Oh no! The previous thread has become full and suddenly we need a new one, with no way of linking old to new. I hope people will find this one. :)

This is a continuation of our thread supporting MNers creating blanket squares for Woolly Hugs. All are welcome.

Ophelia, you're on - I've put you above the line where 'here be dragons' as otherwise it's only DAISY and me representing the North of England, with Formerly technically on the right latitude but in another country Grin If you live just south of the line, I'm moving the line down!

I'm surprised to hear Chester is short on wool shops, I would have thought it'd have a few naice places.

I'm off today to my 'knitting with colour' workshop so I am insanely excited to learn how I've been doing it wrong all this time.

Just popping in as I promised Piste I would let you know when baby arrived.

Rosalie Jean was born at 1:08am this morning. She weighed 9lb 6.5oz. She gorgeous and her big brothers are amazed by her.

So if there is ever another blanket, fingers crossed I'll be able to actually get some squares done.

PurplePidjin · 20/06/2012 11:01

"We haf vays off mekking you fit"

PurplePidjin · 20/06/2012 11:02

Congratulations, McKayz family Thanks and welcome to the world, Rosalie!

HairyPotter · 20/06/2012 11:44

Morning woolly people Smile

Ok. I have finally finished my very first square after 3 failed attempts I have even managed to cast off. And, with a bit a stretching it is 6"!! Woo hoo.

Next really dumb question is, sew in pesky ends??? What on earth do I do?? I'm very stupid so please speak veerrrrry slowly Grin

PurplePidjin · 20/06/2012 11:52

Thread pesky end onto big darning/ tapestry type needle.

Wiggle it through 8-10 stitches.

Cut.

tribpot · 20/06/2012 11:56

Hairy, some fancy ways of sewing in ends but basically just take a large blunt needle and weave the ends in to the side of the work.

I missed the blanket call for Matilda somehow. I did wonder what you were all knitting... Boo Sad

PurplePidjin · 20/06/2012 14:14

Last posting for Matilda is 30/6, Dances, you've got 10 whole days!

DancesWithWoolsEnPointe · 20/06/2012 14:19

I don't think they need anymore squares though

FormerlyTitledUntidy · 20/06/2012 14:20

Thanks CONGRATULATIONS TO MCKAYZ Thanks
Wahoo, very well done, Rosalie is a beautiful name, and a great size :o

My squares are packaged and ready to be sent. Pesky ends all done. I seriously regretted that square with 5 colour changes :( but finished now :)

Knotty do you have any thing special you like to munch while hooking? :)

PurplePidjin · 20/06/2012 14:25

We're always grateful for people's generosity, and will find a use. Have you seen the Mini Hugs posted on the farcebook page?

PurplePidjin · 20/06/2012 14:26

Formerly, she likes rum...

DancesWithWoolsEnPointe · 20/06/2012 14:28

I did Pidj - they intimidated the living daylights out of me Grin

DancesWithWoolsEnPointe · 20/06/2012 14:30

Pistey says they can still use my squares for this one, so yay.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 20/06/2012 14:37
Wine
RatherBeOnThePiste · 20/06/2012 14:45

McKayz - absolutely smashing news - I have PMd you too, but thank you so much for thinking and coming to tell us, and on this very day, marvellous news X

BarbaraWoodlouse I would quake under Knots' steely gaze, and I'm bigger than her, those poor poor little squares.....

Formerly Knotty likes milk chocolate, but she does like rum tis true. Thanks

Still making my way through the PMs, I really really will get there. I think I had a problem sending some this morning, some don't seem to have gone through. Wassat all abaaaaht?!

FormerlyTitledUntidy · 20/06/2012 15:20

OK, no promises but I'll see what I can do Wink

RedRosie · 20/06/2012 17:43

Rosalie?

A lovely name. One of the best.

Welcome Rosalie. :)

DancesWithWoolsEnPointe · 20/06/2012 17:55

Right - bought appropriate wool, and have optimistically begun a star square. Wine will probably be needed about 20 rows in...

RatherBeOnThePiste · 20/06/2012 18:07

Wine Passes to Dances Grin

RedRosie · 21/06/2012 05:46

Morning all ...

Not having an easy week - no knitting done at all :(

But the weekend holds out hope that my two not very good squares will get finished ...

Today, in The South, it is raining and there are no dragons. I may write a poem.

DancesWithWoolsEnPointe · 21/06/2012 06:17

Argh - DD3 was playing with my wool at gymnastics and I was pleased that she was entertained so I just left her and I didn't notice and now my 3 shiny, new expensive balls for Mailda's blanket are in a gargantuan knot Angry And what I've knitted so far is rubbish and needs redoing.

Boo - poor start Podd Dances

RatherBeOnThePiste · 21/06/2012 06:32

A poem would be lovely on such a miserable day Rosie.

Morning Brew

Uniucky there Dances!

DancesWithWoolsEnPointe · 21/06/2012 06:40

sulky Brew

MinnieBar · 21/06/2012 07:25

Booble square mark 2 nearly finished, which is good as I'm now a bit bored of boobles?!

What's next, Trib?
