I'm afraid we bring very sad news. Inaminutenow’s beloved husband died in February, he had been suffering from cancer. Such devastating news, we are so sorry that life has been so cruel. Our love and thoughts are with her and their family. There is no separate thread, Inaminutenow has been posting in the very supportive thread for Mumsnetters whose husbands have cancer. Love and strength to them all X

We have offered to make Inaminutenow a blanket to show our love and support and to offer what comfort we can, and we are delighted to say she has accepted.

So we are asking for help once again Sad Thanks

We will need crocheters, knitters and donors (of funds or wool) I will co ordinate and Knotty (KnottyLocks) will help you with any crafting queries you may have. Sincere heartfelt thanks. Thanks

If you would like to be involved in any way, please post on this thread and PM me (RatherBeOnThePiste) with your offers: crafting, donating, need wool, etc, I can help you with all of it.

Thank you so much Thanks

The Yarn we are Using….

  • Artesano Superwash Merino DK
  • Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK (discontinued but some still around)
  • Debbie Bliss Rialto DK
  • Drops Merino Extra Fine DK
  • James C. Brett Pure Merino DK (also discontinued, some still to be had)
  • Jenny Watson Pure Merino DK
  • Sublime Extra Fine Merino Wool DK
Just from the brands listed please because we know they combine for wash and wear.

    The Colours
    Greens, blues and purples
    Silver
Cream but please choose one of the following - Debbie Bliss Rialto DK 02 ecru, James C. Brett Pure Merino DK no 7 or Jenny Watson Pure Merino DK WM4 cream

    Ideas and suggestions for squares.
Inaminutenow’s DH was a proud Welshman, so ideas there.
He loved his job, dealing with access to the countryside, footpaths, bridle ways etc. He was involved in creating a Coastal Path, so sea and countryside themes, birds, flowers, stars etc.
We have the family’s initials if this is something anyone would like to do, please PM.

Please don't feel daunted by these suggestions, we love plain squares and simple textures too. They look as stunning as the more complex squares and play a vital role in the overall effect.

Squares to be 6 inches, using 4mm hook or needles. All crafting abilities genuinely welcome, squares made by beginner or expert are equally welcomed. It really is the love and thought that counts.

Our Crafting Guide is a good place for support, and previous blankets can be seen on our website too.

When finished please sew in those ends but don’t block your work. Then PM me (RatherBeOnThePiste) for details for posting.

As always heartfelt thanks for your support

Thinking of Inaminutenow, her beloved DH, their family and friends.

    Pistey and Knotty Thanks

Morning lovely woolly folk.

Horses, the Artesano dark teal is fine...their yarn can be so much brighter than the pics online but the dark teal is a thumbs up.

Which yellow is used for woolly hugs, please? I need a tiny bit for the middle of a flower. I do have 100% merino of the right colour (pale lemon yellow) but it isn't the right brand. What to do?

Love to inaminutenow and family. Thinking of you. Flowers

Morning everyone and a huge thank you :)

Have just replied to all PMs, but it is going very slowwwwwwwwly, not sure if that's me or HQ!

Such a lot of fabulous support, folk really are reaching out to lovely Inamin and her family. Amazing response. Thank you.

Yegods We do have a yellow we use, I can send you a little, need to send some to DWM for her daffs. How much would you need?

Please do remember if you PM either of us, let us know which blanket you are helping with. Very sadly we have several Woolly Hug projects currently running and it really helps us keep track.

Thank you SO much Thanks

Thank you Pistey. It is for 10 double/treble in the middle, so just a few yards (I'm always surprised at how much wool it takes to do just 1 treble!)

Heartfelt thanks to our donors for all they do, we could teach the world a thing or two about team work you know?! Donors - you are STARS.

Either funds have arrived safely with us, or wool with your crafter. Either way we are enormously grateful.

Thanks Jacksmania

Thanks MooseBeTimeForSpring

Thanks Zhx3

All lovely donors, do remember if you would like to send a card (crafters can send with squares) for the family, please do, the info was in the PM. We will make sure they get to Inaminute and her family.
