A Blanket for My5boysandme. Sign up thread for crafters and donors. Can you help us?

With heavy hearts we bring the desperately sad news that My5boysandme has lost her precious baby son Dexter. We have offered to make the family a blanket, and hope it may give whatever comfort it can to them. We are so pleased that they have accepted. My5boysandme sends thanks to all and is very touched by everyone's kindness and compassion. Here is her original thread

We send My5boysandme all our love and are so sorry for her loss. We are keeping her family close in our thoughts. X

So once again we are calling on the Blanketeers for help - whether it be donating, knitting or crocheting. Will you join us?

If you would like to help in anyway, please post on this thread but also PM me so we know. If you are able to donate, I can match you up with a crafter, or give you our donating information. I will co ordinate, match and deal with any admin. Knotty is here to answer any questions you may have. Sincere heartfelt thanks once again

As in the past, for consistency, the wools we are using are:

• Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK (NOT the baby cashmerino)
• Rowan Cashsoft DK
• Sublime Extra Fine Merino Wool DK
• Artesano Superwash Merino DK

4mm knitting needles or hooks
6" squares, as simple or as complex as you like.

The Colours
Greens, blues, silvers, dark/warm purple and cream.
If choosing cream, we ask that you go for the Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK 013

It's a bobble design in the middle andthen granny to border it.
The bobbles are double-sided

Hairy - at the mo we don't have an excess of donors, but if we do, I will come to you, thank you so much for the offer

(technically the double sided bobbles only appear that way - there are bobbles on both sides, but alternate rows, so one set face that way, one set face the other )

I've done one square so far. I haven't dampened and pinned it so its measuring closer to 5.5" but will definitely stretch to 6". I hope that's ok?

Wow, that was amazingly quick; I have my wool . Beautiful diesel blue DB cashmerino (and a bag of maltesers too ). Will get started once DD is at preschool.
