
So sad that another blanket is needed. Calculators my lovely, we are thinking of you, your children, grand daughter, your families and friends and sending love X

    Thanks

More beautiful woolly treasure has been arriving, and treasure it is indeed. Huge thanks lovely crafters, you are a rather special bunch you know?

Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks

We start our thanks with a fabulous donor, we truly heart the donors, they make our blankets inclusive, someone will be able to take part and craft who otherwise wouldn't have been able to, and that is magic. Your crafter will make something very special from you both.

hi Knotty

what is silver wool? sparkly metallic or grey shades?

Report
KnottyLocks · 04/03/2015 22:07

Zing, by silver we mean the lighter grey tones. Not sparkly, no Smile

I've knitted my squares and have also had a bash at hooking for the first time in years, so there is also a rather lop-sided Blush granny square that could be used...

Will post them as soon as I can get to the PO.

Belle

oh dear. it's something DD would do.

Can it be gently rinsed in cold water and air dried? (after all these yarns are ok to wash in the machine)
I feel for you.
Wine or Brew & Cake to ease the pain?

MarthaCostello · 07/03/2015 21:51

Hmph, after all my careful planning, my margarita design has also come out rather martini-like, perhaps I shouldn't have been so quick to judge the other one! Blush

I will post it off anyway, as I am a day late with my squares for Becca (will PM Pistey too) for wanting to post them all together. But I might have another go at a more margarita-y shape and if I manage it I will post it along later :) I've done it all in one colour as I decided doing different colours would just be asking for trouble, especially as I always end up with a complete mess of loops at the back.

Rinsed it etc but it smells of coffee and the silver grey is a weird colour now. Have sighed and started again, and am also working on the plane.

DS2 is no longer permitted to look at mummy's crochet bag Confused

Belle since you've started a new one, why don't you wash the "coffee" square in the machine?
put it in a pillowcase, tie up, gentle cycle, then just air dry it. i have a feeling it will be ok. nothing to loose you might as well try it. (might be a good idea to take down measurements before and after)

Wine Brew Cake Thanks
