We have just heard the tragic and devastating news that MrsKwazii's daughter has passed away today in an accident. She was 4 Sad

We would like to make a blanket for MrsKwazii's family, to offer them what comfort we can.
If you would like to contribute in any way, please sign up below and PM RatherbeOnThePiste with your offer: crafting, donating, need wool, don't need wool, etc. She'll match you up.

We need knitters, crocheters and donors. If you would like to donate wool, then we can match you up with a crafter.

If you are offering to donate, we would be grateful if you would let us know if you'd like to donate 1 or 2 balls of wool. They cost roughly £5 per ball.

Crafters, if you need wool please let Pistey know if you'd like 1 or 2 balls of wool.
One ball should make at least 2 x 6" squares.

The wool we are using is:

  • Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK (NOT the baby cashmerino)

  • or Rowan Cashsoft DK.

They are very similar and can be combined.

  • 4mm knitting needles or hooks

  • cast on 33 stitches (this is a guide for less experienced knitters)

  • 6" squares

The Colours:

Blues, warm purples, greens, silver/ greys and pinks.

Good idea Janice
Piste, envelope is in the post

RatherBeOnThePiste · 29/02/2012 14:57

Fabulous work again by our lovely donors!

More woolly wool has arrived safely with crafters. Thank you for your generosity..

A donor and her crafter are like any famous double act, one relies on the other. I'm thinking Wallace and Gromit, Ant & Dec, Tom & Jerry, Elephant and Castle and that man with the big green duck. Grin

A huge thank you to:

Thanks blatherskite

Thanks Whatevertheweather

Thanks fishlegs

Thanks goingbacktowork

Thanks kasbah72

RatherBeOnThePiste · 29/02/2012 14:58

Thank you Brian!

Methe · 29/02/2012 14:59

Brilliant idea Janice!

I have done half a square of waffle and i'll probably be able to finish it tonight.

My wool is a lovely pink DB one. The senders details aren't on it so I can't thank them personally :(

RatherBeOnThePiste · 29/02/2012 15:03

Well I know who they are Methe - I shall do it for you right now!

nickelhasababy · 29/02/2012 15:18

I 'ate that duck.

Wink
RatherBeOnThePiste · 29/02/2012 15:22

You and your donor can be something else then... Cheese and Pickle?
Nickel... you can be the pickle?

nickelhasababy · 29/02/2012 15:25

cheese and pickle sounds good! My favourite sandwich! Grin

would change my name, but when I did the halloween pickledbabe name, it took ages for people to recognise me.

BIWI · 29/02/2012 15:25

I told them before, by e-mail, but had no reply from them Sad

RatherBeOnThePiste · 29/02/2012 15:30

I thought I remembered someone contacting the suppliers before - I was going to ask Knots. So it was you lovely BIWI Thanks Sad not to even hear back though.

I contacted Cucumberpatch about it last summer too, and linked them to the blanket threads, but didn't hear anything back from them either.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 29/02/2012 15:32

messymammy · 29/02/2012 15:35

Oh no I know its coming, just I have itchy fingers :)

PurplePidjin · 29/02/2012 15:45

Still waiting for mine, it's hard not to dig into my stash but I want to save that for swapsies on Friday!

KnitterNotTwitter · 29/02/2012 15:49

Sorry. Bbit late to this one but I'll definitely knit a square or two. I'm afraid I can't pm pistey as i'm on the raspberry but I have the details from wubbly's blanket. The only thing is that my I would appreciate being sent some wool. Would that be possible?

KnottyLocks · 29/02/2012 16:10

Knitter, if you are happy we'll split your squares over the two blankets. Just put a note in to say that when you send the squares in.

Sorry if its caused any delay.

NessaRose · 29/02/2012 16:19

BIWI, the wool is lovely. Thank you.

TimeForCake · 29/02/2012 16:29

That's interesting Al0uise because I think the same has happened to me. I ordered from them on Friday & still no wool. I have the receipt from Paypal though. Confused What did you do to sort it out if you don't mind me asking?

Pancakeflipper · 29/02/2012 16:32

A beautiful raspberry coloured ball of wool has arrived for me to knit.

Thank you to whom ever was lovely enough to donate their money. You are lovely.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 29/02/2012 16:34

TimeForCake · 29/02/2012 16:39

Fab, thanks Pistey. I'm sure it's PayPal, not them. Or perhaps the fact that I used t'internet on my phone to order, which I knew at the time was probably a bad idea. Will give them a call.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 29/02/2012 16:40

Methe - I think you must have got the wool I sent! Thank you Thanks
