We have heard the very sad news that our own lovely WubblyBubbly passed away very peacefully this week, after two years living with breast cancer. MrWubbly let us know on this thread, where many have expressed their condolences and shared their memories of Wubbly.

We have offered to make a blanket for MrWubbly and their son, Lawrie. MrWubbly has said that both he and Lawrie would love this and they are very touched by the idea. We hope that it may bring whatever comfort it can to them both.

So, we need knitters, crocheters and donors. If you would like to donate wool, then we can match you up with a crafter.

RatherBeOnThePiste will coordinate and match crafters and donors, and deal with the admin side. I'll try to answer any queries you may have and will put together the blanket.

If you would like to be involved in any way, please post on this thread and PM Pistey with your offers: crafting, donating, need wool, etc, and she will match you up.
If you are offering to donate, we would be grateful if you would let us know if you'd like to donate 1 or 2 balls of wool. They cost roughly £5 per ball.

Crafters, if you need wool please let Pistey know if you'd like 1 or 2 balls of wool.
One ball should make at least 2 x 6" squares.

Thank you all so very much Thanks

Knotty - I know, I know - I'm just so bloody indecisive Blush I wanted a pretty soft pink but there isn't one in the DB range - so I couldn't decide between the brighter 27 and the dusky 42... it continued through the colour range.... I really shouldn't have either as things are somewhat tight, but hey, what's the point in having a visa card if you don't max it out use it occasionally & who needs to eat?!

I have a project in mind - so it's all good plus they said if I sorted myself out I could take it back if I wanted to and get a refund/swap it for something else.

The parking was £6.50 and is likely to be £10 for tomorrow - Reading is shocking!!

Anyone got a knitting bag lock? or a knitting bag for that matter

KnottyLocks · 01/03/2012 22:06

You need a purse lock, Chip!

But if you lock your non-existent knitting bag you'll have to buy more wool Confused

androbbob · 01/03/2012 22:16

My wool arrived yesterday and is off on a trip to Center Parcs tomorrow where it will be transformed into two squares!

Primrose123 · 01/03/2012 22:17

kayzr send in your square, and ask knotty if she can place it next to mine, it's only 5 inches wide!

KnottyLocks · 01/03/2012 22:27

Can you lot not get a ruler?

Or do I need to covert it to metric?

Soup - I was planning on putting a small hole punch hole in the side - big enough for a strand of wool, not big enough for Pidjy's little fingers!! Grin

androbbob what colour did you get??

Knotty - I don't know what you are going to do with them

SoupDragon · 01/03/2012 22:41

Now, you see, you mention "hole punch" and I immediately think of putting the little cut out discs into an envelope of crocheted squares and posting them.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 01/03/2012 22:48

hole punch?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 01/03/2012 22:49

Brew morning Brew

I had to undo 80% of a square last night because I hadn't been sure whether it was uk or us crochet stitches and it turned out to be US so my square was teeny and squashed. Grrrrr. I do wish they would be clearer for idiots on their patterns! On the upside I've now mastered the puff stitch and I'm really pleased with the bit I've redone Smile

RL interupting my crocheting this morning. Is it sad I would rather be at home with my hook?!
