We have heard the very sad news that our own lovely WubblyBubbly passed away very peacefully this week, after two years living with breast cancer. MrWubbly let us know on this thread, where many have expressed their condolences and shared their memories of Wubbly.

We have offered to make a blanket for MrWubbly and their son, Lawrie. MrWubbly has said that both he and Lawrie would love this and they are very touched by the idea. We hope that it may bring whatever comfort it can to them both.

So, we need knitters, crocheters and donors. If you would like to donate wool, then we can match you up with a crafter.

RatherBeOnThePiste will coordinate and match crafters and donors, and deal with the admin side. I'll try to answer any queries you may have and will put together the blanket.

If you would like to be involved in any way, please post on this thread and PM Pistey with your offers: crafting, donating, need wool, etc, and she will match you up.
If you are offering to donate, we would be grateful if you would let us know if you'd like to donate 1 or 2 balls of wool. They cost roughly £5 per ball.

Crafters, if you need wool please let Pistey know if you'd like 1 or 2 balls of wool.
One ball should make at least 2 x 6" squares.

Thank you all so very much Thanks

Nope. You can rely on me to be nowhere near finishing Pistey!
Slow and clueless steady eh?! You are further on than me anyway so don't panic yet. Maybe you spent too much time googling Mr Elba Wink

RatherBeOnThePiste · 07/03/2012 21:54

KnottyLocks · 07/03/2012 22:07

Errrrr Wine?! Tis too early for even me. Have a good day.

motherofsnortpigs · 08/03/2012 09:59

Sorry to arrive so late at the party. I am going to be crocheting and nattering (possibly to myself) on Monday in Didcot. I am glad I've found the original thread with the colour scheme. I'll be at Boswells Cafe from middday until about 3pm. Sign in here if you want me to look out for you.

Piste I'll pm you for a postal address when I have something to send.

Just received a lovely ball of green wool and bar of chocolate from my wonderful donor Thanks Grin

Will get cracking this afternoon, baby permitting - I keep having to remove him from forbidden places at the moment!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 08/03/2012 14:32

MumToTiny - Im so glad your woolly stuff has arrived!!

MumToTiny · 08/03/2012 14:41

I know Pistey - I'll stop blaming those thieving Welsh sheeps now - 'twas my lovely donor putting in chocolate-type refreshment that must have slowed things down! Grin

DaffodilsAhoy · 08/03/2012 14:56

Right! I'm all done - all six squares on my profile.
I've packaged them up and am sending them on. Spare donor wool is coming in a separate parcel - jiffy bag too small!
I've loved being part of these two projects.

((((thanks lovely knitting co-ordinators))))
Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks

RatherBeOnThePiste · 08/03/2012 15:38

ExitPursuedByaBear · 08/03/2012 15:39

MrWubbly - David, it's lovely to hear from you. I hope I didn't badger you into posting... I just wanted you to feel you could, if you wanted to. There's no way you could spoil the thread - some of our inane chatter might - but hopefully not :) I am sure that WubblyWendy's Celebration of Life was lovely - as lovely as it could possibly be. I think of you both everyday, I'm sure you have lots of friends/family that are supporting you, but we are here if you ever want to chat, there are some great boards on MN (different topics) that you might find friendship/support/information. I hope you and Lawrie can feel the love, friendship and hugs that are in the blanket when it arrives. x

ChippingInNeedsCoffee · 08/03/2012 21:34

Pistey - 700?? Blimey, we are keeping you busy aren't we!! I do so love Knotty's pressie and if she ever needs a babysitter... Grin

ChippingInNeedsCoffee · 08/03/2012 21:37

Alambil · 08/03/2012 21:50

are HQ going to lift the 1000 post limit?

ChippingInNeedsCoffee · 08/03/2012 22:10

Lewis - probably not as it (apparently) makes it very difficult for people reading on phones etc. I'm sure Knotty will start another thread and link from here :)
