We have heard the shocking and devastating news that TrinityRhino's DP died suddenly this weekend. Very sadly, many of us will also know that Trinity tragically lost her DH four years ago. Trinity's thread is here
She and her girls are in our thoughts and we send them much love.

We've offered to make them a blanket in the hope it may give whatever comfort it can.

So we are now asking for help once again Thanks

Pistey (RatherBeOnThePiste) will co-ordinate and I'll be here to answer any queries you may have. We need crocheters, knitters and donors (of funds or wool).
If you would like to be involved in any way, please post on this thread and PM Pistey with your offers: crafting, donating, need wool, etc.

Thank you so much Thanks

The wool we are using

  • James C. Brett Pure Merino DK
  • Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK (being discontinued, but still some around)
  • Rowan Cashsoft DK
  • Sublime Extra Fine Merino Wool DK
  • Artesano Superwash Merino DK
  • Debbie Bliss Rialto DK (new to us)

Just from these please as they are very similar and we know they can be combined for wash and wear. These are all easily available online, try Deramores, Laughing Hens, RKMWools, AWoollyTail, WiseBadger.

The Colours
Warm purples, blues, silvers and cream
If choosing cream please go for either the Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK 013 or the James Brett no 7
Green and pink but only for embellishments

Suggestions for motifs
*Fishing, fish and the sea
*Themes from nature, flowers
*A submarine, a gecko
*A teddy bear, a crocodile (for Trin's teddy bear in a crocodile suit)
*We have their initials if you would like to help with this, please PM Pistey.

Thanks

Squares to be six inches, using 4mm needles or hook.

Simple or complex, made by beginner or expert, we genuinely welcome them all. It really is the love and thought that counts.

Previous blankets can be seen on our website We also have a Facebook page MNWoollyHugs and are on Twitter @MNWoollyHugs. If you like or follow us you'll be updated on progress via your feed. If looking for ideas for a pattern, there are many linked to from our website under Crafting

When ready for posting, please PM Pistey for info.

As always, we thank you so much for your support. Thanks

Knotty and Pistey

UniqueAndAmazing · 08/06/2013 13:48

is the last posting day on monday?

i've finished one square, but not trinity's.

oh god, i hope i get it finished on time :(

blondieminx · 08/06/2013 16:18

When is the last posting date? My wool is being dispatched today but I need to hook it yet!

I guess I'll be doing a crochet commute!

blondieminx · 08/06/2013 16:20

If my woolly wool arrives on Monday I'll be able to post on Thursday (it will only be plain though - I need to learn how to do patterns/designs!) Smile

UniqueAndAmazing · 08/06/2013 16:31

plain is good.
plain is essential :)

RatherBeOnThePiste · 10/06/2013 07:44

Last posting is indeed today Smile

Blondie hopefully your woolly wool will arrive today, and see how you get on with it, PM when you are ready for posting. Unique, fret not, just make and PM when you are ready too Thanks

GlaikitFizzog · 10/06/2013 07:51

I am posting today. DS keeps trying to put his toys in the parcel! So there may be something extra!

PiggyPlumPie · 10/06/2013 13:15

I'm posting today too when I get round to sewing those pesky ends in.

It is a very boring moss stitch square - I had high hopes for a fancy schmancy two colour square but just couldn't get it to knit up 6 inches wide!!!

I tried so many times and eventually gave up last night in disgust!!

I know plain squares are good but I wanted to do something different!

UniqueAndAmazing · 10/06/2013 13:34

thank you - she's asleep and i've put her in the pram (that normally wakes her up so fingers crossed)

UniqueAndAmazing · 10/06/2013 13:39

yeah, she's woken up.
so now she's on my shoulder because that's the only way she'll sleep.
i got one half row done ....

UniqueAndAmazing · 10/06/2013 13:40

i'll pass her over to DH at lunch and have a go then.
damn Busy Bees!

valiumredhead · 10/06/2013 13:42

Goodness only knows how I missed this and I can't add to trinity's original thread, so would just like to offer my sympathies to her and her family Thanks x
