Our sympathies and thoughts are with daisydotandgertie, who lost her husband this month.

Woolly Hugs is now in action and this is the support and chat thread at which all are welcome - knitters, crocheters and donors. If you are a first time crafter please do have a go. There is bags of support and plain squares are just as important to our endeavour as fancy ones.

As flowers was one of the requested motifs, I'll just note there's a flowers section in the crafting guide. I might try the posies pattern on this sock pattern. For Welsh (or at least Celtic) patterns, I did this for a previous blanket.

I'm twiddling my thumbs. Initials for trinity's blanket done. The angry birds are on hold until my new needles arrive bloody rosewood fragile as glass

I might do a few squares for my Billie blanket. Although I still need to learn to hook together!!

Stand by later for a huuuuuuuuge list of thank yous. Wow is all I can say! Thanks

MinnieBar · 28/05/2013 15:30

Six squares all finally done - but DD2 appears to have come down with a stomach upset, so venturing more than 2 minutes from a toilet seems a dangerous idea at the moment. I'll post tmrw, promise also once I dig out the address

PurpleFrog · 28/05/2013 16:03

Pistey - I guess that means I wasn't the only one who made just the deadline by the skin of my teeth! Grin

PurpleFrog · 28/05/2013 16:04

Ahhh - "just made" not "made just". Why can't I spot these before pressing POST. Blush

I did a Gecko on a square for Trinity's blanket. I think it's on my profile. Computer was saying no a few times so im not sure if it stuck.

I've another two squares left to do for Survival and hope to get them in the post this weekend.

Thanks for extending the posting date as I had thought I was too late to contribute.

I like it, great feet! Check out my crocodile, they'll go well together. Smile

Lots of woolly arrivals on the thread, huge thanks to everyone Thanks

Just beginning to think on International Yarn Bombing Day which is on June 8, so not long!

droitwichmummy · 01/06/2013 14:51

Hello! I've been on hols for a week - did I miss anything?

TheWoollybacksWife · 03/06/2013 22:53

Does anyone need a set of 4mm knitting needles? They were a free gift with a wool craft magazine and I have enough needles already. I think they are made from bamboo, but I might be wrong.

PM me if you want them - I'm moving house next Monday and will be without tinternet next week so I will try to reply when I can.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 04/06/2013 07:52

no internet? Shock

Would be very happy to take them Woolly, we do sometimes send needles and hooks to crafters with woolly wool if they are struggling on funds. But only if, sounds like you will be very busy X

TheWoollybacksWife · 04/06/2013 11:16

Even worse than no Internet - I will have no TV on the first night. I may be forced to interact with my family Shock Wink

I have woolly stuff to be going on with. This may rescue me from Monopoly.

I'm working my way through my stash of Stylecraft so when I have a woolly hug finished I'll send the needles with it.

Now... Back to the boxes and the packing tape. is it too early for wine?

Theodora · 04/06/2013 18:17

Hello Pistey
I posted my squares today - hooray! Am still a bit worried about my friendship circle one as there are huge gaps in the middle of the circles (they are intentional!) so am not sure they'll be suitable for a blanket. Have a look when they arrive and scrap that square if you think it's no good. It was a tricky pattern and am pleased to have done it but won't mind if you can't use it.
