We recently heard the tragic news that CritterPants’ son James died on the evening of the day he was born following devastating complications. There is no separate thread, Critter has been a rock to so many on the Conception TTC 10+++ thread, she still is, and is being supported there. Our thoughts are with James, Critter, her DH, their families and friends. Please do use this thread for messages to the family.

We have offered to make a blanket and lovely Critter has said she is so grateful and moved that we would do this kind and generous thing and that it means the world to her and her DH. Bless her heart. We hope that the blanket may give whatever comfort it can.

Thanks

So once again we are calling on the Blanketeers for help - whether it be donating, knitting or crocheting. Will you join us? ?

Knotty ( KnottyLocks ) will help with any crafting queries. All crafting abilities genuinely welcome, squares made by beginner or expert are equally welcomed. It really is the love and thought that counts. Please do PM Knotty if you need help.

If you would like to donate wool or funds, I can match you up. If you would like to join in but need donated wool, I can help there too.
Please PM me with your offers of help ( RatherBeOnThePiste)

Suggestions for squares
Snowflakes, bobbles, stars, stripes (Critter lives in the States with her American DH) and we have initials, both individually and if anyone can do a design with 3 initials on one square do message us.

Do use the crafting guide on the website to help you with lots of practical info such as help with buying colours, recommended online retailers and if interested there are a lot of linked suggestions for patterns. Squares to be 6 inches, using 4mm hook or needles.

Previous blankets can be seen on the Woolly Hugs website and we are on Facebook and Twitter at MNWoollyHugs/@MNWoollyHugs which are both good ways to keep in touch.

As always heartfelt thanks for your support

Thinking of baby James and his family

Pistey and Knotty Thanks

I can't do a square atm, but thoughts v.much go out to Critter and family. Our precious DS died an hour after birth a few years ago. If Critter would like to pm, am happy to listen/handhold.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 14/02/2014 15:20

Oh Karen I am so very sorry for the loss of your precious son, and what a kind soul you are to be thinking of others. What a generous heart you have, bless you X

RatherBeOnThePiste · 14/02/2014 15:29

We have more lovely donors to thank. Honestly your donations mean so much to us, we always want to be inclusive, for everyone to join in if they would like to, and some folk just wouldn't be able to afford to. Your kind donations make it possible. Thank you

Hi all, I am not a crafter but would like to donate so will pm. Critter is an extraordinary soul, so generous with her support to the 10plussers over the last few years but even now after losing James, she still is there to support others. Remarkable.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 15/02/2014 09:43

She really is extraordinary, bless her heart, Thank you and welcome Devon I have just replied to you PM Thanks

yegodsandlittlefishes · 15/02/2014 11:02

A green bag has arrived from Pistey and is sitting on the radiator drying out. I think it was a bit squally when the postie did his round. Grin

SuperNappy · 15/02/2014 12:10

My postie has changed round and now my post doesn't come until 2:30pm.

yegodsandlittlefishes · 15/02/2014 12:30

Now opened it. I cannot tell the cream wool I've been sent from the Sublime I'm using on another project, so I will finish off the square I am working on before embarking on ones for Critter or I might muddle them up (which would not do at all!)

Opheliabumps · 15/02/2014 12:32

Pistey the missing wool finally turned up, so now I've got tons of the teal colour Grin

I'll weigh my finished square, and the left over wool, and if there isn't enough for another full square I'll send it all back with my completed squares so you can use it for embellishments etc.
