Woolly Hugs. A Blanket for the very lovely Inaminutenow. Crafters and donors, we need your help.

I'm afraid we bring very sad news. Inaminutenow’s beloved husband died in February, he had been suffering from cancer. Such devastating news, we are so sorry that life has been so cruel. Our love and thoughts are with her and their family. There is no separate thread, Inaminutenow has been posting in the very supportive thread for Mumsnetters whose husbands have cancer. Love and strength to them all X

We have offered to make Inaminutenow a blanket to show our love and support and to offer what comfort we can, and we are delighted to say she has accepted.

So we are asking for help once again

We will need crocheters, knitters and donors (of funds or wool) I will co ordinate and Knotty (KnottyLocks) will help you with any crafting queries you may have. Sincere heartfelt thanks.

Ideas and suggestions for squares.
Inaminutenow’s DH was a proud Welshman, so ideas there.
He loved his job, dealing with access to the countryside, footpaths, bridle ways etc. He was involved in creating a Coastal Path, so sea and countryside themes, birds, flowers, stars etc.
We have the family’s initials if this is something anyone would like to do, please PM.

Please don't feel daunted by these suggestions, we love plain squares and simple textures too. They look as stunning as the more complex squares and play a vital role in the overall effect.

Squares to be 6 inches, using 4mm hook or needles. All crafting abilities genuinely welcome, squares made by beginner or expert are equally welcomed. It really is the love and thought that counts.

When finished please sew in those ends but don’t block your work. Then PM me (RatherBeOnThePiste) for details for posting.

Woolfey On an apple green garter knit, some of Woolfey's trademark embroidery - the Welsh dragon, beautifully done and must have been so fiddly! And a super apple green granny square. Fab

MNP beautiful crochet, including a heart cable, striped rib and dahlia design. Gorgeous, and thanks for choc, will give Knotty hers, I promise :)

I am putting my hand up to claim the three anonymous squares. I thought I put a letter in the envelope but, may have posted it to someone else completely. I have form for this.

The textured square is called Bramble and is in JW Aubergine; the heathery one is in JW Heather and is a butterfly pattern (boy, you're good!) and the star in in Debbie Bliss Ecru and JW Emperor... I think.

Dear all, I'd like to thank all crafters and everyone else who contributed to our Woolly Hug - it arrived this morning and is a lovely piece. It captures lots of elements which link it to DH and we are truly grateful to each and every one of you for taking the time to produce such a unique item.
DH first anniversary is coming up at the start of February - it's incredible how fast the time has gone, when at times I can almost not believe that he has died in the first place.
We are all doing okay. Thanks again to all of you. It really means a lot! Un-MN xxxx
