Oh no! The previous thread has become full and suddenly we need a new one, with no way of linking old to new. I hope people will find this one. :)

This is a continuation of our thread supporting MNers creating blanket squares for Woolly Hugs. All are welcome.

Ophelia, you're on - I've put you above the line where 'here be dragons' as otherwise it's only DAISY and me representing the North of England, with Formerly technically on the right latitude but in another country Grin If you live just south of the line, I'm moving the line down!

I'm surprised to hear Chester is short on wool shops, I would have thought it'd have a few naice places.

I'm off today to my 'knitting with colour' workshop so I am insanely excited to learn how I've been doing it wrong all this time.

Prettybird, not only do you have a foolproof tablet recipe, but you also have solved my tightness issue Thanks for you, because I think you have just save my blanket.

Do you think Trib is teaching the youth of Leeds an icord bind off?

tribpot · 22/06/2012 16:41

You'll like this: the Hoover sucked up that little one-colour brioche sample I did and then started giving off smoke to the point the smoke alarm went off! Fortunately before the children arrived.

So far Lego Batman is winning, although have had to tell DH off for not letting the others take a turn Wink

Glaikit : it's amazing what advice you can find when you google how to do a looser cast-off when you can't get your head through the jumper opening WinkBlush

Happy to help :)

MinnieBar · 22/06/2012 17:19

Trib - stand behind them muttering 'He's not an actual superhero - he doesn't have powers. Just money' Grin

Or, knit another brioche square and then shout 'Do you think Batman could do this??! WELL?!'

tribpot · 22/06/2012 17:28

Main problem so far has been the neighbours kids banging on the door claiming they want to invite DS to a party Hmm four times so far and counting, god knows where their parents are, they're playing outside in the pouring rain ...

My brain just smokes at the thought of doing brioche!

Tribpot, a couple of weeks ago I had a look at a link you put up with hints and patterns. Alas! I can't find it anymore! Please could you put the link up again (I think it was a link)? Ta, Grazie, Go raibh maith agat & Diolch Grin (I think that covers the northern, Sicilian, Irish I happened upon earlier + I'm in Wales)

Glaikit · 22/06/2012 22:11

Pleiades here you go. I bookmarked it because it's fab!

How are you feeling post-party Trib?

tribpot · 23/06/2012 10:34

No knitting rest for the wicked, Minnie! Asleep by 10:15, up at 07:30, in Leeds having breakfast with my brother and family (who are the uni open day today) by 08:30, now back and just waiting the go order to help set up the summer fair at ds' school.

All this in the weekend before the biggest meeting I will have all year, oh joy.

Btw, I think Glaikit's link is to the mobile version of the document, which is fine (I hadn't seen it that way before so a good link for me too!) but if you're on a laptop, this is the link to the desktop version of the doc.

Glaikit · 23/06/2012 14:03

My little check stitch square (not bad, small error but might get away with it) square is done.

My boat looks not so good - but I'll send it in and Pitsey/Knotty can decide if they want to use it. I followed Trib's written instructions, but think I made an error somewhere ...

Coming week potentially a bit grim - but will do some sort of stitch pattern for consideration if I can ...
